Living in Philadelphia, weekend getaways usually involve a trip to New York City or the NJ shore. But this weekend, my sweetie and I went to Pitman, NJ, and we had the best time! We took a winery/vineyard tour at Heritage Winery, had a fabulous dinner at Sweet Lula’s(and met Lula and her chef/puppeteer husband), and the highlight of it all was staying at The Inn on Holly. Yvonne and her family were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The room was immaculate and beautiful(loved the paintings of 1920s era ladies), and the whole house had such a warm, comfortable feel. Coffee and a decadent breakfast were ready for us in the morning. I definitely recommend this spot! It’s only about a twenty minute drive from Philly, the perfect«stay-cation» :)

This part of New Jersey offers little in the way of lodging — happily the Inn on Holly situated in the quaint town of Pitman is the perfect setting for a getaway or for a short commute to working in Philly. Yvonne has recently remodeled this Victorian home — each room has its own lovely character. Yvonne fixes a great breakfast and helps you with any travel details — she even helped me steam my rumpled clothes! I enjoyed being within walking distance of downtown Pitman which is loaded with fabulous restaurants and shops. Why stay in a chain hotel with no character when you can live in the lap of luxury at the Inn?

I stayed here when all the hotels were booked in Philadelphia. The inn is very cute and about a 20 – 25 minute drive from Philly. The inn is very french country style and the owner is very nice and keeps it very well. She’s very friendly and it was a comfortable stay. For breakfast she served a fresh fruit and yogurt parfait with coffee and orange juice. It was very good and the fruit was great, much better than what I would have been getting at a hotel. She even added a chocolate dipped strawberry which was super yummy. The rooms were comfortable and had cable and internet, towels and bath robes. The owner is a make up artist so the bathroom had better than average soaps and shampoos. There was definitely some bumble and bumble hair care products in mine! All and all the stay was nice and the service was great. I would definitely come again if/when I go back to Philly!
