What an absolute pleasure. Top notch productions in a wonderful theater. All of the 520 seats in this former vaudeville theater have great sight lines.
I go to almost every production and I am rarely disappointed. The musicals are generally incredible.
Other than Tanglewood, this is the best venue in the Berkshires.

FALLS VILLAGE, CT
I’ve given up on theatre in the Berkshires. It’s just so mediocre. The theatre here caters to a 60+ white, affluent, heterosexual crowd, and it’s BORING. Just saw «Man of La Mancha» tonight at Barrington Stage. Why bother putting on this musical? The story is not interesting, the score is not that good. The male lead did not have a captivating voice. I considered walking out several times during the production… only the young black woman lead held my attention. She had charisma and a beautiful voice.

What a great production. Thank you for bringing Man of La Mancha to the stage, it had been absent for far too long. Well worth the drive from the Boston area, especially if you can spend some more time in the Berkshires.

Best theater in the Berkshire. Rarely disappoints. «Butler» and «Man of La Mancha» particularly good this year. Don’t miss it (all venues).

Saw an incredible production of Fiddler on the Roof here this weekend. And while the show was a little long for me, clocking in at three hours, I enjoyed it nevertheless. The actors were super talented and in my opinion, the show was on par with ones I’ve seen on Broadway.
Since we bought tickets at the very last minute, my seat was in the corner of the theater. I thought this meant I wouldn’t be able to see a thing but I actually ended up with a great view that was just a little bit off to the side.
The theater itself was a little chilly, even for summer, but other than that, no complaints.

I am giving a five star review to Barrington’s second stage. I recently saw productions of Bashir Laszar and Lungs in the last month at the second stage and they both held my attention. Lungs was serious theater. The timing of the show was the most notable aspect to me. The show used timing to create changes in place and time and did so very well. The two actors held my attention throughout the entire 90 minutes or so without an intermission. This, coupled with the completely bare stage, was impressive.
Bashir Laszar was a staged reading and the story was timely and heartbreaking. The lead held his own and was a passionate inhabitant of the character. It was well directed and the minimalist set was well chosen and was used skillfully.

I was here last December for a Christmas event and was really impressed. The theater was showing the old claymation Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer for a room full of thrilled kids, the concession stand was giving out hot and cold cider, along with a yummy assortment of cookies, and best of all the staff were all dressed up as Christmas characters. The kids got to have their picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and there were elves all around. The theater itself has been lovingly renovated inside and the bathrooms were immaculately clean. I haven’t yet been to an actual theater production here, but if they put even a portion of the enthusiasm into their regular season as they did their Christmas event, I’m sure it would be wonderful.

A nice little theatre in Pittsfield… There is not a bad seat in the house. I’ve been to a few shows at Barrington Stage. It doesn’t offer the same old school, charming atmosphere of some other theatres, but the staff is friendly and the place is nice and clean. Plenty of parking nearby, and a handful of eateries in close proximity. Three stars — I say it’s «A-​OK».
