Td Bank

I had an account here since I was a kid, when it was Commerce Bank. Commerce was terrific. And while they seem to have kept the convenient hours and the cool coin-​counting machine*, the free accounts are no longer free.
I’d still be with TD, though, if I lived near a branch. Had to stop in recently to close an account that had been dormant for some time. Staff were friendly and helpful. They closed my account quickly and didn’t pressure me to keep an account open.
My favorite feature of TD/​Commerce: debit cards made on-​site. I lost my wallet once, and I was in and out of a branch with a new card (with my name imprinted on it) within minutes. Now THAT is convenience.
*I took that machine for granted until I moved to a town where banks don’t have coin counters.
