The CLO is a wonderful place to bring your children to fall in love with the performing arts. All of the instructors have worked professionally, or are currently working professionally! I have seen so many talented students come up through the Academy and go on to lead incredibly successful lives in the performing arts field… Which isn’t easy! The CLO Academy is a warm, welcoming environment filled with caring souls who will stop at nothing to help you and your child enjoy their experience. If you’re looking for the best place in Pittsburgh to bring your child for musical theatre… Congratulations, you’ve found it!

I attended CLO while I was in high school, it was a very fun experience! I took a voice lesson class and a acting class. Both of my teachers were great and I enjoyed taking their classes. I can not think of my voice instructor but I do remember my acting instructor and her name is Nancy Mimless. She was such a good teacher, she was very nice, and fun and really helped me to feel comfortable in front of the class when doing activities such as a monologue. I would definitely recommend CLO Academy to anyone interested in performing arts as a career in the future or really just for fun and to showcase your talent. It is a pretty expensive, but there is financial aid and can is doable.

So I went to one of the CLO’s Summer Camps. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! The teachers/directors were nice, but cannot teach! It does not need to take 1 day to block a scene!!! The only good part about it is that there are a lot of opportunities to make friends! If you are not in a scene, they make you sit there. You cannot talk quietly, you cannot text, you cannot listen to music. If your kid enjoys musical theater, you would be much better off paying more money and sending them to Gemini Children’s Theater in Point Breeze. The CLO Academy wasted my $ 450. All it’s worth is a piece of dog crap.
