A great place to drink if you like to see a familiar face and be treated like a regular every time. The prices are good, there is pool and a patio and always an interestingly mixed but friendly crowd. Bartenders Ashley and Kat and Fallon are my favorites.

I’ve been going to Sammys for quite some time now. Warning: it is a dive bar. There are a lot of regulars — mostly service industry people after a certain hour — as being in the industry myself. Drinks are strong, great daily specials, and attentive bartenders. Pool tables aren’t the best, the patio is a bit grungy, but it’s all about the experience — who cares! If you want bougie and pretentious take yourself to Blue Olive down the road and shut up.

Heads up. If you are not a regular you will get dirty looks. From everyone, including bartenders, which is strange to say the least. We’ve been there twice and witnessed one fight per night. One night there was a pool stick incident then the other night a drunk man making trouble. Oh, and no food.

Cheap drinks. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Good music. No frills. What else do you need? Some complaint here about fight picking? Sounds like a personal issue. I’m new here and no issues.

If you are looking for a local bar to just hang out, have drinks, play pool or wii… then this place will do. Especially if you live in Pineville… this is a good to spot to hang out and listen to music.

I was very uncomfortable. Everyone there looks at you like your from another planet and looking for a fight. I just wanted to play pool and have a drink with my wife and the bartenders are not friendly at all. The regular customers do not like outsiders and let you know it. Drinks are not made properly and the draft beer was warm. Won’t ever go back there

4-stars for a dive. No food, they did have a popcorn machine, but I did not see it the last time we were in. They have fun things like an Easter Egg Hunt and have a jukebox, free pool, and a basketball machine. Fun while you drink!

Definitely a dive bar, but fun if you go with a group. They had live music last night — this unassuming little lady belting out some rock tunes(like Tom Petty) — you go girl! The bartenders were busier than a one-legged man in a fanny-kicking contest, but they were on top of things and provided great service– hope everyone tips them well! This little bar has 2 pool tables, a big deck out back and clean restrooms.

Sammy’s is the best dive bar ever! No food, heavy pours, and free pool… what can be better than that? Not to mention the hottest bartenders around. Basically anything goes and is proclaimed to be the bar«…where the rumors begin.» Even if you aren’t the crazy nighttime party person, you will always be entertained by the stories about those of us that are! If you like a place where you won’t be judged and you can be sitting next to a millionaire or a minimum-wager and never know the difference, Sammy’s is the place to be!

How does one review Sammy’s? On the surface it may not seem like much. It’s a small bar, tucked behind the Carolina Place Mall with free pool and karaōke on Tuesday nights. Once you go inside it not only looks 3 times bigger, but feels exponentially more like home than a bar. This is the quintessential«Cheers» bar for many South Charlotte and Pineville residents. Not everybody at Sammy’s is a regular, but most are. Still if you are new you will be welcomed and offered a drink by one of the fun and friendly staff that everyone knows by name. During football season Sammy’s is packed on Sundays and all year Friday and Saturday nights find the parking lot full. Sammy’s reminds me of a dysfunctional family reunion, you don’t necessarily like everyone, but you gotta love them. «Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name…»
