Another reason why I love being a Unilocaler!
I had been wanting to try the Crested Duck for years, but never made it there until this event.
I loved the tour, especially the meat locker. The highlight of the event was the meat and cheese plate and the duck comfit wrap cooking demonstration. Both amazing! Kevin, Adam and John did a great job of making us all feel at home. It is great to see a unique small Pittsburgh start up make it.
My wife and daughter loved the salami and bacon that I brought home and have shunned all others. Thank God I live on the other side of town! I would be fat and broke!

Great event. It was interesting to see some of the behind-​the-​scenes part of the restauarnt business and learn about the Crested Duck. I’d very very interested to meet other local restaurant business owners to hear about how they run their businesses.
I thought the cooking demonstration was great too. If there is an opportunity for the Unilocal community to do a hands-​on cooking class at some point, I would definitely be interested.

I’ve always loved Crested Duck, and I learned so much from this event! Not only do I know how to make duck confit, but my clothes smelled like roasted duck for the rest of the evening (yum!). I will definitely be going back. Another topnotch Unilocal event!

Thank you! By far my favorite event!
Not only did I get to see a great side of a business I LOVE but never get to see, but I got to meet some great people and learn the story of how they came to be.
Crested Duck is, and continues to be, my favorite spot for lunch based simply on their down to earth, out of this world approach to creating simple yet powerfully explosive flavorful meats (that was a mouth full).

I loved this event. It was great way to learn about the Crested Duck and everything that they do. The duck confit demonstration, being able to tour most of the restaurant and also sampling the charcuterie was great. It was also nice to be able to talk to the owner and see his passion about what his does. Overall it was a great event and I now plan on going back in the future!

This was one of my favorite Unilocal events! I felt being involved and learning the business actually helped me take away something that I would not have had I just sampled food and left. Also, Kevin and the crew are quite impressive and I see amazing things happening for the Crested Duck. I’m just thankful I live so close to them!

This was a great event. Kevin, Adam and John really did a great job presenting their business and product to the Unilocal community and I was really honored to be invited to attend. We had a great lunch today with goodies purchased from their case and will definitely return for more. It’s a great sign that artisan food is coming slowly to Pittsburgh and I wish them all the luck in the world with their USDA approval.

The «meet the business owner» series appear to be a more intimate and personal encounter with local owners. I personally loved it. Great idea and the crepes were really really good!

This was a wonderful event, maybe my favorite so far. Perhaps it’s the food lover in me, or my many years of restaurant experience, but I just love it when people who enjoy their work share it with others. The owner and people involved with this business are obviously passionate about what they do, and they’re also really having fun. I especially enjoyed John’s duck confit presentation, and the delicious crêpe that followed. Everyone was helpful and informative. John showed us what to do with fresh herbs, Kevin gave us a detailed tour, and Adam was patient and knowledgable in his assistance with the meat and cheese case. I’ll be back to try their sammies, soups and salads.
