Home Textures seemed like a nice, local family-​based operation. but then they got my perfectly ordinary order wrong for window shades – actually ordered a configuration the shade manufacturer told me had never been ordered before by anyone – turned nasty, insisting that I pay them over $ 400 to make the correction. Rather than have any more to do with them, I forfeited my $ 1000 deposit – they refused to give it back – and went to another company. They also drilled holes in my new moldings for tie winders (without discussing it with me) which were not necessary and would have interfered with the look of my house. The national franchise I later happily went with, told me they hardly ever install tie winders and certainly not before discussing it with the client. I could have taken them to small claims court for my deposit, but it’s just not in my nature. Good riddance!
