TJ Maxx

I was pleasantly surprised by the TJ Maxx that has decided to join the Pinole Shopping Center. It was relatively clean and had a decent selection for what it was. Unlike many TJ Maxx’s, the items were not priced higher than local Marshalls and Ross. So, I was glad to know that they weren’t up-​charging for the slightly better cleanliness.
+ They had a huge selection of Batiste dry shampoo which seems impossible to find at local CVSes, Walgreens, and Targets
+ Decent home décor and good section, which I love (hey, better yet, open a HomeGoods)
— Their clearance section, post-​Christmas was a bit of a mess

I really loved shopping at TJMaxx until I had a really bad experience with one of the staff members.
I had come in before a weekend trip up north to buy a new phone case for my iPhone 6. When I cam in the past they had a great selection of cases, but this time they didn’t. I really needed a case, so I bought one that I liked but I could’ve found better at F21 or UO! The case I bought was 9 $. When I got to my car to put it on my phone, the case wouldn’t let me use my AUX or charging cable in my car, so obviously I wanted to return it.
I went back into the store to return and the cashier was like «you’re really going to return an item you just bought?» And I told her well obviously if it won’t work with my cables. She was honestly so rude, I wish I remembered her name. She returned the money and didn’t even ask if I wanted cash back since I paid with a debit card. She was so upset that she actually had to do work! LOL. This TjMaxx has lost my business for sure, and I definitely don’t recommend anyone shopping and this store because of the very poor service. The store has a lot of cool things, but if the employees suck, not even going to both looking around anymore! (:

It’s decent. Good selection in my opinion. Didn’t really go through the shoe section but found a nice variety of office casual wear. I’ll be back!

The worse tj maxx ever. the customer service there is obsolete. They are rude, and are just there for a paycheck. they need to restaff everyone.

Best customer service! The workers were upbeat and happy even though it was near closing time. Keep hiring exemplary employees like the ones tonight!

When I have a return I directly go to checkout line before my shopping. There were two cashiers and only one customer to pay in front of me. I waited in line and cashier 3 called me. I told her that I had a return and she told me that she was sorry that she is new and can’t take my return. I went back to the line. By then cashier (#6) in front of me was finished with her customer but for some reason she wanted to ignore me. She was standing and not doing anything nor calling me to help but watching the store. Cashier #3 saw me standing and told cashier #6 that I hade a return. Finally cashier #6 decides to help.
I didn’t have my receipt. She asked for my ID. She looked at my Id/​photo and me, it was a match. She asked to see if my address was current. I said yes even though it wasn’t thinking who cares and I asked if I should expect anything in mail. She typed everything on my ID. I followed her fingers on the keyboard. My ID#, address, first/​last name, DOB and skipped my height, weight. All this was for a $ 3 something nail clipper return. She gave me a store credit. (I have given cash because of the small amount before)
I felt like I was trying to return something I picked from inside. I did returns many times before and never ever questioned or experienced this much pressure.
Lets say company policy has changed and all she did was right. Standing in front of her and getting ignored is still a NO. That day I spent $ 180 and checked out from jewelry dept.
This person has to improve her customer service skills. Oakland police dept is also hiring!

Great store addition to the Pinole area! Good sized store, great clothing selection and wonderful prices. The staff is also very friendly and helpful!

Nice selection of clothing but there customer service is horrible. I visit this location quite frequently, but never had a bad experience prior. Maybe there’s new management /​employee’s, but whatever it is, needs to be changed. First offense: about 3 female employees were by the jewelry section discussing an issue that they had with a customer while being on the floor. They were loud and didn’t care. I find that to be very unprofessional to discuss issues about customers period. Second offense: went to purchase a blouse that had a stain on it, expecting some kind of accommodation and when my cashier went to ask another employee if I could be accommodated she ((Melissa) rudely said no! «and the guy that I had chuckled and repeated what he was told. My issue is that Melissa didn’t even try to explain, or be nice about her response. So at this point I’m offended at the. Customer service or the lack there of. So at that point I asked why, the. She told me. Still rude as ever! After I left I called to speak to a manager, who was very nice and professional who after a few minutes she said she would give me a discount which is
I don’t know if management is aware of there rude and unprofessional employees but if not, well… They will soon enough. Definitely wont be going out of my way to come to this location anymore. Customer service is everything!

No. It’s clean but it has no selection at all. Shoes? No. Career wear? No.
Basically it’s all about shampoo and One Direction perfume, and now that Zayn is gone, that perfume looks a little melancholy.

I called and talked to Jordan who said this store has 3 managers Carmela, Jaimie and Aisha. I found out that Aisha is the General Manager. I want everyone in the East Bay to know the «Below Poor Customer Service» this store provides. My experience was with Carmela who is confrontational, rude and lacks of skills to be in a management position. I bought an item that had a small hole defect so I asked for a discount because of it and got 4 dollars off a $ 50 dollar item (they did not have any more of the same thing i wanted on the floor. So I got home and the item had another item missing so I went back to the store to do some more shopping and i mentioned to the teller my experience and she said to me: «If you bring the receipt i will give you an additional discount, comeback on Monday and she apologized to me» So I was happy that she heard my concern so I went back on Monday and showed the teller my receipt, she said let me just get the approval so she brought Carmela over to approve the transaction to my surprise she said she cannot give me another discount since she had given me $ 4.00 off before, she didn’t want to listen that it was also a missing item, her tone of voice and attitude lacked politeness and customer service empathy so I said I came here because your employee said for me to come on Monday to which I was shocked to hear «there is no way you couldn’t talk to her yesterday because she was off» with a feisty and disrespectful attitude and walked away and left me there. I feel very unwelcome at this store because of this person who is supposed to be a role model for employees. No good customer skills at all” Stay away form this place until they fix their leadership member” «Carmela does not have good intentions in helping this business make a good impact in our community and wants to treat us with disrespect and get away with it» I want to have regional manager call me to voice out my concern and my experience about this new store in my community.

This store is farily new so they have a lot of nice stuff! I hope they keep bringing all the good mechandise here bcz this is really all there is for shopping in this area! The store is clean and the staff is very nice. I come here at least once a week to see whats new.

Clothes and home options good. Con that will prevent me coming back is having the checker talk poorly about her co worker as she rung me up. Tacky.

The first TJ MAXX I went to that is not over stocked. Everything is organized, clean, and a good supply of name brand items. I had to buy 3 presents for 3 different people and I was able to get it all in one store.

I am so glad that I don’t haw to go all the way out to Concord to go to a TJ Maxx now! This one is clpse to my house and the fact that it is brand new is even better! The store is located between Staples and BevMo. There is plenty of parking and every time I have here there is parking right in front and the store is practically empty.
The store is really spacious (smaller than Comcord though) & have different sections. The larest sections here are the home improvement and purses sections. Everything else, Junior section, baby section, shoe, purses, & jewelry section are on the small side. I’ve noticed that they dont much selection in the juniors department or clearence items here.
The staff are all really nice here. Greet you and ask you if you are finding everything OK. The place is well lit but it cam get rather cold in there, especially in the dressing rooms. The dressing rooms are clean & well lit! Overall a great store & will come back!

Very new and clean. not so Wow’ed by their general inventory. scanned clothes, home décor, skin care, and shoes.
Couldn’t find it at first when pulled off Fitzgerald. It’s all the way in the corner, by BevMo and BabiesR Us!
Did find some great clearance items though… nice to grab and help get the inventory off their hands. Bought Lanocrème from NZ… at Melbourne’s International airport, same product cost me an arm and a leg there. Here, it was under $ 10!

Finally got to check this place out! I’m usually skeptical about discounted shops like these because I’ve experienced some chaotic and messy stores. So imagine my relief when I walked into a spacious, organized and clean TJ Maxx!
I was greeted by a warm smile and a genuine «how are you today». Racks are organized by size and clothes are actually put away in the right size sections. (If you’re a regular at these type of stores, you know that many racks are disorganized and you find yourself going through the entire rack to find your right size!) Dressing rooms are neat with mirrors everywhere.
I chose to gave it 4 stars because they need more selections on their floor, granted they just recently opened. Regardless, I’m excited for this store to succeed. I hope they maintain their cleanliness and organization! I will definitely be returning.

I’ve only been here once so far, and I loved the bath/​body selection. It seems like this store is fairly similar to Ross or Marshalls but is a bit more expensive. Although I enjoyed my visit here, I doubt that it will become a common shopping place for me as it is a bit more expensive than other places with more or less the same product selection.

Please keep this PINOLE location clean! It’s just a few months since it opened and it already feel like a ROSS store! I’ve always shopped at your store due to I feel like it’s a higher calibre compared with other shops but this one, no! stuff are all over the place, sizes are all mixed up! It feels like no one’s keeping the place in order. Walmart in Richmond seems more organized than this place.

TJ Maxx moved to the location where Staples used to be located. Staples moved a few doors down where Aaron’s used to be located. TJ Maxx is the high-​end discount store where you buy all your luxury designer brands without breaking your Kool-​Aid budget! Lol! Shhhh! It’s a well-​known secret amongst shopaholics!

My sister and I were so excited to finally get a tj maxx near us! We’ve gone quite a few times since we went to the Grand opening. Overall the store is very clean and organized and the staff are really friendly. The only thing is that the shoe section is not as good as the marshalls in el cerrito. The handbag section is really good though and I really appreciate the jewelry and accessories which marshalls does not have. Love this place! More shopping will occur no doubt.
