Our favorite restaurant in the Berkshires. Almost entirely vegetarian main menu with incredible meats on special. I keep trying to get through the whole menu but the rotating specials get me every time. Ingredients are locally sourced and the atmosphere is warm and quaint. You often need weeks to get a reservation but call hoping for a cancellation. You might sit at the Governor’s table.

Some friends and I drove down from Williamstown to eat at Elizabeth’s after it was highly recommended to us by another friend. We were lucky enough to get a same-day reservation for a late dinner. I tend to stick to restaurants in a lower price range, but Elizabeth’s was worth the splurge. The shared fresh salad was great, especially with warm delicious bread, and I had the Eggplant Provencal which was a warm and comforting dish. A full-bodied red wine rounded things out! Tom came up and shared some favorite poetry with us when he found out we teach literature. Overall, a unique and memorable dining experience.

There is alot of good food in the Berkshires, but this was our favorite. We came here twice in a week during our last visit. The service is authentic and friendly; it feels like you’re being invited into someone’s home. Most of the dishes are vegetarian, but they have meat specials off menu that change occasionally. I had the baked shell brisket bolognese special, it may have been the BEST dish I’ve ever eaten! I highly recommend Elizabeth’s! Tip: CASHONLY

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the Berkshires. As a longtime local resident, we’ve tried pretty much every restaurant in the area. Very few, if any, are so unique and consistently good as Elizabeth’s! I’m a vegetarian so I am slightly biased, as their menu is 80% vegetarian entrees with occasional meal specials. Each entrée is served with a huge bowl of amazing salad, which is different every time, and fresh baked bread. This past week, our salad had cheddar cheese chunks, raisins, grapes, tomatoes, sliced pineapple, and feta. We’re almost always relatively full by the time our dinners come out, but it always makes for an amazing lunch the next day! I recommend the 4 cheese lasagna and the baked Gorgonzola creamy shells. The experience as a whole is unique. Tom and his wife, the owners, run the kitchen and will walk around and chat with you to make sure everything is good. The building is located in an industrial part of the city and used to be a private house. Tom and his wife aren’t fancy or pretentious and therefore don’t care if you have a million excuses as to why you’re late, why you didn’t make reservations, how important you are, etc. Good people, even better food.

We ate here a few days ago and it was superb. Everyone was very friendly, especially Tom the owner. It is clear that they love what they do and that they put a lot of care and attention into the preparation of each meal. It is highly advisable to call ahead for a reservation. The place isn’t too big and it is very popular– the night we went we managed to reserve the last table.

Excellent experience!!! From the way the menu is written, to the hospitality, to the food, Elizabeth’s is great! I’m so happy we chose to go here. We had a hummus appetizer with picked vidalia onions(I normally hate onions), which was amazing. The salad was FANTASTIC as everyone said it would be. I was almost too full for our entrée but that was also delicious so I couldn’t help it! The owner stopped by a few times, everyone was so nice and I can’t wait to go back!

Stop reading the reviews and call to get a reservation. This is the most consistently tasty restaurant in Pittsfield. From start to finish, every dish is consistently excellent. But, also expect the«Soup Nazi» treatment. If you get in, arrive on time and go with the flow.(Warning: Bring cash. No credit cards here.) Meals start with an incredible fresh salad served family style. It is a little different each time, but generally contains greens, apples, watermelon, cheese, raisins, and lots more in a house made balsamic vinaigrette. No two mouthfuls are the same. You may not want to get the appetizers because the main courses are so big! But, you will be missing out on some amazing dishes. GETLIZZY’S OWNROASTEDWILDMUSHROOMS. Do not miss it. Even if you do not like mushrooms, get it. As the menu says, «Your first kiss should be this good.»(The menu is hilarious.) I love the tapenade. It is so flavorful that it puts other olive dishes to shame. I have thought about just having a dinner of salad and appetizers. But, then … The Baked Eggplant Provencal with mushrooms, carmelized onion, baby spinach, mozzarella and lavender makes me swoon!(The menu says, «A light fragrant dish redolent of all things French without the attitude.») And, it is gluten-free! If you prefer gluten, there is an amazing assortment of lasagna, shells and more. Of course, none of this includes the specials — that are always fresh and often local. That being said — leave any pretentious personal attitudes behind. Elizabeth’s is in a brightly colored house that was converted into a small restaurant in an industrial part of town. The owner could not care if you are a high powered New York executive. You WILL need a reservation and you should have made it days ago. You will wait for your table, take your turn and pay in cash/check. You WILL lose your reservation if you are even a few minutes late. The restaurant IS family friendly. So, kids are not a problem. They will make a wonderful pasta dish for the junior members of the group. So, just go with the flow, take in the atmosphere and enjoy this delight!
