Not a good experience. I went just for a blowout and the girl that did my hair seemed super I experienced with washing as well as drying. It took a lot longer than it should have and she put way too much product in my hair. The girl also kept trying to get me to come to her for color and other services. It was kind of annoying.

I showed up at 2pm on a Sunday to buy a gift certificate. The clerk wouldn’t get off her phone. When she finally acknowledged me, she said I needed to come back in an hour, and when I said I couldn’t, she said sorry but they couldn’t help me. I asked if she could call someone, she said no, and when I pressed her on it, she walked to the back. On principle, I’ll never go back. What a miserable person and awful company.

This place was awful. I went here to get my hair done for a wedding and the stylist did not look at the pictures I brought at all. The first sign of trouble was the seats were not cleaned off from the person before so I sat in someone else’s hair. I’m just peeved that she didn’t look at the pictures I had before starting styling. My hair looked nothing like what I wanted. Beware!

I didn’t have a good experience here. My hair doesn’t hold curl well, but I let my stylist know this before she did my hair. I’ve gone to drybar and the stylist miraculously was able to get my hair to hold curl! Unfortunately I didn’t have a similar experience at style out. The curls fell within an hour and she loaded on the hairspray. I was very disappointed since I got my hair done for a friend’s wedding. My hair would have looked better if I had curled it myself.

I called the main location to see if they’d be willing to open early for my friends and I on a Saturday, since we had a wedding. They put me in touch with the Pittsburgh manager and she let me know she would be happy to open early for us, and we confirmed on the phone for my appointments. The day before, I decided to call the salon and confirm since it was getting late in the day and I hadn’t gotten a confirmation yet. I called and spoke to a woman on the phone who said she had no record of our appointments, and she sounded surprised someone would even make an appointment at 9AM. I asked her for the manager’s number, so I called her and asked if she recalled speaking to me and she said yes, but she sounded like she forgot all about it. She mentioned something about someone no longer working there, but then she said she’d call the salon back to see what she could do and that she’d call me back. I didn’t hear back for an hour, and it was already past 5, so I made 3 last minute appointments at another salon. Thankfully they were able to take us, because the manager never called back. I sent an email detailing my experience to the main Styleout email account, followed up after a week, and still never heard back. I find it extremely unprofessional that 1) They didn’t honor our appointments 2) Didn’t try to help or accommodate us and 3) NEVER called or emailed me back or apologized. This is a brand new salon to the Pittsburgh area, so they should be trying to gain new business and forming relationships with customers. That did not happen last week and I’m very disappointed and will not be visiting this salon now.

After living in LA and having DryBar easily at my disposal right down the street, I got very spoiled having a place to go to get a blowout before events/big nights out. After moving back to Pittsburgh, I was looking for something similar before a big hospital formal event, but to my dismay, there wasn’t anything besides normal hair salons. :(I was so excited to hear that Styleout was coming to Pittsburgh and couldn’t wait to try it! I purchased the LivingSocial deal, which was a great way to try it out! I had a great experience! The salon is small, but it was easy to park and get in and out. The staff was also really friendly and I liked the way my hair turned out! It’s no DryBar, but I had a great experience and I’m glad we have this in Pittsburgh! My only request is that they put one in the city or in the South Hills! I definitely recommend trying it out!
