The Spa at Fearrington

Don’t get me wrong, any massage is a good massage and a privilege to have. I recognize that.
My mom treated me to a relaxing day of massages and lunch in Fearrington Village. We started off the day here with a massage. It’s an interesting set-​up. The bathrooms and showers are located in the same room as the massage, something new to me. My masseuse escorted me to the room and then introduced me to the features… a full bathroom, shower/​tub, toilet, full vanity, and massage bed. She added that the bathroom was for my full use both before and after the massage. I was thinking about when I would take advantage of the luxury when she told me she would leave the room and wait for me to change and get on the table. This left me no time to use the shower. So because she had earlier told me that I could use it, I figured I would be able to at some point.
So after the massage, which was fairly good. again, no complaints at the opportunity to have those kinks worked out, instead of allowing me time to make use of the facilities she told me she would give me time to change and be waiting outside with my water. This told me that I need to put my clothes on and get the heck out. I thought I was just feeling rushed and maybe making all of this up but my mom had the same experience. As we were leaving she told the lady at the front desk that this was her one complaint – that we had no time to enjoy our room… and the lady told her pretty plainly that they had massages lined up after ours so we didn’t really have time for that.
But isn’t that what we paid for? Who doesn’t factor in extra time to allow people to shower and change after a massage? I have never heard of this. Just thought it was worth mentioning…

Decided to try this spa for a massage, while my regular spa was closed for renovations this summer. It’s been hard to find a replacement, as most establishments are kept dark in the room, and naturally, one is left wondering, what’s hiding? This one is lit well and attention paid to decorating. I had quite a relaxing massage, after a fun day of shopping the local establishments.

I had the best mani/​pedi of my life with Debra the other day. She was gentle and attentive. She got all the dead skin off, and I’m a bigger girl so that takes awhile! She took her time and made it feel like a real spa treatment. I was really impressed by her professionalism. I will always recommend Debra and I will be back!
