We were passing through town and gave this restaurant a try. It was one of the best meals we have had. The food was delicious and the server was excellent. For an appetizer we had chicken empanadas, which were tasty with a crispy shell. The main dishes were breaded chicken and red snapper, both excellent choices recommended by the server. We will definitely be back when we pass through the area again!

I haven’t had such great Columbian food since I was a kid and this place definitely took me back to my childhood. With their authentic cuisine and welcoming atmosphere, you don’t want to miss out on this place. Gracias con todo mi corazon.

Rustic place and has a very authentic feel and taste to their food. The people are very nice and accommodating. Good Columbian coffee, but flan was a little sweet.

We had lunch here today. The food was so flavorful and there was more than we could eat. It was our first Colombian food and we can’t wait to try more. The backside of the restaurant where we sat was very pleasant and they were in the process of painting wall art which looked amazing. Great find.

The few dishes I’ve had here have been uniformly excellent. The only reason I haven’t had more is that the menu is meat-heavy, with few choices for vegetarians. That said, the non-meat salads are fresh and crispy, and the fried plantains should not be missed — absolutely delicious. Even better, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the restaurant always feels lively yet relaxed, even when busy. Prices are a good value as well, considering the generous portion size.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my daughters. Basic ambiance but excellent Columbian food. Servers were fun and friendly. I usually find beans to be a cheap side dish but loved the beans served here.

Stopped in for lunch and had grilled chicken, rice, beans, and sweet plantains. Excellent. I’ll be back to try some of the dinner foods. One of the better places to eat in Pittsfield, unless you are looking for more upscale. I’m local. As mentioned, I’ll be back.

This was the best Colombian food I’ve ever tasted and I’ve been to Colombia ! Giant portions and amazing flavor! The pork on the Bandera plate was awesome too! Great local business run by a hard working family. I think this is the best option for those traveling through or that live here!

I was intrigued to try Columbian food — and I enjoy eating, and traveling, low to the ground, that is, authentic. This place was hyped on Unilocal so I gave it a go for lunch. I was a bit disappointed. It was okay, not mind-blowing. I had chorizo with arepas. Both very good. The salsas are delicious, especially the green with mucho garlic! I was happy and looking forward to the main dish. Arroz con pollo was eh. Mucho rice with turmeric for color, frozen peas and some bland chicken pieces. I requested tortillas, which was a good move, for a mere $ 1 extra added to bill. They were muy bueno — soft, warm and delicious. Rice in tortillas? Why not? With salsa and it’s pretty good. Would I go out of my way to eat here again? No. Friendly, somewhat incompetent waitress, but pleasant. I asked for water with no ice, she repeated back to me, and brought me water with ice. She asked if I wanted green or sweet plantains, I chose green, and was brought sweet. They were very greasy.

How much meat, rice, beans and plantains can you eat when it is cooked to perfection with Colombian spices? If the answer is, I love this menu — then come right now. If you are focused on Kripalu-style vegan cooking — well — perhaps you want to look at the next restaurant on this list.(I do not think a tofu has come anywhere near this kitchen!) This restaurant is off the beaten path. What a happy surprise! I probably would not have walked in if it was not for the wonderful Unilocal reviews. But, once again, Unilocal does not do me wrong. When you walk in, you see table after table with local people who clearly come from South America. You do not feel uncomfortable. Rather, you feel that things are authentic and they are glad to share their style of cooking with you. I confess that I do not know enough about Colombia to know what to order.(A friend of ours from Colombia tells me that it is authentic.) So, I probably missed the best items. The sausages are amazing. And, the plantains in a cheesy sauce were great. Come for the adventure.

La Fogatta is hard to Forgetta! What a happy surprise to find it thanks to Unilocal! We had a wonderful filling lunch after sledding. Chicken soup was chock full of Latin hallmarks like yucca and sweet plantains. Empanadas with a delightful outer crunch contained delicious fillings and came with two dynamite dipping sauces. The first was a standard red chile but the second was a bracing oil, garlic and fresh herb sauce that was used later to perfectly accompany the delectable fried green plantains(tostones). We liked the steak plate typico. Steak, rice, beans, plantains, avocado, corn cake and if that isn’t enough they top it with a fried egg — more than enough for two in case you were wondering. We also had the Chuletta plate with those wonderful beans and rice and that’s where we got the tostones. Enjoy yourselves at this authentic Colombian gem!
