After moving into a new house, my wife and I purchased a washer and dryer. It seemed like a firstly straightforward affair. Once the delivery truck came, however, it was a completely different story.
Instead of setting up the laundry room with a 30-​amp circuit breaker and a three or four prong outlet, the previous owners set up the laundry room with a 50-​amp breaker and an outlet for a range cooktop. Short story: we couldn’t use the dryer. So we delayed delivery to find another solution.
After doing some research online, I found that the problem was fairly simple to fix, and could be done by most competent electricians. However, as a new homeowner, I wanted to find the best. After looking at Unilocal,Jim came highly reviewed, so I decided to give him a try.
After calling him late on a Saturday evening and expecting to get a voicemail, Jim actually picked up the phone. After explaining my issue, he said he could do the job for a $ 100 service call (plus the cost of parts). I was sold. He even came out to my home after work on the next Monday!
He did the job quickly, skillfully, and for the quoted price. He was friendly and personable, too.
I’d be happy to recommend Jim and Tarabini Mechanical to anybody who need a quality electrician at reasonable prices.

The days were turning hot here in the East Bay and I needed my a/​c to run. The condenser fan was not turning on my 1.5 year old unit. Please note, I foolishly purchased the AC unit from another company, who have been in the biz for over 30yrs in Oakley, and I have regretted that decision ever since. TARABINI MECHANICAL came to my rescue then (in July 2013, two days after installation of said unit by the other company, which shall be nameless. TARABINI MECHANICAL, returned again yesterday after said original Oakley company came to my home to check the non-​working condenser fan. That worker scared the you-​know-​what out of me and blamed the problem on electrical. After a call to TARABINI MECHANICAL, they came out same-​day and provided me with top-​notch expertise in both the electrical problem as well as informed me on the HVAC Workings on my AC unit to my complete satisfaction. These guys are professional, kind and patient. TARABINI MECHANICAL have a saved place in my phone as the «Go-​To» guys for all things ELECTRICAL and Heating and Air Conditioning related. Very reasonable prices are an additional bonus to this awesome company. In my humble opinion When it comes to things electrical in my home I want the BEST and SAFEST people doing the job. I called Jim when American Home Shield just wasn’t doing what I was paying them to do. Jim came out gave us an estimate, this man has been at my home since 10:00am this morning and still on the job with his head lamp it is now 7:32pm.
Jim ran into some major issues once he started pulling out the old breaker box and the guts, we are so lucky we didn’t have a major fire in our home from the shoddy work that was done prior to us buying this house.

I was pleasantly surprised to find someone who was willing to fix our A/​C unit instead of just quoting huge dollars to replace the whole system. Jim is a really honest guy who likes to repair equipment instead of simply replacing everything. He has been in business for over 30 years and really knows his stuff.
We were very happy to have our air conditioning back in such a short period of time and we will be using him again for our heating, air, and electrical. Five star review!

Tarabini did an outstanding job helping us with the HVAC on our new home addition and remodel. We had a couple choices and ended up with the Mr. Slim Mitsubishi. We were uncertain how the unit would look (and sound) in our new master bedroom and home gym. It’s awesome and SUPER QUIET! If you are thinking about installing one, don’t hesitate! I can’t believe I forgot to write a review on these wonderful people! I writing this now because I need some work done and they will always be my go-​to guys. Mr. Tarabini and his son came out to fix electrical issues in my house a few months ago. I appreciated greatly the time they took to explain things to me and make sure everything was working. They came the same day I called them and they even worked on things that we just discussed in casual conversation that I’d been having issues with and didn’t even charge me. When you have someone who is honest like this, you’ll pay anything. Especially after dealing with people that want to rip you off.
I’d recommend Tarabini Mechanical to anyone. I’d give them more stars if I could even if they are A’s fans ;)

I would give Jim Tarabini 10 stars if I could. The electricity in the laundry room of our rental property went out. I called two electricians and no one responded to my calls. Jim picked up my call during the first call and was able to fit us into his schedule at 6pm the same day. He figured out quickly that it was due to a blown fuse and replaced that quickly within the hour he was there. He made my tenant and I very happy as it was a very hot week in Antioch. I love this guy! He was super nice to deal with and certainly new what he was doing. I will definitely keep him on my list as the «go-​to electrician»! Thanks, Jim!

My dad just got his a/​c done by Tarabini and said they were the best deal in town (better than COSTCO, too) and they did a great job. Plus, they went under the house to check everything out and found an unrelated water leak that needed to be taken care of ASAP. They cleaned up after any dirt that got tracked in on their special suits to go in the crawl space. Very friendly, too. Super careful with my 4 year old around and very nice all-​around. They explained everything they did and talked to my dad about concerns regarding the water leak they found. They even stuck around and tried to help my dad figure out that issue, after the a/​c install was done and they’d already been paid. Great father/​son team. Very professional and did a great job. Everything works like a charm!
