Beach camping? Yes, please! We spent the weekend at Far East Beach. It was AWESOME. Think of a Caribbean resort, then take away almost everyone else, all the travel, and add some camping. This place is so relaxing and so close to DC Metro! I’m a little hesitant to even write this review for fear that it might become too popular. Remember, you are camping, but you don’t even need a tent, they have some huge ones there you can rent. You’ll definitely need to make reservations on their site though. This is super easy«camping». You pull up and load all your gear on their ATV and they will bring it to your campsite. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They will deliver ice, fire rings, firewood, sometimes even food! They have breakfast ready in the morning. Yeah, doesn’t sound like camping does it? You can walk around the entire place with a drink in hand, and I don’t mean kool-aid. One of the days they made crabs and I bought some. The facilities include hot showers, very clean port-a-potties, a fishing pier, raft, kayak, canoe, and hammock rentals. You can pretty much rent or borrow anything you might need. A couple of warnings: You WILL get sand in your tent. Bugs will still bite you(bring bug stuff). Don’t drive over the bridge that has bamboo on both sides. You will have fun!
