Not a bad place, but not a great place. The food was good, but overpriced. Portions were pretty small. I was disappointed that I ordered fruit as the side for my son’s kids meal expecting it to be grapes and melon and it literally was a can of fruit cocktail dumped in a cup. Our waitress was nice but disappeared at the end of our meal and we had to ask other waitresses for our check.

Just got into town and the group was carving a nice delicious steak. This cute little steakhouse is located on the southeast corner of White Mountain Blvd and Penrod Ln. That evening they had a live band performing country music. I order a top sirloin(12oz) with mash potato, french onion soup and a side of deep fried shrimp. I wouldn’t call myself a steak connoisseur but I do know my taste buds! And my taste buds wasn’t happy. My sirloin came out very dry and over cooked. Starving and didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes, I devour it! The french onion soup was on point, not too sweet and not too bitter, just RIGHT! Our waitress was mediocre. She was somewhat tentative, almost seems like she didn’t want to serve us. Not a single smile till the very end when we received our check. What I loved about the place, is the oversize fireplace! Nothing beats dinner around a fireplace. Overall, it’s a decent place to dine, just don’t go in with high hopes, you will surely be disappointed! KCYE Don

This place was great. Even though it was crowded our server showed up at just the right times. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The appetizers are huge though so plan on sharing them.

It’s a hole in the wall small town steakhouse, with charm. The food was great, service was excellent. I had a steak salad, the steak was prepared perfectly and the salad was just absolutely delicious! That dressing!

If heaping portions is what you’re looking for, you will not be disappointed. Honest American(if somewhat cardiac-unhealthy) cuisine served in a log cabin atmosphere. Be prepared to waddle out to the parking lot and bring your own Rolaids.

Highly over rated. Center cut ribeye steak was sliced thin, full of gristle and dry. The blooming onion appetizers was under cooked. My baked potato was the size of a tennis ball. All this for premium price. One time visit for us.

Came up to Pinetop with friends and wanted to eat out at a local restaurant. Wasn’t too scared about the 3.4÷5 stars and wanted to try it for ourselves. But after long waits, plain food and high prices I have to agree with the low rating. Salad that came with the steak was a joke, seriously had like 4 things of lettuce and a quarter of a tomato, bread was basic, baked potato was plain and steak was average. My friend complained that her mashed potatoes tasted like nothing and didn’t even have salt or pepper on them. Def NOT worth $ 16. I could get a better steak, bigger salad, better dressed potato and yummier bread for $ 10 at Texas Roadhouse in Phx. Managers need to consider spicing up their food or lowering their cost on a basic meal.

There are a few times in life that really stand out and ones 10 year anniversary is one of them. On August 27th2015 I took my wife to Show Low for a quiet romantic retreat including Hiking and a romantic rustic dinner at Charlie Clarke’s. Charlie Clark’s was recommended by our lodging provider and we gladly went with it. We arrived and we’re promptly seated, and boy were we ever looking forward to a Steak after a long day of hiking. Our waiter took our drink and appetizer order then things went south… Our appetizer showed up and it was frozen in the middle… I was mortified as things were going south out of the gate. I had a new wedding ring for my wife and I wanted a good experience to present it to her over dinner… instead I was arguing with a waiter that was justifying the kitchens mistake. long story short the meal was ordered because there wasn’t anywhere else to go at that point and this place pretty much trashed the surprise for my wife. How was our Streak you ask? well let’s just say it was less than average… I have had better steaks at Sizzler or an all inclusive Mexican resort. If it had been any other night I would have pitched a bitch with management. Lesson to wait staff fix the problems because you never know why your customers are there… it is your job to make the visit memorable whether you are waiting tables at Dennys or Charlie Clarke’s.

Another Blackened Prime Rib review. Yes, it is THAT good. If «blackened garlic» sounds at all good to you, you must try this one! It is the best prime rib I’ve ever had in the 49 years I’ve been eating cows. There was no pondering involved, nothing else was even close. I ordered mine medium-rare. No, it’s not an upscale«chic» Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris. If you want overpriced style, you’ll just have to go somewhere else.

The best ever French onion soup wait staff warm and friendly. Also went for burgers on margarita day drinks were to strong or watered down Eating outside very hard to hear with outside traffic. Service was good We’d go back with smaller party and eat inside

After hearing from my husband about how great Charlie Clarks, I was very sad that we pick it to celebrate our forty– third anniversary. Starting in the bar we were served a vodka gimlet with olives in it. A new experience for someone who has passed many evenings relaxing with same. The bartender was dissatisfied with her dollar fifty tip and returned it with my receipt. Dinner did not improve our moods. Although my crab and butternut squash were tasty, my husband’s Blackened Charlie’s Skillet was a total disappointment. The center cut rib eye was neither blackened nor center cut. It was at least half fat and gristle. It was virtually tasteless. I could taste no salt, pepper, or any blackening spices. We asked a server about it and she assured us that it was in fact blackened. We will not be visiting Charlie ever again. Service in the dinning room was pleasant.

I was expecting more from this steakhouse. Bar service was slow even with only half the stools taken and three bartenders. Food was pricy. Stuffed mushrooms were good if you like melted cheese(which I do) but it totally disengaged the crab taste. I got the blackened ribeye which wasn’t blackened but rather smothered in a sauce to give it a blackened(spicy) taste. Overall, for the price(expensive) it was an average experience. Probably won’t return.

Best to avoid on Friday and Saturday nights. Very slow service. But what made the night special was a party of six drunk people bellowing for over an hour before manager told them to keep it down. Not good to take children with loud drunks screaming«how often does your wife fart?» Things went downhill from there. Hard to understand why restaurant continued serving them liquor. Food is ok, just don’t take children to Charlie Clarks — very disappointing.

Go during off peak hours and enjoy a burger and a beer. During busy hours the noise is unbearable, the service is poor and the food is mediocre. Bar is pleasant but noisy. Management is incapable of asking a loud and rowdy table to keep it quiet.

We have been coming here for over 15 years-something has changed. We have a cabin up here and last weekend went twice and were very disappointed. Hamburgers mushy like they used fillers. Ribs dry-not their old recipe at all.. I don’t mind paying more as I know costs are higher up here but quality and portions declined.

Charlie Clark’s is the best restaurant in town to catch a perfectly grilled steak. My bf, his family & I had dinner at Charlie Clark’s while on vacation. We had dinner there on a Saturday night so it was busy and there was a 30 minute wait but the time flew by while we had a few drinks while waiting in their fun bar. This restaurant only takes reservations for parties of 12 or more so if you are there on a busy night with less than 12 people, you will have to wait a while to get a table. I ordered the Top Sirloin, medium and it was cooked perfectly. The only reason I would not give Charlie Clark’s a 5-star rating is because of how long our food took to be served. We waited at least 40 minutes after appetizers and our starter salad before our actual entrée was served. Other than that, Charlie Clark’s is definitely worth checking out.

Went there last Friday for the fish fry, sure they say«all you can eat» simply because it took an hour to get our orders and half an hour to get any more after. The portion that came with the first order was 2 tiny little peices. The waitress was nice and tried to make things up by offering free soup or salad. When asked to speak to the manager, a very rude lady comes over and basically said” What can I say, the owners are cheap and only have one fryer in the back. We are tring to run stuff for the orchard(an outside bar area in back) and it is busy. What do you want me to do about it?” Really? The second plate of fish that came out was cold and way under cooked because they had not let the fryer get back to temperature before cooking more fish. Since we did not want to get food poisoning we sent it back and left. Never going back!
