Courteous staff and an EXCELLENT balloon sculptor(on Mondays, I believe). But be advised — despite what Unilocal and the McDonalds website indicate, there is no Playland here.(looks like it’s been turned into an employee lounge)

This place is most certainly run by clowns. Get it? I hate their dinner menu. I have a soft kryptonian weakness for Egg McMuffins though. This particular McD’s earned my loyalty by offering late night breakfast after midnight. Awesome right? Then they cut back late night breakfast to the weekends only. Lame. So I went there on a Friday jonesing to get my McMuffin fix. To my surprise they now inform me that THEYDON“T DOTHATANYMORE. Well I won’t be back. Weak. Sauce.

I’ve never come here and not had to turn my car off from waiting so long. I’m not sure they understand what the«fast» in fast food means. I find it especially annoying that there’s little to no consistency in serving policies, e.g. The last two times I came here I got a different story about their midnight breakfast. Now they apparently don’t serve it at all. To add insult to injury, I’m waiting, for what’s been ten minutes now, stuck behind somebody who decided to try their luck here tonight. The worst.

Was back in my hometown this weekend for a softball tournament over on the old Camp Kilmer site. After the first day, on the way home, my daughter and I just wanted to grab some fast food rather than having a nice sit down dinner(her team didn’t play well and she really just wanted to get home). Now, I’ve had fond memories of this McDonald’s since it was our go-to place in high school as one of my friends worked there. Food wasn’t ever any different than any other McDonald’s, other than it was a lot cheaper… if you get my drift. Service was usually terrible, but the food was always good(McDonald’s IS good food for a kid in high school). This McDonald’s was also the first place I ever had an Egg McMuffin-I remember my Dad bringing me here for breakfast before he put me to work one Saturday morning in the mid-late 1970s. Anyway, we stopped at the drive thru and my daughter ordered two grilled chicken wraps(with just chicken, lettuce and ranch dressing), a small fries and a sprite(and I threw in a medium fries). A pretty straight forward order if you ask me, right? Of course not. The chicken wraps came with pickles and tomatoes and the order took almost 10 minutes to receive. I don’t get it… how can this order take 10 minutes? One car in front of me and it took 10 minutes. Luckily, I can’t complain about the food-my daughter loved the wraps after removing the pickles and tomatoes and the fries were perfect. The taste saved their third star-otherwise they would have gotten two.

This McDonald’s has been here for over 20 years and has been a staple on Stelton Road for as long as I can remember. Its a chain, so the food is on par with anywhere else you’d go and the prices are standard for the area. The ingress and egress of the lot annoys me. If you make a right turn in from Stelton, the slope in is a bit steep and you need to watch for the drive through exit traffic at the same time. The lot is configured to have 45 degree parking, making the lot one way around the building, which is inconvenient if you come in from the more accessible back entrance, which is not undergoing any road repars. This location has an indoor playground, which was installed when I was old enough to play in the ball pit. The décor has barely been touched since and its a lot darker in the restaurant than I remember. That said, you won’t get sick from the food and the people are okay at their job. So don’t be scared of it.

This place has racial tones. The manager is Indian. The workers are Caucasian and African American, as well as most being college students. I went in for a dipped cone with my son and what I noticed is a manager that has no respect for his staff. He was an angry tyrant, bossing around everyone. One employee had the nerve(in a positive way, I say), to say«Do you really think I don’t listen? The only place I tend not to listen is school. Do you not believe me? Do you not trust me?» and he said it all in a non-confronting manner from a bit of a distance. The manager did not respond. Simply ignored the fact that his staff has little faith in him. It seemed like he was very angrily discussing disciplinary actions with an employee in the back. He berates the employees. This manager should be fired! I actually said to an employee as he finished up cleaning and walked by «he’s pretty rough, huh?» and he just rolled his eyes and said something like«yeah». Give no respect, get no respect. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a high turnaround in employees here. Sad, very very sad that people would treat people this way. This older manager probably felt like he deserved the respect. Age is not a factor. This man needs to be talked to about his behavior towards employees.
