Pittsboro Feed

Feed. Yep — Feed for horses, birds, chickens, and «killing feed» for those pesky pests we all want fewer of … but not feed for dogs or cats (who have their own store across the road). Mix that up with garden supplies and some general farm and ranch supplies, you have a well-​rounded store for country life or a laid-​back city life. This is a country store at heart, though, I think. While they have things you’ll find at any lawn and garden center, it’s the ranch and farm things, with a focus on horses and chickens it appears, that take Pittsboro Feed a different and interesting direction for city-​folk.
It’s a fun store to explore, actually. There’s ordinary things, like bird seed and feeders and block salt, and a few not so ordinary, like baby chicks (at certain times of year) and heaters for outside waterers. Day-​to-​day items stay stocked, but it’s the seasonal items that make this a store to visit at every time of year. It’s a laid back store, with everything needed for lawn, garden, farm or ranch.
And Bandit, the cutest bunny around, is right there soaking up the atmosphere and watching it all.
