I believe this branch of the Salvation Army just moved to west street in Pittsfield, closer to the center of town. My review is for their old location on W. Housatonic street, but hopefully the only thing that’s changed about this this gem of the thrift store world is the address. Where to start? a huge space(hopefully still true!), with racks and racks of quality used clothing. Great vintage stuff, good newer items too. I don’t usually buy second hand clothes for resale(just for me’self!) but when I saw a excellent condition burburry duffel coat for $ 40, I knew I could resell it for 5X that amount, and I did! They have quite a lot of designer names at this Salvation Army, must be all the richies from NYC that summer near tanglewood and clean out their closets each spring. Fun, and funky items… crazy cocktail dresses, orange polyester bell bottoms, terry cloth beach onesies, you name it. The store is always clean and well organized, and never a long wait at the register. This place is never very busy so there is plenty of elbow room and no fighting over that awesome cow-girl, fringed denim shirt. They have tons of other items besides clothes… furniture, albums, electronics, shoes, books, toys and games, home furnishings and a great nick nack section with weird stuff for your cool urban pad. I plan to visit their new location the next time i’m in town, so look forward to an update. I hope I don’t have to change my five star rating.
