We spent the weekend here for Valentines day in the Bunkhouse. It was a great experience! The farm is beautiful(in a rustic way), the horses are adorable, the owners are super nice, the food was great. What more could you ask for in a Bed and Breakfast? It’s about a 5 minute drive from downtown Placerville. When we arrived, we were greeted and given the tour. Our room had a little snack picnic basket, freshly cut flowers, and even a water dish for our dog. When we returned from town after dinner, they had left little chocolates and dog treats on the bed. We also were offered wine and a chocolate torte. This place is not a fru-fru high class establishment. It is a homey, comfortable place. I was comfortable, well-fed, well-looked after, and completely relaxed.

We recently stayed at this B&B, and found it very enjoyable overall. We’re not really B&B people, but had a good experience here. The location is very relaxing and is set among some rolling hills just a few miles outside of Placerville. I’d say if you prefer your B&B’s to be pristine and not lived in, this may not be your place. This one is a working home/farm, and has the trappings of a lived in area in full view. Farm equipment, vehicles, and assorted odds & ends are among the charm of the place. We stayed in the bunkhouse, and while it does have a private bathroom it is only separated from the bedroom merely by curtain. If you like your bathroom privacy, this is not the room for you. The photos on the website show the adjoining room which does have a regular door separating the bed and bathrooms. The hosts/owners are super people. Very friendly, but not overly in your business if you are just there to relax. Breakfasts were outstanding and filling. And of course, the mini horses are quite charming and fun to watch.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, it was a great experience. The room was very comfortable and the hosts gave attention to a lot of little details that made the stay very enjoyable, Little snacks, local wines, coffee and tea, it was really a relaxing weekend. The breakfast was delicious and they were extremely attentive to our needs, my coffee was never empty. We had baked goods, fresh fruit and a wonderful strata dish, very tasty. The only comment I had on the place was that it was pretty rustic, I wouldn’t recommend it if you have bad allergies, as there are lots of flowers and animals around. For us this was a real bonus, they have these cute mini horses that we fed and a very friendly cat that loved attention. Over all I highly recommend them for a weekend stay, great food and very friendly company!
