Dr. McDonough is a really great guy — and I am usually not a fan of dentists. You can tell he really enjoys doing what he does because he always goes above and beyond the call of duty. I first met Dr. McDonough when I had severe tooth pain a day or two before I drove back up to school. It was a Thursday after office hours that it got bad, so we hunted a 20 mile radius for someone who would see me to help me out. Dr. McDonough was the only person who showed even a bit of interest, and not only that — but he came in to work early the next day so he could fit me into his busy schedule. He gave me some medicine which helped a little but then caused a lot of swelling — I called him on his emergency line and he was super friendly and called the nearest pharmacy and put in a new prescription for me. The next time I saw Dr. McDonough was to get my temporary root canal switched to the stronger bonding — a procedure that I should have done about 6 months prior. Dr. McDonough didn’t give me a verbal lashing or talk down to me about my dental habits, he just did it painlessly. Speaking of which, he CONSTANTLY asks how you’re feeling, making sure that everything he does is comfortable and painless. All in all, Dr. McDonough is a find — it isn’t easy to find a dentist I’d be willing to visit on a regular basis, but I have no problems going back to see him.
