I stopped by tonight with a friend for some dinner, since I was having him over and didn’t feel like cooking. We ordered a half rack of ribs, some wing dings with BBQ sauce, some mac and cheese, and some fries, which cost about $ 20.(The wing dings and fries were a special, priced at $ 0.50/wing ding and $ 1/order, respectively.) The quality of these items ranged from good to mediocre. The ribs were solid in quality – they were pretty large and had a decent amount of meat on them. They come pre-sauced with a tomato-based sauce that isn’t overly sweet. The wing dings were also pretty good – they were clearly freshly fried, and come with your choice of sauce(we chose BBQ, and the sauce tasted sweeter than the sauce used on the ribs). The mac and cheese was okay – not the best I’ve had, but not bad, either. It tasted similar to the type I’ve had in cafeterias, so it’s quite possible that this is a pre-fab product. The fries were the weakest part of the meal – they were definitely not fresh cut and were kind of tasteless – but at the price of a buck, I can’t complain too much. Overall, this was an enjoyable take-out meal, and I’d return if I have a craving for ribs and my go-to BBQ place a couple of blocks away(Yinzburgh BBQ) isn’t open(they weren’t today, since it’s Mon.). My rating is more of a 3.5, which I usually award as a 3. However, since they’re a new-ish business I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and awarding 4 stars. If you live in the neighborhood, you enjoy this type of food, and you don’t feel like cooking, I’d recommend stopping in to pick up some ribs and wings.

This is a fairly new Take Out Only establishment in the Oakland area of the city. It is housed in the same space as Mitchell’s Bar on Centre Ave. The menu is made up of some simple foods that can be found at mainly joints nearby. Every day they have a $ 9.99 special that ranges from roast beef to chicken alfredo. The main draw here is ribs. A sign outside especially points this out(albeit a handmade sign on poster board). Their menu also sports $ 10 meals. Five specific combinations of already planned out food with every one of them having fries as a side. For myself I opted to go with a turkey burger, small side of potato salad and large side of fries. I say this with as much love as I can when I say that a majority of the food appears to be store bought and served here. The turkey burger tasted as if they got the pre-packaged Jenny-O turkey burgers and just heated them up. The lettuce was fresh and crispy and the tomato was juicy and thick cut, however the bun was store bought as well. The potato salad tasted as if they got one of those big tubs of grandma’s potato salad you can pick up in any grocery store. The fries also tasted store bought. The big potatoey kind. My friend got the ribs $ 10 meal and the items that came with the meal actually looked as if they were made on premise. Two ribs and two whole wings. If I ate these items, I am sure I would have enjoyed that meal. Overall, it does in a pinch, but not a ‘go-to’ place for me. *Cash only ** Take out only ***Opens at 3:30 Daily
