SamSon Heating & Cooling

Should have written this review a long time ago. The work was done in good quality, however, the cost was very high (based on my insurance agent). And the schedule was horrible, after the first replacement, we waited for near a week to get the next piece repaired, in this cold weather without heat. And it is not because of any missing parts, just scheduling. Make sure you got all your works scheduled and get second quote.

Honest, trustworthy, reliable and knowledgeable. Exactly what you’d want, without the huge corporation bloat and unreasonable pricing. Fixed our heater and will do our A/​C, did our neighbors house too, same stellar feedback. Choose them as an alternative over the big, expensive faceless companies and support a smaller honest local operation with service and quality that exceeds the competition.

This is not firsthand, but a SamSon owner was driving a SamSon panel van and, while talking on the phone, drove dangerously close to a cyclist, nearly hitting him, and violating Pennsylvania’s four foot law. After the cyclist justifiably yelled and slapped the mirror of the van, this SamSon driver & owner threatened the cyclist with a wrench!
If SamSon’s owners can’t be decent citizens, I recommend avoiding business with SamSon.

We needed a full replacement of our museum-​quality ancient HVAC system that had grown into a poorly performing and inefficient mess. For this we obtained several quotes. After some negotiations on price, scope (we didn’t need two separate furnaces but just one), and choice of systems we ended up with a very reasonable proposal for a full replacement. In the end we picked Sam and his son (also Sam, hence SamSon) based on a friend’s recommendation.
They were very very meticulous, punctual, considerate, and performed the gutting and replacement with minimal disturbance despite the fact that it was already November and therefore heating season. The new installation is clean, tidily installed (no loose or poorly installed parts). Probably the best analogy is that it looks like an Apple computer from the inside, i.e. very very orderly, tidy and easy to understand what the various bits and pieces do.
The system works amazingly well, the kids cough less, and (as we’ll likely find out next month) it probably also uses a lot less energy. I can only wholeheartedly recommend him for all your HVAC needs. As good as it gets!
