When it came time to look for invitations for our wedding, I was having a difficult time finding anything online that matched the tone of our occasion. Then, a friend recommended that I make an appointment at Scribe. I’m so glad I did; not only do they have a wide selection of wedding invitation suites(that you can see and touch in store), but I was able to find the perfect invitation to match our day. I ordered my wedding invitations, reception cards, information cards, RSVP cards, table numbers, table cards, and menus from Scribe. In addition, I hired a calligrapher to write out our table numbers and table cards through Scribe. Everything turned out beautifully, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I received many compliments on our invitations, and was pleased with how everything matched so well. Throughout the entire process, I was able to communicate with the shop owner, Sara, via e-mail. She was prompt with her replies, and sent proofs and receipts via e-mail so that I was able to keep this information all in one place electronically. The only kink is that Scribe relies on other vendors for certain jobs(in my experience, printing and calligraphy). We had an issue with one of the printers not being prompt with my invitation envelopes. However, my invitations still went out on time. Overall, I would recommend Scribe to future brides due to the quality product that this store delivers.

I recently ordered our«Save the Dates» from Scribe and they are the most gorgeous cards I have ever seen. Sara — the stationer at the store was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. She showed me every single option from many different designers and walked me though all of the information I would need to order the letterpress cards of my dreams. I plan on going back to her for ordering our wedding invitations and have also ordered business cards and stationary for my partner from her. He loves the cards we received. The quality of the stationary she carries is very high, and she has great relationships with letterpress studios that produce exquisite work. Sara is the person to go to if you want the very best. The culture of the store is all about the beautiful tradition of stationary and printing. It can be intimidating to many people, but if you know what you are looking for and have an eye for great quality Scribe is the place for you.

Went in looking for wedding invitations for my niece. The world’s most pretentious woman was behind the counter. We left laughing by how such a horrendous woman can keep a paper store in business. My guess: she has friends and family who feel obligated to spend their money there despite the limited selection, high prices, and hilariously terrible owner.

I pop by this shop whenever I’m strolling along Walnut Street in Shadyside. They have a beautiful and unique selection of cards and stationary. On my last visit, I purchased a Rifle Paper Co. recipe box as wedding shower gift that the bride to be absolutely loved! Customer service is on point, staff is always friendly and helpful. If you have the opportunity I would highly recommend visiting!

I’ve been into Scribe a few times when I’ve been up north visiting family and it’s perhaps one of the most beautiful stores I’ve been in … like … ever. There’s a huge amount of product, but it’s not overwhelming. The products are also well-curated by the owner with national lines like Rifle Paper Company and Bernard Maisner, but also local items from Klorebel and the like. Stop in if you’re in Shadyside or make an appointment. It’d be my dream to have them do custom work for me as it’s all beautiful!

It seems that to be really welcome in this shop by the owner you have to fit in a certain standard: look rich and snob. I have been kicked out really fast because i only wanted envelops because well I am sorry but I made myself the invitations for my wedding. This person was simply rude to me.
