Kumon Math and Reading Center of Pinole

The one missing star is because this Pinole center takes sooooo long! If I didn’t see results in my student though, I wouldn’t continue. The improvement in my student’s academics is wonderful. This place works for my student.
I just wish this place would be better with time management. What they say takes 20 minutes takes 45 to an hour. If it’s going to take an hour just say that.

I was one of Greta’s students, started when I was in 6^th grade because my parents made me (which is pretty much how most kids get started here right?) and when everyone else quit on the program because it was «too slow» or it was a «waste of time,» I decided to stick through it throughout middle school, high school and even a little bit through college. Because of greta’s guidance, I became top algebra student in my elementary school, I excelled in AP Calculus AB and BC in high school, and never got below 94% in a math class in college. Being a Kumon student was a big factor in that. Until now, I am one of only 2 or 3 of Greta’s students that completed the Kumon Math program.
Parents, always encourage your kids to keep going through the program, because it really does pay out in the end. #truestory.

Greta Chang is an awesome educator! My son is going to kumon and its only been like two weeks, but I feel like he’s learning a lot. I did kumon when I was in high school so I believe in the method. It helped a math-​deficient person like me, to actually get the concepts and formulas so… the method (I believe) works. This specific center is a good one and I am glad my son is in attendance.

I have been to Greta’s Kumon center on multiple occasions.
My observations of the Center:
1. The math program is impressive. After a short time, kids can perform semi-​complex math in their heads. Greta and her staff teach them shortcuts to dealing with fractions, multiplication, and division that I wish I had learned when I was young.
2. The primary instructor, Greta, and her staff are truly committed to teaching, and clearly enjoy the satisfaction of seeing their students learn new skills.
3. Kumon is great for two kinds of students: 1) those who have fallen behind and therefore continue to struggle with their schoolwork, and 2) those who wish to enhance their traditional schooling to get ahead.
4. It’s never too late or too early to start. Kids start as young as 3 and continue through high school. What isn’t helpful is starting and stopping, starting and stopping. The best results are seen through continuous enrollment.
5. I will surely enroll my kids and am confident that the skills they learn from Greta will certainly put them at the top of the class.
My advice to prospective families: Go to an orientation. Meet and talk to Greta. Observe her center in action. Then, make your decision. The results speak for themselves.
