Went there from out of town with 6 friends. Initially the outside made it a little difficult to find and looks sort of like a garage. We were weary at first but looks were totally deceiving. The staff was so personable and charming, telling us the individual stories behind each bottle of wine. They were accommodating and so friendly. The wine was also delicious and we ended up buying bottles to go. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Great staff explained everything from how they make their wine to how they package it and sell it. Many funny stories everyone is friendly and the prices are very cheap

We had a great experience at Balderdash! Honestly, we almost drove by… It is in an interesting location. But once you step inside it’s an immaculate, cool, modern wine making workshop. They have a bar and tables set up right in the middle of the whole operation. They owners were really great, they told us the story for each wine label and explained how it was made — really interesting… and delicious!

Soooo I have to say simply said… awesome experience. The owners showed such personal attention to us during our wine tasting that it was an amazing experience. Christian and Donna husband and wife team what a dynamic duo! Thank you again for creating a great moment with our close friends… and the fact that their wine was superb was a plus.

My roommate and I loved our experience at the Balderdash winery. We went to the winery when in the Berkshires one weekend and enjoyed the entire experience. We were able to taste all of the wines and loved hearing all the back stories behind the names of the wines, etc. Our absolute favorite wine was Tollbooth, we are white wine lovers and really enjoy its sweet, unique taste, we’ve never had a wine quite like it before. Every time we visit the Berkshires we are sure to purchase 2 bottles for ourselves to take back to boston. They have a great variety of wines but we have a true obsession with Tollbooth… looking forward to visiting the winery again and trying any new whites! Hopefully their wine will be available in the Boston area soon

My husband and I had the best afternoon at the Balderdash winery. Not only are their wines so varied and delicious but we were lucky enough to be able to volunteer on a wine bottling line. We met some great people and had so much fun! The owners Chris and Donna were so down to earth and funny! Definitely worth the trip! I can’t wait to return.

My sister wanted something different for her bachelorette party. We rented a house in Pittsfield and while researching ideas on Unilocal came across Balderdash Cellars. The reviews on Unilocal led me to e-mail the owner Christian to set up a private wine taste testing. The owners are the nicest people. We had cheese, nuts, and fruit with our wine tasting. We were told a story about how each wine received its name… making it such a personal experience. My sisters friends made comments such as «this is the best wine tasting I have ever been too» and«the aroma of every wine is amazng» Everyone walked away from the tasting VERY happy. THANKYOU for such a great experience and we hope to visit you again soon!

What a find! Great winery with fabulous wines. Been twice in two weeks had to bring our best wine friends back! Each wine has a label with a personal story. I can’t say enough about this winery. The tasting experience is wonderful. Looking forward to many more trips back! See you soon Kristen & Robb

Wonderful find in the most unlikely place… a basement under a Subway. They are really tough to find but well worth it as the wines were amazingly good. We talked to the Owner/Winemaker, Christian, and learned they bring in only the best grapes from California and do everything possible to make them into ultra premium quality wines. Tastings are in a fun setting in the middle of the tanks and barrels in the winery. I learned a lot about he process and enjoyed some terrific wines. My favorite is a really top end Pinot Noir. We purchased several wines and will be buying more. It is a great way to have some fun, try some great wines and learn about wine making from some terrific folks. Hopefully, they will improve the signage to help folks find their wonderful winery. Balderdash Cellars is unlike any other local New England Winery in their focus on making ultra premium wines while making it fun for everyone. I expect big things from them as they grow.

Finding Balderdash cellars was a bit of an adventure in itself. Just look for a sign that may be adverstising for a lemonade sale in the back of a small plaza. Then they had paper signs taped to their doors inviting us in. Don’t let this signage deter you from trying some wonderful wines. Christian the owner and wine making was wrapping up from a big group when we came in. He also offered some local cheeses to try along with the 8 wines in his portfolio. There were some really interesting choices, not at all being a wine drinker I couldn’t tell you what they were. They were all very enticing. Their tag line is Wicked wines with tall tales. Each label was distinct and had a great tale behind the name of the wines. We were even lucky enough to meet the In-laws behind the name of the Joyride Pino Noir. All in all a great winery that seems to have some lofty goals for their future.
