Adorable shop, EXTREMELY friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for specialized yarns. Not great for many skeins of one type of yarn. Not a selection of mass produced brands of yarn; a store like Joann would be better suited for that. But a very unique selection of fibers. A small and cozy place to shop. Prices are reasonable and I could def see myself stopping in if I had any knitting questions/problems.

I was shocked to find some place anywhere(let alone a short drive from my home) that could help me out with my mission to learn how to crochet. Dyed In the Wool was that place! The woman I spoke with and who ultimately showed me a few things was so kind and helpful! I was even welcome to bring my infant along. They also offer knitting lessons and while she was helping me out there was a group of women just hanging out and knitting. It was so nice to get out of the house for an afternoon and meet new friendly faces. It’s a great little place and has a lot of different yarns. I definitely plan on returning. The lessons(knitting or crochet) are $ 10 plus any supplies you may purchase.

Dyed in the Wool is tucked away a short distance from the main drag of the Ross Township /McKnight Road commercial district, but is well worth the detour. The selection of yarns is quite good for the small space that they occupy, and the owner has made sure to include some locally produced yarns as well. Prices are competitive, and the organization of the store makes it easy to find exactly what you’re searching for. Fiber for spinning(hand-dyed Targhee top from Mountain Colors) is also available. There is a cozy corner for knitting or spindling, and the shopkeeper is one of the friendliest I’ve ever spoken with. I will definitely be stopping by Dyed In The Wool again in the future for more yarn and fiber.
