My family has been coming here since I was a child! Best food in the North Country. In peak tourist season, reservations are a must– however, there is a full service bar that does take walk-​ins. They never over fill the dining room, so if you do get a reservation, you’re guaranteed to have a quiet, intimate experience.
Highly recommend the lodge salad, the duck for an entrée, and the peanut butter pie for dessert!

Went two nights in a row because the food was that amazing. The service from Linda was awesome both of those nights. First night my boyfriend got the woodsman, he says it was the best steak he has ever had. I got the filet and crab. The filet was so tender and cooked just right. I hate crab cakes so I was and little hesitant when I realized that was sort of what the crab came as. Let me tell you, I was amazed! The second night I got the mill cove and my boyfriend got the strip steak. Amazing again! I can’t give this place enough credit. It’s worth the money

Best meal I’ve had here was in 2003. Since then we’ve visited it each trip to Pittsburg and I hate to say it but its disappointed each time. Food is a bit over priced and really nothing your local Red Lobster couldn’t produce. I still don’t understand wht the pub menu which limits entrée choices. I wish it wouldn’t disappoint but after 7 – 9 return visits we’ve given it its chance.

Incredible hidden gem in the backwoods of the North Country. Boston class dining right on Back Lake with great food and presentation/​service. This is like an oasis for the fly fishing community and they will be more Volvo’s then pick ups in the lot but its not snobby at all.
Décor is understated, elegant fishing/​sporting lodge like you’d see in Colorado or Idaho, views are beautiful.

Quality food. A bit pricey but very tasty. Nice steak varieties. Would go to again. Which I was hungrier!
