This was some of the best food I have had in a very long time. Was with some girlfriends out of town for the weekend and was recommended this spot. They have a very decent selection of both breakfast and lunch as well as coffee and pastries. I got a crab sandwich and was blown away. The amount of crab and quality was amazing and the aioli type sauce went perfect with it. The bread was almost Texas toast like and the sandwich was huge. Also they make their own fries which were very good too. Others in our group got the egg sandwich which was extremely generous and appears to have at least 3 – 4 eggs on it and on the same bread that the crab sandwich came on. Another gal got the chunky monkey pancakes and they probably were the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. It was massive and had at least 4 pancakes, chocolate chips, tons of banana, some form of nut, fresh butter and the best part was a glaze on the bottom that kind of reminds you of a donut. The food here was not disappointing in the least. I got a slice of red velvet bundt cake for the road and again was blown away at the quality. The person working at the time was super friendly and relaxed and I would hands down come back in the area just for this place.

The strawberry shortcake pancakes were delectable! Customer service was lacking. I shall return to try other menu items.

I ordered the hash with brisket with eggs and an Iced tea, the iced tea tasted like sugar water and I found a hair in my food, plus they got my mom’s order ring so not the best experience.

Boo! Drove 20 min out of my way to get here and it’s closed, despite Unilocal listing it as open from 6:30AM. No hours posted on the door, so I can’t even provide correct info, or wait to see.

Had an amazing breakfast here today. I had the traditional Eggs Benedict and the wife had the French Toast. The EB were huge, Hollandaise was on point and there was plenty of ham under each egg. It came with some house made fresh potatoes fries. Honestly, I only had about two fries because the EB were so large. I’d order this dish again in a heartbeat. The wife had the French toast which came loaded with fruit on top and instead of a traditional maple syrup, it came with a glaze that covered the fruit and the French toast. It was amazing! This place isn’t large and most of the seating is outside. The service is great, The coffee was made just perfectly and the food was excellent.

It has been awhile since in, but timing worked out to stop by for brunch. Had my favorite«the hangover». Still love the flavors, but proportions are quite a bit smaller and prices quite a bit higher. For those reasons, dropping to 3 star. The hangover and green tea $ 18

We’d go here once a month as we live an hour away but the food was so good. The place wasn’t the cleanest and its $$$ but the breakfast burrito and pancakes we craved. The last time we drove all that way and they were closed randomly. This time we tried calling, phone number is inactive. Took a chance and they were open yay! But they didn’t take credit cards :(luckily there’s an atm next door but of course a fee to pull cash out. Burrito was Not the same, that was not salsa verde and topping it with dill??? Pancakes were under cooked and gooey inside and topped with syrup, we’ve never had them topped with syrup. We were looking forward to the vanilla glaze. Last time there. Seems like they are falling apart and probably closing soon anyways. It was good while it lasted.

Service was bad. Restaurant was filthy. No credit card, no atm. The beverage coolers were empty, 3 out of 5 coffee jugs were empty. And the cashier didn’t know what a «café au lait» was. Yet she made it. Food was good though.

I wasn’t able to try it out because they were closed on an early Saturday afternoon. It sounds like I’m not the only one that is annoyed by this. What are the hours at this place? Please post them on your door or change your website.

Used to be 5 stars before they remodeled and changed their menu. Now their egg sandwich is really disappointing and their bacon like mcdonalds Their coffee is delicious!

The eggs Benedict was super dry and I didn’t know it was possible to make dry eggs Benedict but it was. The bread was dry. Also comes with house potatoes, they potatoes were slimy. This is probably the worst Benedict I have ever had. The chef comes out as I’m picking at it and says«how is the crab Benedict? It’s good right» I was like no not at all and he didn’t even bother to hear that lol. He just walked off. I was really disturbed about the slimy potatoes. Didn’t know what that was about, I didn’t touch that. Sure the eggs were huge because the use two huge slices of white bread, but it was dry bread, the crab was bland and the hollandaise sauce wasn’t anything to cheer about. I would rather have quality food than quantity. The people seemed nice, but then again I don’t know about them either. Got a wierd vibe from them and my intuition is right for the most part. All and all I won’t ever be back there when I’m in pismo.

I can’t believe this place is still open. Literally. The last three times I’ve tried to go it’s been closed despite their hours posted online. Once it sort of looked open but a rude worker told us they were closed even though it was 12pm, then proceeded to grab a hug slice of cake and eat it. I used to adore this place. I’ve had the best blueberry pancakes there. They really had such great food but everything seems to be going downhill fast. The customer service was never, ever good but you could put up with that fact as long as you got your food and it was amazing. Now I’m not even sure when or if they are open. I’m hoping they start to care about their business a little more!

We were excited to try this place because it was recommended in a Sunset Magazine road trip book and they had a lot of nice things to say about the place. Seaside Café has the potential to be five stars but unfortunately our experience did not go well. Here is a list is what went down: Everything the book recommended to order they were out of. They wouldn’t honor the 15% off a drink promo they had on Unilocal when you check in. It’s only what 30 cents or something but then don’t have the promo! The blueberry pancakes we ordered came out burnt. They did have a good amount of blueberries on there. Sigh, so much potential. They were out of sweet potato for the goddess burrito so we settled for regular potatoes. The burrito was good but couldn’t save the rest of the experience. The heaters didn’t work and it was a very chilly morning so we had to sit inside where the music was super loud. They couldn’t figure out how to turn it down so they just turned it off. On a positive note– they are dog friendly.

I couldn’t even try the coffee or anything here due to them being closed. No signs and no staff while we waited for like 5+ minutes. Pretty disappointing. I definitely would like a sign or maybe updated hours on Unilocal if their business hours are going to change.

When I moved here 7 years ago from Chicago I was so excited to discover this adorable beach café with good, fresh food and great coffee – unfortunately I’ve never had a great experience here. Not once. I continued to go, thinking it would get better, the food and coffee were good, but service always missed the mark. I tried to love this place, but I’m done trying. I don’t think elaborate explanations about«why» would matter, so I share this review for those passing through town looking at the pictures and expecting something much better than what they will surely experience. Other options? Depending on what you want, I love Éclair’s Bakery(strictly a bakery, but awesome!) or Comfort Market(great food! but iffy service) both in Arroyo Grande. A lot of friends like Lido for brunch, but I’m not crazy about their dinners and haven’t gone for brunch. Or go to SLO for Sidecar or Granada – always great!

I came here on the recommendation of a friend as we drove down from Monterey. They must have gone years ago and I’m guessing the menu was different. It was not what we expected. Staff was nice but service was slow and food was not good. Everyone in our group thought it was a wasted chance to try a new place in a nice beach town. I am adding a second star because they were kind enough to appologize for the delay and comp my kids a hot chocolate. Hope this place can turn things around.

This is more a 2.5 than an actual 2, but I always round down. The stars can be deceptive otherwise. I had high hopes for this place. It has great reviews on line and the pictures look great. The prices are definitely high for a simple breakfast/brunch place where you order at the counter, find a table(in a small place) and wait for the food to come out. The disappointment was the chicken and waffles and that really set the tone. Being told that the chicken and waffles are«phenomenal» it was an utter let down. First it took about 30 minutes for the food to come out, okay, fine. But when the food arrives and it’s not chicken and waffles but chicken and«pancakes,» ick it’s disgusting. Waffles and pancakes are not synonymous. The pancakes were thick and not airy. Too sweet. Doused in maple syrup. The chicken was one measly piece of fried chicken breast. That’s it. Not even a whole breast. A partial breast. It was dry. The crust was not good. It would have been helpful to be told in advance, even after the food was ordered that the waffle maker was broken. You don’t just do a substitution without advising a guest, especially when it’s a material part of the plate, come on! Chicken and WAFFLES, not chicken and pancakes! Expressing disappointment to the staff/owner, all he could say was«if you decide to come back next time, your meal is on me.» Thanks. How about you just comp what we ordered but wasn’t served. I’m not returning ever.
