Went here for lunch with a co-worker for my first time. I ordered first and ordered the mini veggie sub since I’m vegetarian. It took me a second to realize that the worker was cleaning the slicing machine down before making my sub. I just thought maybe it was time to clean it. After my sub was made and I was paying at the register, the cashier apologized for the wait and said the slicer needs to be cleaned before making the veggie sub. I then realized I was the one who held up the line while the machine was cleaned and felt a little bad. I think maybe there should just be 2 machines so this doesn’t happen. As far as the sub, I got it ‘Mike’s Way’ without tomato. I like the spices and the vinegar and oil mixture even though it makes the bread a little soggy. I thought the mini was just the right size and I like how it’s a mini loaf instead of a large loaf cut in half. Veggie sandwiches in general can be hit or miss but this combination of ingredients was really good. I was kind of looking forward to a pickle but I didn’t see that they had any besides the little pickle chips you can put on the sandwich. Overall I’ll go back again.

Truly the best subs and the friendliest staff around! Great place to stop in and grab a sub! It’s more then just a fast food place the staff truly finds a way to make it more of an experience and have a real conversation with you! I’ve only ever gone for dinner have yet to go during the day but eager to try they’re lunches as well! Hands down the best sub and the best staff in the area!

One of my favorite places to grab quick food. Always so delicious! My favorite sub is #6 roast beef, but I enjoy the #13 original Italian

A number 9 is the way to go. Make sure you know that you can get yellow mustard, pepper, and other stuff that isn’t at the front counter. Just ask. Make sure you sign up for the sub club to start racking up points.

I ordered deliver from Jersey Mikes this evening. Keep in mind I haven’t ordered a cheese steak since I lived in Philly over 8 years ago. I now live in Ohio and YOUCANNOTGET A CHEESESTEAKSANDWICH there… They sell something they call a cheesesteak, but it isn’t. The last time I ordered a cheesesteak away from Philly I was so disappointed I vowed NEVERAGAIN… I just broke by vow and it was finally worth it. Holy Crap… this was soooo good, it ate the whole LARGE15″ sandwich… I’m a little bloated right now… but also very happy. I think I’m gonna go down to the hotel front desk and ask if anyone can burp me.

I’ve been here a few times. Always fast and friendly. Chipotle cheese steak is definitely a rich, slightly spicy, and filling choice if you’re in the mood for a hot sub. The original is a good choice for a cold sub.

Just went in to get a sandwich since my power is out. Asked for a mike’s way sandwich with roast beef and provolone and to be toasted. The guy working said they couldn’t toast it because it is against their policy as those are normally cold sandwiches. What’s the point of a mikes way sandwich then? Especially since they serve toasted sandwiches. The guy thought I was crazy for asking for a toasted sandwich. Won’t be going back there. I’ll take my business to potbelly

Do NOT order the chicken parm. Like rubber. No refund. Employee told us, «We get a lot of complaints about that sandwich. I don’t know why they leave it on the menu.» Like tearing up money. Find a Subway.

Good subs. I like that everything is sliced when you order. They are good with helping you order for the first time.

I’m kind of between 3 and 4 stars here but I’ll give them the fourth star. I’ve had Jersey Mike’s a couple of times and I like it very much(just not as much as my favorite place, DiBella’s). The subs are solid versions(I’m an Italian sub freak) here and I have no complaints about anyhting. It’s a very well executed sub… a bit on the small side for the price but I still like the flavor when it’s done«Mike’s way».If I’m hungry and I’m on that side of town, I’ll definitely pull in for a sub here.

For me this place ranks higher than say a Subway or a Potbelly’s but not quite as high as a Jimmy John’s(my particular sub chain place of choice). It’s pretty good! The bread is fresh and I dig that they freshly slice everything for you to order. The toppings aren’t that varied but they’re perfect for most sandwiches – lettuce, tomato, oil and vinegar, mayo, peppers and cheeses. Hot subs have more options(from mushrooms to sauerkraut) and varieties like cheese steaks and meatball subs. They have a variety of cold sub options as well – everything from veggie to loaded with Italian meats and cheeses. You can also get them without bread in what they call«a tub» if you’re gluten free or just watching your carbs. I like the brand of chips they offer(the name escapes but they’re kettle cooked) and it was a clean and comfortable place to grab a quick lunch when I was on the go. Yes, I’d definitely go back and partake in another sub in the future!

I was waffling between 3 and 4 stars, but considering this place had the cleanest restaurant bathroom I’ve ever been in, even including really upscale places in Ann Arbor, I rounded upward. You might think that’s a silly reason, but I recently read an interview with a restaurant health inspector who said the care a restaurant takes with its bathrooms is usually on par with the attention they pay to sanitation in the kitchen. That’s a sobering thought. On to the food! I think the subs are good if a tad over-hyped. I got the tuna on wheat, and while it was good, I would recommend NOT getting this«Mike’s Way» because that includes red wine vinegar, which didn’t mesh with the tuna. I’m sure it’d be good on many meat and cheese subs, though. I liked the selection of chips and drinks as well. Prices are okay– neither particularly high or low. I think my «regular» size sub(which is fatter than a half-sub at Subway) plus chips cost $ 7 and a bit of change. It’s probably worth it to pay a little bit more to get their fresh-sliced deli meats and cheeses on subs. Unlike another reviewer, I had really good service, and when I mentioned I had never been there before, they explained what«Mike’s Way» was and patiently explained the options and sandwich sizes. I had walked here from a few blocks away, and it suddenly started snowing really hard, practically blowing sideways. The staff didn’t give me a hard time about taking up one of their booths for over an hour while I waited for a break in the weather to walk back. I’d definitely come back here for lunch if I was in the area.

I like Mike’s. I like them a lot. Good fresh baked bread. Good ingredients. Good actual flavor. Everything comes together into a well balanced and delicious sandwich, and certainly miles ahead of most chains. so far I’ve tried: The Famous Italian: a bit of an addiction of mine right now, and somewhat lighter then my local standards: Vinnie’s, Gonella’s, Alcamo’s in a good way. They do go a little crazy with the oil, but you can ask them to ease up. The Philly Cheese Steak: Good quality steak, and cheese you can actually taste compared to Gabrielles. The peppers actually add a fair amount of sweetness, but it works for me. In this case, the bread maybe a hair too soft to stand up to the filling, but it’s still works.(the hot pepper relish overwhelms this one.) The Roast Beef Club: The employees get a twinkle in their eyes when they talk about their in house made Roast Beef. I thought it was a good sandwich. The Reuben: Not my thing, but my wife loves it, so not sure where that leaves me.

For hot subs I would give it a two, for cold subs I’m giving it a solid four. Just stick to cold and you will be happy here The original Italian has meats sliced to order(I skipped pepperoni but my husband did not). The bread is just as David S describes. Nice chew yet its yields well, it stands up to the ingredients and toppings but does not overwhelm. They do slice the meat to order and that is key to sub happiness. Get it Mike’s way as the fresh veggies are a perfect combo, the red wine vinegar and oil add needed lubrication for the sandwich and the spice shaker adds a bit of zing. I like the hot cherry pepper relish here but it will dominate this combo. Get it on the side and decide for yourself. The second time we came here we went hot. The famous Philly was fairly low on my list of those in the area, the hot cherry pepper relish was the main thing that was saving it for me. The steak was kind of chewy. The cheese was really good but the bread was soggy from the contents and it was just not working. Overall kind of a hit or miss affair. My husband had a meatball, hated the sauce, thought the meatballs themselves were blah and thought the cheese was pretty scarce. That was a total trainwreck. I see Elizabeth K had a similar experience with a sauced sub, wish I had read her review before he attempted it. It was not the wrapping and unwrapping that did it to hers, they just are not good. I like the option here for sub in a tub. Its a great thing for the gluten free as well as for me when my blood sugar is too high to indulge in that much bread. My husband was happy with Pepsi products, as that is his preference. I will be back for a third trip, a four star cold sub of some sort for sure. You will like too it if thats what you are looking for. If you want a hot sub, keep on driving.

Jersey Mike’s is a sub chain newly arrived in Ann Arbor, located on a stretch of Carpenter Road without many great food options. This place is good for a quick and casual bite. I’ve visited Jersey Mike’s twice now, and have sampled three subs to mixed results. On the first visit, I had a turkey and provolone. It was delicious — freshly, thinly sliced meat and cheese, great bread, and your choice of a limited number of toppings — including a fabulous and tangy red pepper spread. On the second visit, both my husband and I had hot subs. He had the Kahuna, which is like a souped up steak and cheese. They cook the meat and peppers on the grill right when you order it, so the sandwich is piping hot with delicious melted cheese. Definitely a winner. I, on the other hand, had the chicken parmesan. It was terrible. Lukewarm, with pasty marinara that immediately soaked into the bread and made it gluey. Super disappointing. Keep in mind: the hot subs do NOT come with your choice of the toppings automatically, so if you want them you must mention it upon ordering. They had to open my sub back up after it was wrapped to add lettuce + onion, which may have contributed to it being so blah. I would go back, but I would stick with the cold sandwiches.

For cold subs, it doesn’t get any better. I finally had a chance to check them out and tried the original italian. I was amazed by the fact that they slice the cheese and meat fresh, after you order. Vegetable toppings were fresh. I got it Mike’s way, with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil and vinegar, and some kind of seasoning. The bread was really good as well… perfect combo of crust and softness. It was a very simple(in a good way) preparation and the freshness and simplicity shined through. For hot subs, you have a plethora of choices(subway, quiznos, tubbys) depending on your mood. For cold subs, nothing I’ve had comes close to what I had here.

Got to be honest, had Original Italian(#13) from here today(first time ever trying this place) and this is probably the best italian sub i have ever had. The Juice(oil vingerette like) along with the the freshly sliced meat is perfect. I can’t say no more, the only reason why i gave it 4 stars is because of there was barely no chips to go with the meal and i did also have a bite of their steak hoagie and didn’t like it. However when it comes to cold subs, this is this the place to go to.

I have been here twice now and tried three different items and have not been disappointed yet. I have tried the Original Italian and it was excellent. The quality of the meats were really good and the fact that it was cut fresh made all the difference to me. The Cheesesteak was very good. I thought the bread and the meat along with all of the other items on the sandwich were terrific. The Club Sub was amazing. The person made the sandwich with extra bacon for me and it was perfect. I will Make Mikes a new go to place for a GOOD sub when I can.

Whoa this place is over-hyped… I got something in the mail that said something about how in every city they open a Jersey Mike’s it is consistently voted the number one sub in that area. If they didn’t put this on their flyer I may have given them three stars. But because they talked themselves up so much I was expecting a lot more than I got. The Pastrami sub was okay(I had to wait about 7 minutes for it) but Dibella’s is still number one.

Overall, a pretty decent sandwich. I probably would’nt drive across town just for a sandwich here when I can get Potbelly’s or DiBella’s near my home but when at Home Depot, I’ll definately keep it in mind. The meat is cut fresh when you order and some of their toppings such as red wine vinegar and a red pepper relish are interesting. The bread is also excellent! Give ‘em a try… Tell them” Mike sent ya!!”
