I stopped in again yesterday for another gallery crawl, and this time, I really enjoyed the exhibit. It was a textile-based exhibit from a South African artist named Tina Williams Brewer called Fragments, Fractals: Write it, Print it, Sew it. I really enjoyed the materials and workmanship, as well as the way that the artist integrated poetry into the exhibit. This was my favorite exhibit at this gallery crawl, and I’d highly recommend it! The artist was there, and although I didn’t talk to her much, I did tell her that her exhibit was my favorite, and she was very flattered. Next door, there is an exhibit focusing on vinyl records. If you love vinyl, be sure to check this one out soon, since the entire collection will be auctioned off at the end of the exhibit! Random records from the collection are playing at the exhibit to add to the mood. Although I didn’t find this exhibit as meaningful as the one in its sister gallery, I found it fun and interesting, nevertheless. Looking forward to seeing what’s in store at the next gallery crawl!
