Cindy’s Shear Cuts

This review is for Ann who works at Cindy’s. I called the same day asking to see if she can take me in at 4:45pm since I work next door and at first she didn’t have any appointments at that time which is understandable since it was last minute. She asked if I can come in at 6:30 so I told her that was fine. She called me while I was at work and let me know that an opening at 4:45 was available and so I took it. She first washed my hair and she used cold water and told me that when you use cold water it helps keep the shine and is easier to manage when combing. I told her I wanted to trim my hair a couple inches and then also wanted long layers. She looked at my hair and was very honest with me and said that she didn’t suggest doing long layers since my hair isn’t as thick and I thought that was very helpful and HONEST for her to say. So I ended up trimming 3 inches and she just layered the front of my hair. She blow dried my hair straight and it looked fabulous! I was glad that I read the reviews about Ann an decided to give her a try! She was super friendly, honest, and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for a haircut like most salons! She will be my go too for my next hair appointments!

Cindy is great with haircuts and she is super friendly! She was able to do a wonderful haircut for my toddler without making him uncomfortable which is usually tough with my son lol plus you don’t need much words to explain her whay you want. she reads your mind and delivers you the look you have in your mind! Go for Cindy and you won’t be dissappointed!

I attempted to color my hair on my own. FAILED!Called Cindys for color correction and Ann was super nice on the phone (unlike other places) and she gave a reasonable price. She told me over the phone to make sure I brought food because I could be here for 4+hours.I Appreciated she told me that so I could be prepared. Got there and once she took a look at my hair and said I can’t promise you anything but I’ll try my best to fix it and it could take 5 – 6 hours! Thats how bad it looked lol She did her magic and surprisingly it only took 4 hours and it came out how it should have came out. Never again will I attempt that and The only regret I have is that I should’ve went to Ann first before doing it myself. I could’ve save myself time and money. Oh and she gave the best tips on how to treat my hair also! Loved that! Go to Ann she’s the best!
Oh and another thing, I love the atmosphere in there. All the hairstylists were super friendly!

Ann has cut my hair for almost a year now and I couldn’t be happier. When I first came to her I wanted to keep my length but didn’t have clear direction besides MAKE IT LOOK HEALTHY. Which she did and then some haha. She always double checks with me about the length of the cut I want, and really discusses the pictures I bring in to explain what that would be like on my hair texture (I have fine wavy hair with super frizzy ringlets that form near my temple when the cut is weird). I love that she makes the styles I like work for my hair (:

Anh is the best. Recently I have gotten a couple of my friends to try her, and they are so happy! They have thanked me repeatedly! Anh is great with cuts, styling, color and waxing! She is sweet and fun too! Love this lady!

Ann is wonderful. She is thorough, talented and reasonably priced. My haircuts grow out so well and I always get compliments. Always willing to accommodate at short notice which is a huge plus. Highly recommend!

I have gotten my hair cut/​trimmed here twice and my sister once & we left happy every time. Anne is also my eyebrow lady and does a great job every time. Love it here!

I am sad to write this but I almost cried right out of the chair. I asked to go from a blonde to an Ombré. I even showed her a picture of her own work I found on Unilocal and asked for the exact same thing she had done before. The goal was for my brown hair to grow out and not have harsh dye lines. She refused and said I would hate it and she «knows» her customers and I would be «shocked». Instead I paid 130 for my hair to look identical to before I walked in. The tiny bit of color she put in lasted about a week. While she had a kind spirit, I will not be returning.

Got my hair layered and colored at Cindy Shear Cuts this past weekend. Ann did an amazing job at ombreing my hair a rose gold color. Although I was hesitant at first to try something new, I’m so glad I did!

Ann is seriously the guardian angel of hair. I’ve been growing my hair out for the past 3 years but haven’t gotten to my desired length due to split ends and bad haircuts. She listens to what you want and gives you input. Some people need honest consultations for their desired look because sometimes we don’t know exactly what looks good on ourselves. Ann is obviously an experienced and expert cosmetologist. I just got my haircut and couldn’t wait to write a review. She made my hair look healthier and as if I never got it trimmed. She even waxed my eyebrows and made them look longer and fuller. This was a better salon experience than the fancy ones I go to in SF. She was also way more affordable. If you’re in the Pinole area and need a haircut, Ann is the best hairdresser in town!

This review is long overdue!!! I got a haircut and conditioning /​hot oil treatment because my hair has been damaged for all the hair coloring. I used to go to Anne in another salon In Pinole and when I was looking through Unilocal for a salon, I found Anne here. I was so excited coz I was going to her for years and totally lost in touch. I’m glad I found her. Loved my haircut and treatment. Really soften my hair. The place I was going to does great color but not so much with haircut. And I’m glad that she wasn’t coz i stumbled on Ann.
I definitely recommend her!

Another great experience with Ann! She’s wonderful. I spent 3 hours there this morning and got my hair cut and colored (had fun red peek a boo highlights put in). The staff were all so friendly. I had brought my 2 ½ yr old daughter with me. Not ideal, I know, but she was on her best behavior. She actually got her very first haircut today! Kathy cut it and was super speedy and my daughter felt very comfortable. My daughter was the one who actually wanted to get her hair trimmed. Highly recommend Ann and the other stylists at Cindy’s Shear Cuts.

I’ve gotten a few more days to see the haircut better and maybe she was having a bad morning but I noticed really choppy uneven layers in the front making the front right side of my head look like it has bald patches! The haircut simply was poorly designed and the ends of the front layers are disconnected. Very sad. I’ll have to wait a month for my hair to grow out and then «fix» it at a better salon.

So I don’t usually write reviews but ann deserves one. It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve been looking for a salon In Pinole area. I found Cindy’s shear cuts and many more and decided to go w Cindy since it was down the street from my work and she had great reviews on Unilocal.I walked into Cindy’s and no one greeted me, but there was one hairstylist there working on someone (she could’ve said hi, someone will be w you in a moment). I prolly would’ve stood there for awhile if the manicurist didn’t come back from her break. She came in and called someone from the back and luckily it was ann (I knew it was her cause I saw a pic of her on here beforehand) I got lucky! So she immediately got up and welcomed me to her seat. I was a bit nervous still cause I wanted my hair chopped off very short. I showed her a couple pics of how I wanted it cut. She chopped away about 9 inches of my hair and as she was cutting she would make sure that it’s what I wanted before cutting it any shorter. I totally recommend that if u go to Cindy’s shear cuts ask for ann. Very nice, patient, and will make sure she cuts exactly how you want it at a great affordable price. I will be goin back to her for highlights.

My sister and I needed a haircut for weeks. My salon I normally go was closed so I used Unilocal to see my alternative. .and I am so glad I did! We made an appointment with Ann and OMG, she is soo good and is very passionate in what she does. I totally trusted her skills and she gave me the best haircut and, color and highlights!

After 3 visits with Ann, I am ready to give her a well-​deserved 5-​star review. Ann is really as good as it gets.
Scheduling appointments with her was never a problem. She was always able to accommodate me at short notice. I never felt rushed during my visits. She managed her time well in such a way that I didn’t see her next client waiting while I was still at her chair. I’ve always had her undivided attention.
Her haircuts were easy to maintain and grew out really well. She even gave me tips on how to style my hair differently to give me different looks. The highlights weren’t as expensive to maintain either.
Ever since I’ve let Ann do my hair, I’ve received plenty of compliments. She’s really one talented lady!

My first experience here was great. I was in dire need of a GOOD haircut. Nothing fancy either, just nice long layers with wispy bangs. Heck, I even brought in a picture of what I wanted. To make a long story short, I called and Cindy answered the phone.
She was super friendly immediately and was able to squeeze me in the same day with Cathy.
Cathy was wonderful, she was super friendly and got the job done which is most important. I got my hair washed, conditioned, then cut and styled for $ 28. I walked out of there a happy girl. My hair looks amazing, just what I wanted. I will be going back and bringing my daughter in tow also. Thanks Cathy for the awesome cut, I absolutely LOVE it! You have made a fan of me. =)

From my first experience with Ann: I went to see Ann for a hair color appointment. By the end of it all, I have to say she is one of my most favorite hair stylists! She’s so sweet and talented. When I showed her a photo of what I wanted, she listened attentively and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire time. She went above and beyond my expectation for my hair color, I love loveee my new hair! Definitely recommend seeing Ann, she’s amazing and you’ll love your new hair after seeing her too!
