Had to go to K Mart today and pick up a few plants. This location is great as they alway have everything I’m looking for in stock. The down side of this store is, it’s always hot as if the AC is broken and they only have one cashier. Come early to avoid standing in line.

Let’s start this review with the maniacal laughter of a woman scorned, because it really sets the tone. I needed bras! It happens. Kmart happens to have my slightly-unusual size readily available, and this Kmart was on the way. I pass it every day, and had been in once or twice for hair dye or stocking stuffers. WELL. I found the bras! They were great. Perfect. I picked up a few other items and my husband and I made our way to the register. A younger girl was our cashier. She rang it up– about $ 50. I paid by debit. Put in my pin. It said approved and BOOM. Screen went out before I got my receipt. Now, that was fine with me. I didn’t need a reciept. I’d waited in line for a fair amount of time already, and just wanted to go. They informed me that it cancelled the transaction, which seemed strange, as the computer shut down *after* payment was approved, so I checked my bank to be sure, and the charge was already there. They made me pay a second time to even leave and assured me that the first charge would disappear in 24 hours(which I knew was bullshit that moment, but I just wanted to get out of there). The cashier who initially rang me up was giving me a dirty look, because I had asked for her manager and told them both that I did not think this was how it worked, that I had already paid, my bank already reflected the charge, I shouldn’t have to pay again. But I still walked out of that KMart having paid $ 100 for $ 50 worth of goods. 24 hours later, surprise. I have two separate charges and have absolutely indisputably paid $ 100 for $ 50 worth of stuff. I call and argue with a manager who never once apologizes for their employee’s fuckup and insists that she was simply mistaken– it’s 7 full days before the original charge will disappear. At this point, I asked them if they would refund my initial charge if both charges are still showing up a week from that day. They refused to give me a straight answer. Why not just say yes? OBVIOUSLY the answer should be yes there, right? Fuck’s sake. 7 days later, wouldn’t you know it, still. fucking. there. So I call and by some act of God I get a different manager. He *actually* said sorry for the bullshit I had just been through. He had a refund of the extra charge waiting for me a few hours later when I arrived at the store, a simple signature and it was over. So that guy, he was a star. The real MVP. The only one who gave a shit. Long story short, this location is the absolute worst KMart I’ve ever been in, and this experience was the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Never again.
