Signed up for 13 week boot camp and having a blast!
You’ll never find a more knowledgeable and enthusiastic crew. Very well organized workouts, suspension, real rider spinning and boxing, plus DODGEBALL from time to time. I mean DODGEBALL !!!
This isn’t the gym where you show up and just lazily toss some weights around and go a few rounds in the elliptical. You come to get trained! And by that the crew is working right with you, inspiring instructing and motivating, not just standing by.
All you need to bring is your commitment and you will exceed your goal.

I started working out with Sarah at Shape Training in November — about a month after they opened their doors. Full disclosure — I’m not someone who loves to work out and I despise big box gyms (I belonged to one for a year, 1 block from my house, and never actually stepped foot in it aside from signing up). In the last few years, I’d found a few specialized classes in studio’s that I liked but I knew I needed to do more. At the recommendation of a friend, I took a suspension class at Shape and really enjoyed the environment — all 3 classes (boxing, spin, suspension) going on at the same time — and the trainers were so energetic and really knew what they were doing. I scheduled an assessment for the next week and did exactly what I said I wasn’t going to do… I committed to 6 months of personal training. Sarah and Shape have been fantastic and exactly what I needed — truth be told — I need someone telling me what to do during a work out but I also don’t need a drill sergeant and this has been the perfect balance. She encourages me to do more than I ever thought I could (or ever really wanted to) and pushes me every single work out. I’ve learned so much about stretching and weights and nutrition. I finished my 6 months and signed up for another 12 months and I’ve also been doing the group classes as well. I just can’t seem to get enough! All of the trainers are wonderful — super knowledgeable, friendly, funny, motivating. They really are on the cutting edge — there is nothing else like this around here or any of the other cities in which I’ve lived. Check them out! You won’t regret it.

I joined over 6 weeks ago and have been thrilled with the level of knowledge and dedication the Shape team has. I was tired of generic, over priced gyms and found a gem with this team.
I personally train with Sarah and have really enjoyed working out with her. She knows how to keep the work outs fresh, and motivating– we rarely repeat exercises! The team at shape also works with you on nutrition and diet so you stay on track even when you aren’t with them.
I’ve also done the group classes there and have gotten a lot out of them. The suspension class is challenging, but you leave feeling accomplished!

If you’re looking for a place to come in and hop on a treadmill for 30 minutes, then this isn’t the place for you. This gym is designed for people who want a change from their regular routines or otherwise boring rut that they have been stuck in (whether physically or mentally).
Not only do they offer boxing, suspension, and cycling classes… they happen all at the same time! It’s like one giant fitness party.
Or if you’re looking for something a little more catered to meet your needs or just don’t enjoy working out in a big group, they offer personal training sessions, too. There isn’t a single trainer at this gym I wouldn’t trust to help me achieve my fitness goals.

I cannot say enough about how good Shape Training is. The Trainers are all friendly and know their stuff. I have been going twice a week since October 2014. No workout is ever the same, and time just seems to fly when I’m working out. Working out on the turf feels great on the knees. I finally tried boxing and fell in love. I can’t say enough good things whether it’s one on one training or classes. I’ll just keep going.

Hands down, one of the best gyms in Pittsburgh. Not your typical «meat head» gym. Trainers are approachable and highly knowledgeable with 30+ years of experience in professional sports.
They offer a wide menu of unique and challenging activities (e.g. boxing, TRX, binding, PT) that are available to individuals of ALL fitness levels.
But, what really sets this gym apart are the trainers. Without fail, I always leave happier then I came in and more sore.
