great bakery but the secret here is the café down the alley to the left. Great soups, pizzas, pastas, espresso, etc. Little taste of Rome in Pittsburgh.

Had lunch here yesterday on Saturday. It’s a very cozy place, small and warm. They were full so my family and I waited a bit. While we waited we ordered a bottle of Chianti and the owner himself made us a pizza while we waited, on the house, to make the wait easier. A wait that was very worth it. The food is delicious– amazing salads and pizza and pasta(al dente). Delicious bread. It was my mom’s birthday and they treated her so nicely by giving her a few desserts on the house. She lived in Tuscany for 9 years as did I and we all agreed the food and ambiance are legitimate. The owner is very friendly. Overall a 5 star experience!!! Can’t say enough good things about it.

Breakfast today at Enrico’s Café left me unimpressed. If only the food matched the funky, cozy atmosphere they would have a winner. I ordered the french toast and coffee and the coffee was good. The french toast… well, let’s say it was like no other french toast I have ever had. Two very small thin slices of old bread served with two very limp pieces of bacon does not a $ 10.00 breakfast make-very over-priced and poor quality. There were no redeeming qualities to that breakfast other than the very pleasant server.

So… it was our last day in Pittsburgh, so we decide to head to The Strip for breakfast. The place we were going to had a line out the door, but we saw a sign for breakfast across the street. We’d had Enrico’s biscotti before, so we figured what the heck. When we asked what’s for breakfast, the hostess/server handed us a hand-written menu on the back of a lunch paper bag. We asked Enrico if he makes whatever he feels like for breakfast? He answered with a smile, «My house, I can do what I want.» Hubby had French toast and I had the breakfast carbonara, which is pasta loaded with bacon, egg, and cheese. Another customer asked the server how many slices of French toast, and Enrico answered, «How many you want? How’s that for an answer?» The homestyle, tasty food and down-home feel will definitely bring us back.

I love this place. Owner always greets with warm welcome. Outstanding service. Delicious food. Fantastic servers. My favorite Pittsburgh restaurant and experience in the Strip District.

This is my favorite spot for sandwiches, soups or salad. The beans and greens are amazing, as are the salads and breads. The ambiance is relaxed and casual, and the food is always excellent. Enrico’s is great for conversation or for resting your feet while shopping at the Strip. They have a First Friday Dinner which is BYOB with no corkage fee. On Saturday’s you can buy a bottle of Carlo’s Garage Winery, they make the wine downstairs.

How long has the cute little café in the back been here? I noticed a sign with an arrow that read«hey, look over there» or something along those lines, simple, caught my eye and attention so my friend and I strolled back to check it out. We had already eaten but decided to stay for a cup of coffee and cheesecake, which was delicious. It was also packed so we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. Busy as it was, the one lady who was working was so friendly and very efficient. I cant wait to go back and eat there.

They have A LOT of different types of biscotti. They even have ones for your dog. I tried the cranberry pistachio, which was good. But the only thing is — it gets stale really quickly. I tried a bite right after a bought it and it was baked perfectly — crunchy, but not hard to eat. When I went to finish the rest of it a couple of hours later, it was already kind of stale, which meant buying some to bring home was not an option. So if you do go to Enrico’s, my advice would be to enjoy the biscotti immediately!

Excellent biscotti, lots of favors. Shop is tiny, but has an alleyway café next door as well. $ 9.00 for a half dozen, but they are large. Lots of great flavors. Parking can be difficult — street and pay meter.

I was finally able to try Enrico’s out for lunch. It was a warm summer day and it was pretty hot and humid inside, but what can you expect with a hot pizza oven inside the restaurant. They serve wine! I ordered the sweet wine, which wasn’t very sweet and was served warm. The pizza I chose to get was quattro formaggio. The dough was chewy and not crispy, which was fine. I think the cheese weighed down the crust because there was a lot of grease on that pizza. The gorgonzola used on the pizza was a bit on the sweeter side and was delicious. I think next time I will try the pasta. Oh and make sure to stop inside and get dessert. So many delicious flavors of biscotti and other sweet treats.

Holy cannoli! Was on the way to gauchos for lunch and my friend insisted we had to get a cannoli before they sold out. Not harboring much of a sweet tooth and the the thought of having dessert before lunch was soooooo unorthodox but soooooo glad we did because we snagged the last 3! It was only 1pm on a Tuesday and they were out and I totally get why… so divine they blew my mind. It was the perfect size and texture. The shell was just hard to bite into but soft enough the ricotta filled goodness didn’t seep out everywhere. I really liked how it wasn’t overstuffed but not understuffed– it was literally the perfect trifecta of filling, sweetness, and crust– the holy cannoli. Got to try the biscotti next time but until then, will plan another trip to the strip to satisfy my once dormant sweet tooth! p. s. Will also have to try to make it to the bakers class one day early morning!

I’m severely allergic to baked goods… My ass has this horrible reaction where it swells up and my pants don’t fit…;( It’s a hard crunchy sweet slice of biscuit-like thing you dip in coffee… They usually have ‘em at bakery or coffee shops… They keep at least a week at room temperature if well wrapped up… and they freeze beautifully for at least a couple of months… Mmm…i’m not a big fan of biscotti. but these tends to A OK… compared to the store brought ones i usually get… theirs over thirty flavors when it comes to biscotti… pretty impressive for a small mom and pop shop…

This place is one of those hidden gems. It’s off the beaten path and through an alley. The only thing you see is a sign for brick oven pizza. You get greeted immediately. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday and the place was packed! Luckily we got a table. The brought out our drinks and then went over the specials. They had eggplant which immediately won me over. The gf ordered the white pizza. Both came out very quickly. Mine was cooked over some home made pasta and ripe Italian plum tomatoes. The eggplant was crunchy and delicious. They staff also brought out some free wine tastings and some free bread and olive oil and Parmesan cheese. Would highly recommend. Great place to grab a quick bite while you walk around and enjoy the ambiance.

Pizza is 4 star.smoky.hearty toppings but disappointed with the rest-lasagna was below average. Brought the table next to ours breadsticks but not to us??? not sure was not on the menu so it was definitely not ordered. Drop by for a pizza if u like but otherwise nothing special. honestly there are much better options downtown which is 5 mins drive from here.

The Enrico Biscotti Company’s café is by far my favorite place for weekend lunch in Pittsburgh. It’s not open in the evenings, otherwise it would be my favorite dinner place too! I’ve come here with friends and a bottle of wine for a long, relaxing lunch and with my mother for a takeout lunch before running errands. Whatever the situation, this lovely establishment never disappoints. The people who work here are friendly, and the space is small but not cramped. They have the sweetest little patio for the warmer months too. Enrico’s keeps their menu pared down, and that’s a huge part of their success. Having traveled in Italy, I often crave the delicious simplicity of Italian cuisine. The food at Enrico’s always satisfies me in this regard. They offer a few small pizzas, some sandwiches, a salad, and beans and greens. The latter two dishes can be ordered topped with roast chicken or a fried egg. Everything is absolutely wonderful. The salad(with chicken) would have to be my favorite however. As my friends would tell you, I’m never the first one at the table to order a salad… I prefer heartier foods as a general rule. Enrico’s salad is too delicious and filling to pass up though, so I keep coming back for it. It’s got a good mix of dark leafy greens(no iceberg in sight!) and the chicken compliments it so well. I order mine sans cheese, but it typically comes topped with that also. Whatever you order has a piece of Enrico’s heavenly bread on the side… they even teach classes so you can replicate the deliciousness and take fresh bread home with you. Sign me up!

The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because of the café. Let me begin by saying I am a garbage disposal. I will eat anything at anytime but found myself not wanting to finish the Margarita pizza or pesto chicken sandwich. I tasted more textures than flavors but then again I have a haitian girlfriend so I am used to her food being flavor explosions in my mouth. We left more than half our food on the table. The ladies next to us got the fig pizza and said it was delicious and it’s all they ever get. I will have to give that a try if I ever return for the café because it did look delicious. On the other hand, the biscottis are to die for! The gentleman helping with the biscottis was beyond generous and helpful. If you go for the sweets be sure to get the chocolate dipped coconut macaroon it is out of this world!

This looks like an awesome place, with friendly staff and lots of great looking biscottis and other baked goods. The only problem? There’s nothing vegan here at all, and that’s the premise of my reviews. It really doesn’t deserve a three star review, so if they add a single item that’s vegan, I’ll gladly adjust the review. Check out the café in back though — that looks awesome.

The biscotti is as amazing as ever. In my countless visits here, I just realized that there is a connecting café that serves up Italian fare. We were a tad too early for lunch so I’ll definitely give it a go around the next time around. Another cool thing is that the biscotti can now be purchased prepackaged by flavor and Larry assured me that they ship the goods!

After an exhausting rowing practice, I invited a friend to join me for lunch at the café at The Enrico Biscotti Company in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. I should note that I’ve have been here a handful of times, always enjoying each each experience. I consider myself adventurous when it comes to trying different things, but similar to when I dine at Olive or Twist, I always order the same thing when at Enricos — the beans and greens. I love this dish, especially since I make it at home and I enjoy their variation(made with kale) just as much as I enjoy my own(generally with escarole). Priced at $ 9, you receive a healthy portion of greens and beans in a delicious broth. As an accompaniment, they serve a small portion of bread to sop up all the broth as you make your way through the meal. For an additional $ 1, you can order a fried egg to be placed on top. For $ 2, they’ll serve a moderately sized piece of chicken breast. I ordered both! Not served with, but something you can ask for are red pepper flakes to top the dish. On this particular occasion, I did ask for them, but unfortunately the waitress never returned. I was too hungry to wait and had to get to a hair appointment, so I chowed down. After realizing that she forgot to bring the flakes over to the table, the waitress apologized and noted that she’d take the meal off the menu. I really didn’t think that was necessary, but it was a really kind offer and I didn’t refuse her gesture. If you haven’t been here, keep in mind that there are only 2 and 4 top tables. The location is tiny and I do not recommend dining here with groups larger than 4.

A little slice of biscotti heaven. With only 30 minutes to spare in the Strip District, we set out to find some sweets for the evening’s dinner. Enrico nearly fell in our lap as we trotted up the block. It was either the smell of butter pouring out the front door or the cozy«what’s going in on there?» street appeal that lured us in. Between the two of us we purchased everything from pumpking and fig and walnut biscotti to cannolis, lemon basil shortbread cookies, cream puffs and chocolate espresso tea cookies. Needless to say, this is the perfect place to visit if you find yourself en route to a tea-loving Italian family’s house for dinner. Almost every dessert we purchased was crafted for dunking. This place is pretty cozy. Rumor has it they have a mini café with seating in the back(behind the kitchen).
