Toys R Us

Avoid this store at all cost unless you want to make yous child cry. After driving 40 minutes in traffic to pick-​up an item that was put on-​hold for my daughter I was told no you can’t have it. We only have 1 in-​stock and the manager is holding it for someone else. So I was left with a crying kid for the rest of the day over the evil of their manager Ashley. This store has lost my business for GOOD!

While visiting my mother in Pittsburgh, we decided to take the rainy Saturday and go shopping. We headed up to the Robinson area, and came across this Toys R Us. The location is a bit offset, and I don’t think you would actually know this was here unless you found it on a map and were actively looking for it. This location is right next to IKEA, like literally, the building is the small and everything! The sign for Toys R Us is a bit hidden by a hill/​trees, so it’s not visible from the road.
Went in looking for Shopkins, and found that they had a special display just for them. Taped to the display was a sign that said that you were only allowed to purchase 3 items of the season 3 shopkins per customer, but this wasn’t something that they upheld at the register.
Everything is clearly marked, the store is clean, and the staff is friendly!

Ive been to this location a few times and it’s not too bad. It is a little hard to find if you arent sure where it’s located. It’s literally right next to Ikea, but since Ikea is larger and oddly shaped, Toys R Us gets lost back there.
I did an in-​store pick up of a toy that i had bought online. I ordered it online then it said that they store would be available in one hour. This was on the day before Christmas Eve so I had gotten lucky! I like that toys r us (and many stores now) let you see online if that item is available at the store.
Once getting to the store, I checked in at the customer service to let them know i was here for a pick up. She called the guys in the backroom and informed them of my last name. I honestly waited for a good 15 – 20 minutes and had to check back in the the customer service rep… not too much longer after that my item was brought to me. Overall a decent experience, especially the night before Christmas Eve. even with the brief wait for my item to be brought up to the desk.
The lady who was working at the customer service desk was really nice, especially considering that they were open all night and she worked 2am. she had multiple customers picking up, returning and calling to see if their item was in stock and handled it well.

I stopped in this Toys R Us to buy some Play-​Doh for a science project. I was able to buy what I needed, and the prices were OK. The cashier had difficulty with scanning the barcode on one of my items, and she had to call over another cashier to help.

This is based off of at least five trips I’ve made to this store in the last year. A majority of my trips were on Saturdays though some were on weekdays. There has never been more than two registers open, regardless of the number of people waiting in line. When it comes to the prices of diapers and baby food, even when things are on sale it’s still more expensive than other stores. The cashiers never seem to be happy to be working, even when I try to ‘lighten the mood’. They never seem to have much, if any, of the stuff that I go there to get. If you need/​want to return anything, you better have a receipt and some patience. The location is not the greatest, it’s right in the middle of Robinson, and Robinson is hectic. On my most recent trip, I had TWO cashiers that couldn’t count to 8!

it is your typical toys ‘r us. it is clean and well stocked. i have never had a negetive experience at this store.

‘Tis that time of year again and the mayhem begins anew. I am always surprised that people go so goo goo and gah gah over shopping during this 1 – 2 month period. Having worked in a toy store during 4 holiday seasons, I have learned to stay off the road during certain times. That being said, I needed a gift certificate. It is amazing that people still ask the same inane questions of the toy store staff that they asked me all those years ago. I don’t miss working at a toy store and found that the associates were VERY patient and helpful to the people that were making purchases.
Unfortunately, this attentiveness left me waiting for over 15 minutes before I was helped. I only wanted a gift certificate. Oh well, at least I wasn’t difficult like the other people.
