After traveling all day and checking into a motel, we found The Roasted Garlic restaurant. My husband was not able to eat due to a medical problem. Our server Sage was most accommodating. She brought hot tea to my husband and I enjoyed a fabulous pizza(Verdue). It had a wonderful pesto sauce and delicious fresh vegetables. It was topped with my favorite greens, arugula. The pizza crust was thin and baked in a wood-fired oven… it was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. I saved a couple pieces and hope my husband can enjoy some tomorrow. Very busy restaurant which is always a good sign. Many thanks again to Sage… she made our evening! From Ginny C of Sonoita, Arizona

Agree with many. Nice atmosphere, nice bartenders and the brick oven pizza is some of the best I’ve had out of NYC. The pizza ‘maker’ is so attentive to every pie and it comes out perfectly

I ordered a chicken bacon club. The chicken was so small that It was basically bread and mayo because I couldn’t eat my bacon since it was grossly undercooked. I don’t think I would venture here again.

This place has great pizza! All of their specialty pizzas sounded amazing but I went with the tried and true pepperoni. Lots of gooey cheese and a generous amount of pepperoni on top. The crust is soft and crunchy at the same time. Not quite Neapolitan but I would still call it a thinner crust(which I love). I also liked that their sauce was slightly sweet and had lots of herbs. Overall just delicious

We had a delicious meal — pizza and Chicken Parmesan. Service was fast and friendly too. Nice cozy atmosphere in here too. Reasonable prices.

Prices are on the high side. My pasta was kind of tasteless but the pizza was delicious. I’m on the fence about this place with 2 visits. The patio wasn’t open on either visit but I bet it’s fun out there.

Had such high hopes for this place after reading such glowing reviews. Struggling to figure out why anyone would rate it so highly. For us, it was average at best. Ordered roasted head of garlic for app — one of their«signature» dishes. Definitely have had better; not worth rave reviews. It came with 4 pieces of toasted bread. When the hostess put it on our table, she asked if we wanted more bread. We did and she brought 4 more small pieces. When we got the bill, surprised to find that the restaurant charged us for those extras. Though it would still have been annoying, it would have been better had she told us that upfront. The server did take it off the bill though after we asked. My son loved his meatball dish but he has not really met a meatball that he doesn’t like! Arugula and berry salad was just okay — needs toasted nuts to enhance the flavors(a suggestion we made to server). Also had the margherita pizza which was just mediocre. A disappointing meal all around. Would not recommend.

Best pizza in town. Staff is friendly, food is delicious, their homemade chips are to die for. Parking can be a problem if it’s busy and the draft beer selection leaves something to be desired, but the food makes it worth dealing with.

Was looking for a place in the Pittsfield area we hadn’t tried before and found The Roasted Garlic on Unilocal. We were hungry and ordered a lot more food than we usually do. I got the signature garlic appetizer and when I told the server I don’t eat tomatoes she quickly offered more bread. We also had the potato chips with blue cheese dip. They were perfect: not too thin or too thick. Just great. My daughter had the butternut squash soup and that was excellent. For the entrees we had the smoked turkey sandwich and the BBQ chicken pizza. All great. No room for dessert but we’ll definitely be back.

We love this place. Server suggestion of stuffed banana peppers for a starter was a winner. Reuben sandwich and Bronx Bomber pizza were standouts. Service was knowledgeable, cheerful, and quick. Ambience very nice and a surprise for this area. As it got very busy, a kitchen worker came out to serve food as it came up. Excellent teamwork and customer service.

I really really like this place. I’m here on business and it is hard to find a good meal, when you come from saturated North Jersey. You can eat anything you want anytime, so the bar can be a little unrealistic for a small town like Pittsfield. I had the grilled salmon. It came with seasonal sides of roasted corn and fingerling potatoes with rock salt. I ate every bit. The dinner salad with the house white balsamic was lovely. I even got a quesdilla to go, since I had dinner at 445. Greedy! I know. Anyway, try this place. I adore it. Ciao!

Delicious. If you drive by you must stop. Great place to stop and have a bite. We sat outside on this beautiful day. Appetizers were delicious. My Greek salad with chicken was delightful. Service was pleasant. A little pricey for lunch but I didn’t mind because it was delicious.

Extraordinary! The soup alone was a standout! The roasted garlic appetizer lived up to the great reviews. Every menu item was intriguing we settled on the garlic, arugula pizza! So tasty! The waitresses were helpful and friendly. On top of things. Great place, not to be missed

Truly delicious! We started with a roasted head of garlic with roasted tomatoes and toasted bread(had to order extra). My husband ordered BBQ chicken pizza; my kids a cheese pizza; and I an arugula, fresh berries(strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry), and fried goat cheese salad. It was definitely one of the best salads of my life. No leftovers for us! We visited on a Monday night(contrary to its Unilocal listing, it is open on Monday), and they offered margarita and sangria specials. It’s a few miles from Hancock Shaker Village. Combine the two for a memorable day.

Kind of shocking to find this place, a high end wood-fired-oven-pizza and gourmet bar food place, where it is; it’s not just that it’s Pittsfield, it’s that the restaurant is surrounded(pretty literally) by a boat dealership and looks like it ought to be a grindhouse, or at least a road house. The signature roasted garlic appetizer was excellent; small portion with only four slices of toasted bread/baguette, but a whole garlic and a nice little plate of tomatoes, with elegant presentation. The salad was decent, not extraordinary, but was mercifully free of iceberg butts. Nice white balsamic vinaigrette. We tried a mediterranean veggie white pizza with arugula, which is hard to pull of, but the arugula topping was braised just enough. The standard cheese pizza was nice, and the quesadilla and italian standard dishes were good. Serving salsa and sour cream in little plastic cups, though, seemed odd and downscale compared to the food. Everything pretty much ran in the $ 9-$ 12 range — appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, pizzas, with the steaks on the high side of $ 20. Service was peppy on a busy night, and management was present without being intrusive. The food came out reasonably quickly(but not suspiciously so) and in the right order on a hopping night. All signs of a well-run place. That said, here’s why I nearly gave it a three-star review: the layout of this place is really bad, and combined with the ceilings, it is extremely loud. You have to take stairs to get up(and go through to get out to the deck), and there are odd risers around the edge. The spacing of the tables is such we kept getting bumped by both other patrons and by the staff(who need to be trained not to do this). This space obviously had to have been another retail establishment of some sort before, and the build out just wasn’t done quite right. The ambiance was distracting from an otherwise lovely experience. The boat dealership is another kind of distraction — there’s boats all around the lot, and there aren’t enough parking spots dedicated to the restaurant, but if you park in a certain area you run the risk of the boatyard gates being closed on your car. That said, any place that has a train going around the top gets the bonus star from the kids, so voila.
