I wasn’t so impressed. I had fried chicken, mac n cheese, greens and cornbread. the mac n cheese n greens were bland. I had to season them myself at home. The cornbread was hard, crumbly and tasteless. The chicken was pretty good, but it was quite a bit of fat on the breast. I also had potato salad, it was okay, but again bland and needed to be seasoned for some kind of taste. I will try this place again. Although there is really no excuse, I did go near closing so I will give it the benefit of the doubt.

I am sooooo glad this place closed down. The best Soul Food in the area is Stellas. Plan B had horrible food and services.

Super sad that I drove there yesterday because they weren’t answering their phones. come to find out THEYARENOLONGERINBUSINESS. Now maybe they are remodeling?!? LOL Not sure but there was no sign to indicate that they are. Found a new soul food restaurant in Antioch, I won’t put there name on this restaurants’ post but it’s on Contra Loma and I’ve written a review on it.

Fantastic place to fill the Soul with some Soul. The Alligator is a must to try! The Chicken and Prawns were perfectly cooked and made with cornmeal breading; just like it should be.

Waste of time & gas! Not sure if they closed down or were just closed. We drove out there for nothing.

My husband and I went to Plan B last night and had a very good first impression. Service: very friendly and attentive. We waited for about 25 minutes, but our food came out freshly cooked. Actually, I had to wait for my chicken to cool down a little. Food: absolutely awesome!!! I had a ‘two way’: chicken, fish, black eyed peas and rice with gravy. I never eat fried chicken, but this one was delicious; very crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The fish was the same, crispy and very flavorful. Side dishes were so good that I finished both and the cornbread(a lot of food) My husband had a ‘three way’ with alligator, fish and prawns. He chose as sides mashed potatoes, red beans and rice, and hush puppies. He loved everything. We got coconut cake and peach cobbler to go. I had my cake later and it was one of the best cakes I have ever had. I wish I could eat food this good everyday. However, it would show around my waist and I am kind of vain. We will repeat soon though. I highly recommend this place.

Great food, so authentic! Loved the greens and I’ve never had better friend chicken in my life. Just moved to the area and I’m glad to see there are great resturants here. Also friendly staff. Reasonable prices.

They get a fifth star because it was the first time I ever devoured the skin on Southern fried chicken. This is good stuff(and I lived for years in the South). If you get a chance to try the homemade hot sauce, do. If they have the coconut cake, order it(I’m not usually a fan). Service is friendly and accommodating, but they have a small staff and you may find things moving very slowly(or that something has run out early). Come in with a relaxed attitude and don’t fuss. Ambience isn’t much, but I don’t mind…

The food is amazing and the services is even better! I had the chicken and fries, and my boyfriend ordered the rib dinner. Both were GREAT!!! The hush puppies were excellent, and the peach cobbler is out of this world!!! We will definitely be repeat customers.

So my husband and I moved to the area not too long ago and are still exploring the town and seeing what it has. We were told about this place and decided to give it a try. We decided to ignore the reviews that say chicken is dry and all that. We are sooo glad we did. The food is delicious! The red beans and rice were my favorite! I got the chicken and waffles and i was FAAAR from disappointed! Chicken was not dry at all! We all enjoyed our food EXCEPT for the corn bread. It was dry for my taste :) but thats fine still tasted good! Haha Thank you Plan B!!!

Went here for breakfast with the family on Sat. Morning. The food was on point!, My husband had the chicken and waffles, while I had the ham and eggs w/grits. Everything was good. The chicken and waffles were almost as good as Roscoes in L. A,! The chicken was fresh, juicy with a crispy bite. The waffle was flavorful with a hint of cinnamon. Overall We were very satisfied. I was so satisfied that I went back the next afternoon for dinner. I ordered the 3 way with chicken, prawns and catfish. The catfish was perfect!!! The prawns were a bit overcooked, but still tasty. The sides: Mac n cheese, greens, red beans & rice and potatoe salad were all good, but could use a bit more spice and/or flavor. My husband ordered the smothered pork chops, and he was satisfied. Overall this is a great place. The prices are reasonable and the food is really good. I will definitely be back. often!

at a taste of sou, the cashier is probably also the owner as well as being the fry cook also. he’s quite the prankster. he was tellling his patrons(who i assume to be his regulars) that he had already closed since it was new year’s eve. after the patron looked crestfallen and dejected. the cashier would say«but i’m going to serve you anyways»… i did not remember if he tried it on me. i was too busy figuring out the listen to what he was saying. eats: — piece chicken w.2 sides(7.95) chicken tasted, but meat dry and tasteless, seems chicken previously cooked then fried. –dirty rice tasted like some gravy mixed in with the rice and some spices. semisweet to the palate. bits of ground beef present. first time for me. really liked it. –potato salad potatoes cut into small pieces with minced peppers and cilantro garnish. taste very good. better than commercially made. fry notes: –alligator bites(6.95) on menu, intriguing –sides tasted better than chicken –seems different main entress every day. –a few tables available for sitdown.

This is a great Mom & Pop down home style place. The gator nuggets are wonderful as was the chicken. Reasonable prices, great Mac and cheese, pure heaven. You won’t be hungry again for hours. Highly recommended.

Saw this place on Unilocal so I stopped by to try the Fried Chicken Wings with the green beans and hush puppies. Loved the chicken and atmosphere. Very clean interior with two flat screen tv’s. I met LeRoy the chef and he has cooked int the french quarter of New Orleans. Green beans were ok and might have been out of a can but were acceptable. The hush puppies were crisp and good and the tasty chicken was crispy and hot hot hot. Will try them out again for sure. They have other items on the menu I want to try like BBQ ribs and much more. A welcome addition to Pittsburg. Oh yeah they are in a small strip mall off of Railroad Ave. They have been open for about a year.

Great service, yummy food and the majority of the dinners are under $ 10. My order of catfish, hush puppies, greens and mac and cheese came out with everything piping hot so I was very happy right away… everything was good except the hush puppies were a bit dry. Also, as I was packing up my leftovers, an employee came over and gave me a to go container of fresh of mac n cheese. He said he wasn’t happy with the batch I had and I thought that was really nice!

This review is for their desserts only. I am a huge fan! Sweet Potato Pie and their cakes are awesome. They give you a nice size piece too :) Pick up Bentoya sushi for dinner and get some dessert next door at Plan B is always my Plan A.

My father and I had stumbled across this place as we had plans to go to a nearby Mexican restaurant. We saw this place across the parking lot and thought about coming back here to try out this soul food restaurant. For years, we had been looking for a soul food restaurant. It seems as though every time we find a place it has either been closed or the reviews of the place are pretty bad. We decided to give Plan B a chance and check them out. We came by for dinner with a coworker and dined in. The restaurant is pretty clean with a couple of tv’s and contemporary décor. When you walk in, you can smell the delicious aroma of the food being cooked in the back.(Be prepared to walk out smelling like the food). The waiter was very friendly, although service was a bit slow(they looked to be understaffed). I ordered the chicken and waffles(4.5÷5)(comes with hush puppies). The chicken was fried perfectly. Very moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The waffle had just the right amount of crunch and tasted delicious with the chicken and syrup. The hush puppies were perfectly fried and had the right amount of spice to it(5⁄5). I also ordered a side of mac and cheese(4⁄5) that was tasty, and side of yams that was not overly sweet and had some cinnamon in it to give it a little kick(4⁄5). My father ordered the special which was meat loaf. The meat loaf he enjoyed quite a bit and was impressed by the flavoring of the meat loaf. The meat loaf came with mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn bread. He also ordered a side of black eyed peas which he said were delicious. Our friend ordered the smothered pork chops and they were absolutely falling off the bone. He said that they were very good and juicy. He had ordered a side of collared greens and enjoyed them as well. For desert we ordered a peach cobbler(3.5÷5) and sweet potato pie(4⁄5). The cobbler was tasty and not too sweet. The only problem is that the peaches tasted as though they were canned and not fresh. The sweet potato pie tasted good and was not a disappointment. By the end of the evening we were all stuffed and had plenty to eat. The prices they charge are reasonable and the portion sizes are fitting. If you want a good restaurant with soul food, I highly recommend this place. It is probably one of the few soul food restaurants in the area. And probably the one that serves up the best dishes for a reasonable price. I look forward to going back in the near future and giving them another try for something different off of their menu.
