Essig Michael J MD

Ever since I got a full time job and insurance to go with it, I have been going to see Dr. Essig as my PCP. The office is easy to find on Smithfield street, extremely convenient for those who work/​live downtown, and the facilities while not super modern they indeed are clean and in good condition.
The staff is friendly, although a little «young» as far as the assistants so sometimes it feels they’re less thoughtful and mindful than what you’d expect for a medical office. Granted it is neat to see the trainees learning on the job since these will be the medical providers who’ll be taking care of us down the road.
Dr. Essig is a quirky gentleman. He’s succinct and to the point but at the same time he takes his time to analyze all you have to say or point out. A lot of times with DR’s I have felt they just rush through the appointment … so far Dr. Essig has been good about how long he takes to do an appointment. Sometimes they are shorter than I thought they’d be and sometimes he really took his time … in hindsight he’s been spot on.
Good location. Good staff. And good experiences so far make it so that I’ll definitely be returning in the future if I need to see a PCP.
