Évaluation du lieu : 3 Pittsburg, CA
Oh Parkside, you have landed on the map. Well, maybe not but you have debuted on Unilocal — YAY for that!!! Many of my family members and friends live here or are from here. It’s really nice driving by and seeing your peeps. So many memories made in this lil’ hood, and yes, when I say lil’- I mean teenie. There are some newer developments that have been added too. They do make Parkside look a lil’ prettier. I first lived here when I moved to Pittsburg and it was culture shock! It’s one thing to visit and another to live. It’s too hard to describe a culture without offending anyone so I’ll just leave it at that. I gotta rep Bruno Avenue tho, HEEEY! This hood is named after the main road«N. Parkside Dr.» which is an extension of Willow Pass Rd. and runs parallel with the train tracks. It is a convenient location in Pittsburg with the freeway entrance and exit close by. This hood is not the«nicest» part of Pittsburg but it’s not the worst either. I somewhat agree and disagree with the last review… There really isn’t a «nice» place in Pittsburg — just«nicer!» — Yes, ghetto is everywhere but you can’t tell me there are not places more ghetto than others(like The«LO — which stands for the Pueblo projects, a different hood in Pitt!). Let’s get REAL. You’d have to be naïve not to think there’s a difference. That’s what Unilocal is all about. Since I consider myself to be a local, and lived in many parts of Pittsburg; I can vouch for that. I have eyes too, bigger ones at that and I will tell you why Parkside is not so much«nicer.» There are people constantly dumping garbage or unwanted furniture on Parkside Dr. It makes me so angry to see that. I wish the city could build a fence or something to help prevent this. I try especially hard not to judge but it’s so apparent here. City park is fail too. They were supposed to spend our tax dollars to improve this park. I even attended the City Council meeting. So far, nada. The older neighborhoods are not high in value. Most of them are very small, have flat top roofs and one car garages. The list can go on but that’s my summary. I guess the nice or not-so-nice(depending on what you like) about being in Parkside is that it’s rare people call the cops. OK — That sounds kinda bad but it has it’s pluses. You can have your music blastin’ all night and the party usually keeps going. 4th of July? No problem, come to Parkside and watch it get lit up with illegal fireworks. Don’t get me wrong the cops still come by and patrol and all but everyone is doing their own thang.
