The barista was very friendly. Me and my cousin each had hot tea and the selection of teas is really stellar. We enjoyed that it was open later than most coffee shops in the area so we could stay and chat longer! Great place!

Unfriendly and disengaged associates. Asked what was in the black widow cake and no one could answer. I like that this is locally owned but won’t come back to this location. Not much more to say. Quality coffee drinks and snacks. Poor staff.

Terrible internet connection. I wasted an hour trying to connect to the Internet. The woman working just shrugged her shoulders and said, «Oh sometimes it doesn’t work when there’s a lot of people in here.» That seems like an unacceptable answer when you run a business that’s based off of wireless Internet connectivity. Completely frustrated, probably won’t go back. I should also mention that this isn’t the first time this has happened to me at Crazy Mocha at their other locations.

Wasn’t a fan. First time entering a crazy mocha and I felt rushed to decide. Stated that to the person taking my order(definitely not worthy to be called barista) and she made no effort to welcome me. Our party of two ordered iced drinks. Neither of us were impressed. Tasted like an overly, extremely, chocolate(y) yahoo with a splash of expresso. Prices for our small looking larges we ordered were pretty high. I’ll probably give them another try just to be fair. Will update rating based off future experience.

The ultimate dive coffee shop. The service is hit or miss and the clientele is weird, to say the least. But this place is open late and definitely has character. Also, nice cakes.

Hit or miss. Sometimes the service is friendly and my chai is made well. Sometimes the service is aloof and my chai cup is only half filled.

Exactly what I imagine a coffee shop to be, relaxing, not too loud, chitter chatter flowing throughout, and of course coffee!

Clean, warm, and not snotty. Barista succeeded at not making a discernible frown when I ordered decaf. Review deserves an extra half star just on that point.

A very cool coffee shop with great biscotti and awesome desserts! I got a white chocolate mocha and it wasn’t anything spectacular in my opinion. However, the ambiance, décor, and service definitely contributed to my experience. I desperately wish I would’ve tried the biscotti or any dessert! Be sure to try some!

Cute location with all of the typical coffee shop fare. It was nice to see yogurt and oats in addition to all of the sugary carbs. The coffee was quite good. My favorite drink isn’t on the menu, but the barista knew what it was and successfully made it. Great service | Good coffee | Good atmosphere

Composite. A nice place for coffee drinks. Easy access from road; parking can be challenging however during a busy day. Best to use a side street and walk around the corner. Many like a variety of coffee flavorings and enhancements — I tend to stick to espresso’s, dark roasts, and heavier blends. Service is fast; courteous. Always more interesting that the big Green competitor’s cookier cutter approach. f8 and be there.

Why are the reviews for this place so bad? I love it! This may be my favorite Crazy Mocha location. It’s small and intimate, and on a corner right off of Liberty. This is maybe 5 blocks away from my house, and I walk over at least a couple times a week for a coffee, maybe one of the huge AMAZING cookies, and to sit down and do some work. The people who frequent here are cool, and the baristas are always laid back and helpful(the service isn’t bad!). I do most of my work out of coffee shops, and I think I’ve visited almost every single shop on the East End– and I think that this is one of the best establishments around. I will continue to hang out there to escape to freezing temps in my house!

They’re a little expensive for what it is, but I liked my Chai Latte and a piece of the Black Widow cake. The ambience is really laid back, and the patrons are friendly and erudite I’d say. Cool place to chill that isn’t a bar. You can even rent DVD’s here.

It’s crazy how omnipresent Crazy Mocha has become in Pittsburgh, but hell, I’d rather it be them than ‘Buck Wild if you catch my anti-corporate drift, knowhatimean, Verne? Kay and I only came here because of their desserts, something this non-coffee drinker had become well-acquainted with at their Lawrenceville and Downtown locations. After all, Bloomfield Bridge Tavern doesn’t do sweets. Instead of a behemoth of a brownie or a colossus of a chocolate chip cookie to satisfy sweet cravings, I treated myself to a wedge of their Black Widow cake. Embellished with a gorgeously appointed and decadent, caffeine-laced, chocolate chip-bejewled buttercream icing, the canary-yellow batter was as moist as a wet sponge. One could detect the salt, which augmented the inherent sweetness of this stunner of a confection. Put 40 candles on this beaut in February, and it’ll be a very happy birthday indeed. The Pittsburgh Hot Chocolate was sort of an iced coffee without the coffee, if you follow me. Capped with a turret of whipped cream, the beverage was refreshing and tasty enough even as it lost its chocolatey oomph towards the watery end. I think I’d have rather had a hot chocolate to wash down my super-rich cake, but they didn’t appear to offer it. Drinks and desserts cost me a total of $ 18! Gasp! The service was adequate. I encountered no haughtiness whatsoever. I can also see why so many erudite folks loaf about the place; it’s as cozy and stylish as a sugar mama’s parlor. In terms of clientele, I felt my intelligence levels boost as we overheard conversations about history and art. Hey, it beats sitting on a bar stool listening to guys talk about how drunk they get or how bad-ass they supposedly are. I’m thankful for Crazy Mocha and her many sisters for countering the Buckstars(to this day I’ve yet to go into one) of the world.

Making a shot of espresso is not hard. But none of the baristas here know how to do it or they are too lazy. To make a proper shot, the coffee grounds must be firmly compressed. This requires the barista to fill, then tap, then fill again, and tap again. If this is not done, the espresso gets burnt. If you are drinking a sugary coffee drink, this may not bother you. As a whole, the drip coffee is usually just ok. But lately it has started to tasted really burnt. Might I suggest cleaning with vinegar. The service is hit or miss.

Very cool set up for this Crazy Mocha. It’s attached to the Dreaming Ant, which is a DVD rental shop What a cool concept to come, grab a drink and pick out a movie, you’re entertained for hours! The store itself is pretty cool with unique artwork on the walls and almost 3-D like mural of Pittsburgh in a loft area in the front. Why the low stars? Not surprising… but it’s not friendly service. Not surprising because it seems that every Crazy Mocha I visit has unhappy employees. You know what, I get it. I worked as a Barista for almost 5 years. But the thing is, when people are nice to you, the right thing to do is be nice back. Not here. You get short and sometimes even questioning attitude back. It’s really unfortunate considering a coffee shop’s whole idea is for you to grab a brew and relax. My hope is for someone to step and crap some whips, make people perk up a bit… maybe have some coffee and chill?

Makes a mean Caramel Latte! On most weekdays I have to stop somewhere to get my morning jolt and since this is not too far from me, I am here at least 1−2x a week. Quick friendly service… I am in and out. Parking can be a little bad but usually you can get lucky on the little side street. This rates #2 on my fave coffee joints… very consistent lattes unlike a lot of other chains too!

I really dislike this location solely based on staff alone. The two girls that work at this location are unfriendly and as unapproachable as can be. I’ve never dealt with people who felt like you’re bothering THEM by asking them to do their jobs. Do your job with a smile on your face. Not to mention stale cake is an absolute fail. Completely over this location.

I want to be clear, this review is only for the Bloomfield Crazy Mocha. The coffee is not great, which is why I’m only reviewing this crazy mocha. This crazy mocha has something more than the bad coffee the other crazy mochas have. This crazy mocha has attitude. Great local art, filled with nice people, and partially inhabited by a great dvd rental store. The dvd rental store, which i don’t use because of netfilx, has an amazing selection of independent, vintage, foreign, and exploitation films. Go here if you’re bored on the east end or out on the bloomfield strip with minutes to spare.
