Great spot to grab a drink when out in south side. Friendly staff, great service and music is always on point!

I was so surprised to see negative reviews on here! I went here with a few friends last night(a Tuesday) and had an awesome time. We were originally just going to stop in for a drink, but ended up staying for 2 hours! They had a free nacho bar during the Pens game, $ 5 margaritas, and $ 2 coronas. And the free nacho bar was actually high-quality, with good cheese and lots of fresh toppings. They even kept replenishing the guacamole so it was green the whole time! The drink specials weren’t supposed to start for another 15 – 20 minutes, but our server was really nice and gave us the specials anyway. She was also very attentive – she cleared our drinks quickly and always made sure to ask if we wanted another. They had some good beers on tap, too. In the back corner there was a really fun darts game that wasn’t expensive and entertained us for over an hour. Also, they had a magician doing tricks for free. He didn’t try to keep us for too long and his tricks were really cool. I would definitely go back to this bar!

Went to this bar ! The people are so nice I didn’t buy any drinks because I was already drunk but I will say the bathrooms are terrible. Who would have thought to design a bathroom like that :/! The Dj played great music I liked the vibe I felt! I hope to go back and get the same experience !

I feel obligated to bring a different view after the myriad of hate review embarked on this establishment [not negating your opinions — that’s what you experienced] but these are the truth’s to mine. Twelve 1222 Carson is a completely remodeled and revamp bar which replaced the notorious Rumshakers, something I was happy to see as Rumshakers scared into treating it’s front entrance like a trained dog with an invisible fence [do not cross]. You enter the bar with a typical layout. To the left a full style bar to the right a dancefloor and a DJ booth with has rotating local DJs each week. To the back there are a few individual taller tables and eat the limited menu. I cannot comment on that as I’ve never eaten there. [I meant to as they offered $ 2 taco deals for the mustache march but didn’t get around to it] Now there will be completely different experiences with this bar depending on time and day. Friday and Saturday nights during prime time: The bar is located at the end of Carson directly across the street from Jacks, logically when you end up here many patrons will have already had a full night and are exhibit varying levels of behaviors. After 9pm there is a doorman who will scan for capacity and dress code [yes people of pittsburgh — dress code]. Now when I am normally dressed, the wait time is short or I’m treated like one of those obnoxious people who skip lines [life is too short to wait in lines] but I have also gotten turned away for wearing a tank top and raggedy jeans after a hula themed day party and volunteering outside [different occasions] no matter if I knew the management or not. So if you are not wearing a college uniform, you should be fine. As to the rudeness? I just apologize for your experience. Other Days and Times of Day: Best day to go is a Sunday night. The bar lays out a free buffet of some appetizers and has a spinning DJ who has played all throughout the hitlists of the past 3 decades. The bar is perfectly balanced, not too packed but there are definitely people out. Also the demographic is slightly older so I say i’m happy not to be surrounded by 21 year olds. During the Day time the Bartender we had saturday was engaging and helpful in recommendations, I was pretty happy to try a Mango Jalapeño Vodka [very good I must say]. No worries about lines and plenty of space to have fun. My take-away from this Bar. This is a end of Carson Southside Bar so be aware of your surroundings and realize that’s what you’re going to get. There is a definitely prep-[almost tool] vibe that comes with it so there’s definitely room for a change in scenery. However, all in all quite normal, the price point is regular yet pricier in relation to other Southside bars and there is a decent dancefloor. The total location and the bathrooms are clean so good for me.

I just recently wrote an unsatisfactory review just about a month ago for Twelve before, so I think the one of the owners deleted the previous profile on this site. Well here I am again, what goes around comes around! Too bad they cannot seem to handle criticism like a champ and to learn from their mistakes. Grow up A.B. In my opinion, this place is VERY discriminatory and very selective on playing favors about who is allowed in their bar. Reason being, I thought it was rude about how all of these people were waiting about and hour more in line to get into the establishment because he was letting a bunch of people in who didn’t have to wait an hour or longer to get into the bar. Then once I got into the bar I went and spoke one of the owners(Andrew Balint) in person as a customer about how unsatisfied I was with how he was treating me as a customer. When I approached him, I was very nice about it and was only asking him questions as to why he was letting all of these people who did NOT have to wait in line in. He pointed out a few people and said it was family.(I get that, I would let my family and very close friends in without having to wait in line. There is nothing wrong when it comes to family.) Well then I pointed to someone, I saw get in without waiting in line and asked him how he knew him. He didn’t say anything but a huff and a puff then walked away without finishing our convo like a teenager. After this, Andrew ran to his bouncer like a little baby that he is and told him to throw me out. So his bouncer physically grabbed me pushed and threw me out where I fell on the ground in front of everyone. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. Sad thing is, I was not drunk at all because I just got done spending time with my family at church and went to a dinner after work that day. So, therefore, yes I was sober and thought it was very unprofessional with how he was running his establishment and made nothing but a bunch of nonsense excuses for treating his customers badly. In fact, his main excuse was«oh its St. Pattys Day» well let me tell you, not everyone goes out to drink on St. Pattys day, and I am one of them. I just wanted to see my friends who like to drink while I sip on cranberry juice and water. Once again, like i said never have I ever been more humilated in my life. At least I was able to talk to him in person about it instead of hiding behind the computer to bash him. I was nothing but very respectful towards him about it, but no being a ego boosting jerk that Andrew is he got b*tchy like a woman about it. Basically, he handle the situation very poorly and very unprofessionally. I mean come on, what business owner would treat his customer in that manner. Whatever happened to the«customer is always right?» Thing is, I hardly ever go out and I just wanted to celebrate some time with my friends after finishing up a couple years at Pitt for getting my degree in Psychology because I hardly go out as I am a single mother. Moreover, this place is overpriced. Lastly, I just want to say, while I was observing and waiting for abt 45 minutes to get into Twelve on Carson seeing all of these people who were not his family and close friends, these were people he was letting based on looks, I knew this because he had let one of my friends in without having to wait in line, so once she got into the establishment she asked him if he would let me back in. So he did, but I was still completely and utterly upset, still in tears and all for being treating like I have no dignity, therefore I did not want to be there at all, so I just went in to say hi to my friend and asked how she got in so quick. She told me he let her in so I asked her how she knew him and all. Well her response was, i barely knew him but he just let me. I was so disgusted. Finally, I DONOT recommend this place at all, therefore, I am sure all of the 5 star positive comments are his friends and family!

First off, I would like to say that I’ve never written a negative review for any type of establishment. I’ve worked in the service industry for awhile and believe a lot of «bad service» can be attributed to misunderstandings between the guest and the employee or extenuating circumstances. That being said – the behavior of this staff definitely warrants a bad review. My friend and I were in Pittsburgh on St. Patty’s Day. We were staying at a hotel by Carson Street and decided to grab a drink around 730 pm. Twelve was the first place we stopped. When we got there, the bar was almost completely empty except for a gentleman sitting at the end of the bar and one table of four sitting in the corner. There was a dark haired female bartender on duty. My friend and I sat in the middle of the bar. We waited there for a couple of minutes. The bartender passed us multiple times without greeting us or offering us a drink. We assumed she was just busy until she settled down and started talking to the man at the end of the bar and eating Dairy Queen. While she was flirting with this guy, we waved at her and tried to get her attention. She looked at us multiple times and kind of laughed/smiled, but never came over to say hi. She just kept talking with the man at the end of the bar, serving him, and eating her DQ. Finally after about 10 minutes of being blatantly ignored, my friend and I decided to try our luck elsewhere. Right as we were about to get up and leave, a man walked in and sat down at the end of the bar closest to the door. The bartender put down her DQ immediately after seeing him walk in, walked across the bar and past me and my friend, and greeted the man, asking him if he would like a drink. At that point, my friend and I just left without trying anymore. I’m not sure why the two of us would be blatantly ignored in an empty bar, but it was probably the worst service I have ever received. From what we could see, this bartender probably just ignored us because we were female and didn’t expect much of a tip. She certainly took care of all the boys in the room. Just some advice, Twelve – if you want to make money and remain in business in general, you should probably show potential customers at least the minimum amount of respect and service. And also advice to potential customers — South Side is an awesome area with TONS of friendly bartenders, affordable drinks, and good food. If you’re thinking about stopping in here for a drink, I would definitely reconsider and just walk a little farther up the street.

This is the worst bar in the South Side. Security is rude and disrespectful. My friend went in ahead of me then Security wouldn’t let me in because they were«at capacity». I explained I would just go in and tell her but they absolutely refused. Then proceeded to let several people behind me in line go in. It was pouring rain and they would not let me stand under the overhang while I waited. Spoke with the owner who was even more disrespectful and told me I couldn’t stand on the sidewalk bc it is «private property». I wasn’t going to leave my friend, that is extremely dangerous! So I had to wait a bit down the street and got soaking wet. Been in before nice décor, but poor service and expensive drinks. Go to Mario’s, Jacks, or Diesel where you will at least be respected as a patron.
