Danette’s Brick Oven Pub

This place has a great selection of craft beer and delicious pizza! Since Danette became the owner, this place has such a comfortable vibe and I have gotten wonderful service. Great place to go and catch a game with friends or have a fun date night.

Found this place on Unilocal when we were up at Apple Hill looking for a lunch spot, very glad we chose to give it a try. As a beer lover, I enjoyed the décor with beer taps lining the edge of the bar and dining room and the great variety of beer on tap with plenty of local brews and some of my favorites from outlying areas. I had the Pastrami Burger which instantly won me over, it’s among the best I’ve had right up there with my all-​time favorite, Dad’s Burger from Dad’s Kitchen.
My son had the kids’ cheese pizza and it looked and smelled great, he said it was and I can tell it was a fresh pizza with variety of cheeses. My wife had the blue cheese-​stuffed burger with bacon and was very happy with it. Fries are made fresh, I had Garlic Fries and they were excellent!
Danette was friendly and the service was great.
This will be a regular stop for us, no doubt! Check it out if you haven’t already!

Tried this place for dinner 3 times in the last year. Very disappointing. the hamburger was raw this last time. Last night after dinner it was straight to the toilet to puke… oh, and whoever rights the trivia questions needs to find someone else to help.

Love the new ownership here! They have such a great atmosphere! Great for couples/​family/​or a night drinking! Fun music and great people! This place is a must!

We wanted something new to eat. Look on Unilocal and the same places popped up. Then this gem popped up. I also thought it was a bar but I was wrong.
The staff were friendly and very attentive. Let us take our time reviewing the menu. Beer selection was fabulous. Food came out in a timely manner. Got to watch two football games at once in their front dinning area. My oven baked pizza was mouth watering! Best pizza I have had in a very long time. Husband got a chicken melt and it was very good. Fries were perfect.
We are so happy we have found a new place near home that we can explore the menu, beer selection and watch some football too!

First time here and food was amazing! Fried pickles, cheeseburger pizza and black and blue burger all delicious. We will definitely be back!!!

Fair to midland. Good atmosphere if your a local yocal. Like wood fire ovens in the past. This ones a bit shy of excellent, but it will do. Food is plenty good, if your not in a hurry. I will visit again. :-)

My chicken ranch pizza was off the chain! I recommend this place if you also like the bar scenery and the service was nice. I like that they also have open mic on the 3^rd month on Saturdays.

Just passing through Placerville heading to South Lake Tahoe. We do this about 4 times a year, pass through Placerville. We usually push our way straight through to Tahoe, no stops. Well this time it was about dinner time and our 12 year old son was getting hungry. My husband and I try our best to find diner kind of places with personality and great food. Oh well, having a good beers helps. Boy did they have beer. I’m sorry we were just passing through. Coulda had another.
Our dinner was wonderful. My son had fish and chips, best he has ever had he said. My husband had the meatball sandwich, «that sandwich was the shit.» In this context, that is a great thing. I had the mile high sandwich. It was pretty high. I only ate ½, not because I didn’t like it but because it was a mile high alright. It was too much to eat. My husband is looking forward to eating it for breakfast. The service made the experience that much better. High energy was everywhere. A live game of trivia entertained my son as we watched the Giants game. The waitress who took our order at the counter had beautiful multi colored hair done very nicely. I’ve seen some bad jobs before.
Our journey continues but we will be back. Keep up the great job.

One of the 3 best spots in town if your a brew fan. Great selection of beers on tap! The food is good (normal pub fare with a few surprises) The staff is very nice and friendly. I had the French dip last time. It was awesome.

Came in for lunch and had the Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger. One of the best tasting burgers I’ve had in a long time. The hamburgers were cooked to perfection for my taste and the breaded jalapenos added just the right amount of flavor and did not over power the taste of the burger as a whole. The huge pieces of thick bacon was tasty and crispy.
The service was perfect too. When we were ready to order the waitress was right there to take our order and was always there for drink refills.
This is the second time I’ve been to this Pub. First time we had a pizza which was very good as well, and wanted to try one of those juicy looking burgers I had seen coming out of the kitchen. I was NOT disappointed.
Would definitely recommend to any one who’s looking for a good pizza, burger or beer.

My husband and I came in for another visit. This time, in addition to lots of good beer, we had onion rings and the Italian artichoke salad. Both were wonderful. Then we had the spicy barbecue pizza. It was good, but definitely not for the faint of heart. SPICY. Finally, the best thing ever was the salted caramel cheesecake. I’ll come back over and over just for that.

This place is a true destination if you’re looking for great food at an affordable price. They have both a sitting area and bar with sports games on the televisions and an amazing beer selection. Top notch customer service here I can’t wait to come back!

When Danette and her crew took over a little less than a year ago, I was thinking, «What? Oh, no! What’s going to change? You can’t fix it if its not broken.» This was the ONLY place that my husband actually liked pizza.
During the transition in ownership, I believe there WERE a few disgruntled (now ex) employees that were trying to mess things up for Danette. Pizzas were coming out of the oven in less-​than-​stellar condition ~ like the cooks didn’t care.
We stuck it out during the few MINOR hiccups and so glad we did! This place has EXCEEDED its prior incarnation!!! An expanded menu still includes killer pizza, but now includes picturesque burgers with REAL CHEESE, fresh-​tasting fries and the ol’ standby beer by the pint or VAT-​mug ~ I don’t know if that’s what it’s called, I just know that it looks normal in my hubby’s hand.
We didn’t think that customer service needed to be improved… we love Rose! Again, Danette with her daughter, Danae, expanded what was already very personable customer service. The chemistry between the three has blended so well, now. There’s more one-​on-​one «How is everything?» «Can I get you anything else?»
Way to go Danette and crew! Keep up the PHENOMENAL work!

We were here before under the previous owners and weren’t impressed. The new owners have improved things, in our opinion.
We were simple: one large Margherita pizza and a bottle of zin. They were out of the zin. So we went with the Barbera, which paired nicely with the pizza. The pizza was good — although the crust was very cracker-​like.
We liked the experience overall. One thing they HAVE to fix, however, is to come up with a new, higher-​gluten dough recipe. Pizza crust is supposed to be chewy — not crumbly.
Oh, and keep enough wine in stock.

Since change of ownership prices stayed the same but food portions are about half what they used to be in regards to their pizza breads. Very disappointing.

I came here with a friend a couple of days ago (Sunday). It was relatively quiet, which was nice. I’d seen this place for a while, but they are closed Mondays. So I was very happy to see them open!
Following the sign, we seated ourselves and looked at the menu for a while. Danette, the new owner, was friendly and made us feel right at home. Since they don’t offer Blue Moon, she suggested Great White and even let me try a sample! I ended up ordering a glass of Great White and the garlic chicken sandwich. If you’re a garlic fan this sandwich is a MUST! It was divine-​warm, gooey melting cheese and real garlic! I opted for the caesar salad as a side. My friend ordered an iced tea and burger-can’t remember which one. But, he was asked how he’d like it cooked and upgraded to garlic fries (also with real garlic and delicious). We ordered a side of ranch, which we found out they make from scratch. It has a hint of dill and was some of the best ranch I’ve ever had!
I really enjoyed the fact that Danette made us feel so welcome and didn’t rush us out like most restaurants these days. We were there for a couple of hours. Overall, the establishment is clean and the décor entertaining. Total cost of dinner was $ 30.
I will most definitely be back, very impressed!

Since the hands have changed … The new owner is AMAZING ! Soooo knows what she’s doing! Great food ! I am a salad /​pizza SNOB I have not one thing negative to say … Been here before, was horrible with horrible service … NOW NOTHING IS BAD! Soooo happy we have a clean great place to come too now

Came back to give this place another shot and was happily surprised. Under new ownership with great service and food. Waitress /​bartender was so nice! I had the Artichoke and Salami salad and my husband had the Club sandwich. There isn’t a kids menu but they were able to make small basic ham and cheese sandwiches for our kids. Great variety of craft beers on tap and big screen TV’s perfect for football. Sunday is happy hour all day too! There is a pool table and one arcade pac man machine for fun.

Slowest kitchen service ever…48 min for a side salad, 2 orders of chicken strips (4), mozzarella sticks (6), and 4 potato skins. Was attending a wedding in that area, and was on a time crunch. If you are in a hurry or even if your just hungry Id go some place else, the wait was ridiculous, and the staff just seemed to not give a hoot that we had been sitting there, never came over once to say the food would be ready in this amount of time, nothing. If you need to eat, avoid this place alltogether.
