They left my 6 yr old in a van for 45 minutes and the teachers laughed about it when she returned to the classroom. I was never informed by the daycare.

After Care and Summer Camp, specifically, are very poorly run. The executive level staff has NO IDEA how to talk to and handle children. They are unprofessional, rude, and extremely immature and impatient. Not a great combo when you are supposed to entrust your KIDS to them. We had to pull our children out as we felt it was just too damaging an environment for them.
I hope your child is a perfect angel, because if your child is ever difficult, they will be branded for their entire duration there and be treated as ‘second class’ children. Children have been denied milk, even though The Commission on Economic Opportunity supplies milk for FREE to the YMCA for any child that WANTS it. They should NEVER be denied milk!!!
To stress — the problem lies not with the lower level staff; they usually do a great job in spite of constant terrible decisions of the Executive staff.
Although the building has gotten a bit of a makeover, it seems like it’s all «surface’ improvements, just making the place look good to investors, new members, and the board. The entire management of this place is just rotting from within, starting with its CEO and Director of Child Care.
This is a SHAME. I’ve been a member for YEARS and have NEVER seen it this bad.
