What are some of the main reasons someone decides to go to the gym? To lose weight in a supportive environment. Over the last year I gain a tremendous amount of weight(40lbs) due to medical reasons, stress, and new relationship. So, when I finally got the«get up and go» mentality and stopped kicking myself in the butt, I decided to try out this Curves location. It is close to home, I wouldn’t have to worry about guys oggling at my jiggles, etc. Now, I am somewhat young compared to the usual age for Curves. However, I have an issue with Self-Esteem. Now, when you’re filling out the paperwork and the individual helping you does not put down the weight you are usually at(Prior to weight gain) actually 10lbs over, one begins to wonder. I brushed it off. Prior to the weight gain I never went over 125lbs. And that was after a major gain of 20lbs to be healthy. I miss my 125lb self and want to get back down to it. I’ve never had an issue with losing weight and recently lost 8 pounds prior to signing up for a free pass. Now when someone asks you what your goal dress size is, and you respond with«I’d like to get back down to my 5⁄6 or 7⁄8 size. Do you expect someone from this establishment to tell you to be REALISTIC?! NO. The funny thing is, I am only 4 sizes away from this and she was dead serious. She was quite rude about it and frankly it really hurt my feelings. For someone who is trying to work on their weight issues, be healthy, and is in search of a supportive environment… This is not the place to go to. I will never recommend this place to any one, especially since this has also happened to one of my friends at this particular location, as well.
