We went to the lunch seating. The line was long to pay, but we were seated quickly after we reached the hostess station. Our waiter, Eugene, was AWESOME. None of the dishes really impressed me, but the brisket(which was recommended by a gentleman in line) was good. There was a good selection of dishes to choose from, including shrimp, a carving station and noodle counter. The ice cream was good quality. For the $ 13, I was content, but I wouldn’t have wanted to have paid much more than that.

Of all the local Northern California Indian casinos, I like this one the best. Got there when it open Saturday and got the unadvertised butterfly shrimp. Cracked crab was perfectly cooked in a tomato based. They provide all the necessary equipment to eat it too! Enjoyed the carving station beef selection and nice selection of veggies. Skip the desserts, not worth wasting your calories on :) Get more crab instead!

Only reason I come here is because my mom gambles a lot so she gets comped for food. This is a mediocre buffet. They have just about everything that you can find from any other average buffet. From pizzas, to Chinese food, salad bar, ham, pastas, etc. They also have a phở section, which is cool and certain days they have prime rib. I also like their pork with chutney sauce! I also came here for Sunday brunch before and they had unlimited mimosas. For my recent visit, I came for Philippines Independence Day which they said they will have beef sisig, kare kare, pancit, menudo, and adobo. The pancit looked so plain, I didn’t even bother trying it. The«sisig» that they had was not even sisig at all. It was just cubes of beef. The tocino, didn’t even look or taste like tocino at all also. It was very dry. The only thing that I thought tasted decent was the kare kare, menudo and adobo. The meat from the kare kare was really soft and it was good. The only thing missing was veggies. My BF overheard some older Filipino ladies talking shit about the food which I found funny. Lol. They have a good amount of different dessert to choose from. Lots of cakes, pies, and ice cream. I love that they have baklava there.

I went to the Waterfall Buffet again tonight and it was better than usual. They had some fried zucchini sticks that were awesome(although they were labeled as some sort of schnitzel). You could cut the beef brisket with a butter knife, but probably only because it was really fatty… still tasted pretty good though. The only part of the buffet that I find irresistible is the dessert bar, which has some of the best bread pudding I’ve ever had, which when combined with the strawberry purée at the fruit bar becomes one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever tasted. Add a scoop of butter pecan ice cream if you really want to go all-out.

People on here rating this bad are seriously nuts. 12.99 with players card that you sign up for when you walk in the building and takes 2 minutes. This includes drinks as well. The food is good And you definitely get more than your money’s worth. First get a salad or soup with a selection of cheeses and fruits /vegetables. Next choose from pizza /Mexican /ribs /Asian + phở station /carving station with sausage and meat that varies /fried chicken with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese /hot wings /asparagus /usually some fish of the day /plus other stuff. Then you can finish with dessert bar including various pastries /pie/cake/and blue bunny ice cream with fudge and other toppings. The meal you eat can easily get up to 40 dollars or more if you ate this at a regular place and everything is pretty tasty. This buffet beats pretty much all the Reno ones and rivals some more expensive ones in Vegas. This is as good as it gets people. Yes it is more expensive on weekends ASEVERYOTHERBUFFETTHATSEVEREXISTEDIS! Weekend are seafood or steak nights at every buffet ever made. You can’t charge 13 bucks and let people eat crab and steak! You’ll lose 30 bucks per person easily. This buffet is zero profit as it is its there to draw people in to a casino!

There service is just awful. They need to have a meeting and tell all the employees there in the service business. Each time we go it gets worse and worse. Think will go else where to eat…

I got trolled by another Unilocal post about $ 16.99 buffet dinner. It is in fact that price for every other day except Saturday’s. I think it was steak and shrimp night so we were oh so lucky to pay 29.99 for that sucker. Man that’s Vegas buffet pricing, not near Sacramento pricing. We did the deed since we were hungry after Tahoe. No wonder why the line wasn’t long and there was no crowd. If you have a kid 5 or younger, it is free. Six or older will have to pay 30 bucks! Their stuff is good but nothing crazy special. They put in the request to have medium rare steak and the waitress brought it for us! I tipped her cuz she was so nice. So for that 16 price then totally worth it but not sure for the 30.

SUNDAYBRUNCH How well can you rate a buffet at an eatery? When it comes to buffet breakfast is my favorite. I admit there aren’t a lot of varieties during breakfast. Of all the meals lunch is the worst buffet value as you don’t get items that are served during either breakfast or dinner. People rate buffets during dinner and rightfully so as dinner tends to be the most expensive yet has the most items. I’m not a buffet aficionado but I believe the best way you can rate a buffet overall is during weekend brunch. I ate here today for Sunday brunch. What makes this brunch so great? At the breakfast section there are waffles, french toasts, and pancakes. The pancakes in particular were apple pancakes. Did the apple pancakes make this brunch great? No. At the dessert station there are so many varieties of dessert. This dessert station has cannoli with chopped pistachios. I never seen cannolis at a dessert station in a buffet. Did the cannolis make this brunch great? No. At the Asian station includes Japanese and Chinese food such as sushi and fried rice. However there was a Philippines pork riblets. The Philippines pork riblets have a texture similar to adobo but black bean sauce gives a sweetness to this dish. Was the Philippines pork riblets the reason why the brunch was special? No. I went to the carvery section where there was prime rib. That’s what made this brunch exceptional. Unless you’re at Las Vegas, Reno, or Lake Tahoe where can you have prime rib at a buffet for Sunday brunch? One of my plates I tried to create a British-style Sunday feast by having prime rib and bread pudding. However a British-style Sunday feast is really roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately there were no roast beef or Yorkshire pudding during Sunday brunch. Having prime rib and roast beef for Sunday brunch sounds too much of a good thing but I wouldn’t mind. However having prime rib at a buffet for a Sunday brunch is the reason why I rated the Waterfall Buffet as four stars.

How does a buffet like this ONLY have 3 stars? First off, $ 15.99 for dinner(drinks included), $ 12.99FLAT w/rewards card which takes like a minute to sign up. You’re practically paying Hometown Buffet prices for a typical Vegas casino type of buffet. Great, attentive service which you normally don’t get at most buffets. Consists of your typical buffet options. Asian, American, Italian, Mexican, specialties, meats, salad and dessert bar. Everything was decent and there wasn’t a single item I didn’t enjoy. They also offer a station for Phở. Never seen that as a buffet option before but that was one thing that stood out. It’s a decent sized buffet and you definitely have lot of options to choose from. Despite the price they don’t offer much seafood like crab legs, mussels or shrimp cocktail, so that’s the only downside. Aside from that, the price is what makes this place a bargain. For around $ 15 – 20 depending on how much you tip this place is awesome.

Went on New Year’s Eve and had the best buffet of Crab, shrimp, ham, prime rib, oysters and chicken. I would compare the buffet to the Paris buffet in Vegas. The price was right the view was nice and the waiter was outstanding. The desserts were an array of delicious pies, cakes, ice cream and various pastries. My only complaint was there was no Cool Whip, or whip cream to put on the pies or sundaes. 5 stars for our table of 4… Will be back next year as long as the menu includes crab…

My sister wanted to try this buffet, so my family went on a weeknight. It wasn’t too busy, but it looks like they have a lot of regulars. My mother mentioned that if you have a black player’s card you get to eat for free. If you have a player’s card, you get a discount on the normal price. I thought was weird that my mom’s boyfriend, who has a player’s card, was paying for all of our dinners, but they asked to see everyone’s player’s card. Four of us didn’t have one, so he had to pay full price for us. Annoying. We asked to be seated in the dining room on the right because there is a nice view of the sunset. Anyway, onto the food! Good/decent: — egg roll(Chinese) — spicy eggplant(Chinese) — wontons(Chinese) — pizza(Italian) — chili verde(Mexican) — smoked brisket(carving station) — mashed potatoes(by carving station) — chocolate covered strawberries — baklava — cookies and cream ice cream Not good/wouldn’t recommend: — bread pudding(egg consistency/not enough bread) — fried fish(extremely dry) — Mexican rice(dry) — potsticker(bland) — ranch dressing for salad(very salty) Pretty much a typical buffet. Nothing too fancy, but what do you expect for the location and price.

Considering how low the quality/taste is of most standalone buffets, this is actually relatively acceptable. The main course food wasn’t bad but the desserts could use some improvement(too sugary, discount store taste). The selection, however, is generous where almost anyone will find something they like. The biggest plus is that it is entirely on a smoke free floor and you do not feel like you’re in a casino, more like a food court in a mall. I personally can’t stand casinos with their noise and cancer inducing cigarette smoke, so this is a big plus. Would consider coming back again.

For the second year in a row we hit the RedHawk buffet for Thanksgiving. And for the second year in a row we had a wonderful experience. We showed up around 2pm and of course the buffet was full and the dining room in high gear(hey, it’s turkey day). So we were given a buzzer/pager and told 1 ½ hour wait. A little slot machine play and a beer at the bar and the 1 ½ hours disappeared. Paid our $ 60 and waited about another 20 minutes in line before being seated at a nice clean booth. «Daniel» our server was at our table asking for our drink order as we were sitting down. After putting in our drink order it was AYCE time!!! Started with the traditional turkey/mashed/stuffing/gravy/cran-sauce. And it was delicious. Very well done. Super flavorful and fresh tasting. Not overly salty. The turkey was so freaking moist!!! After the turkey bird action it was time for everything else: fried clam strips(good flavor but a little over cooked), Kung Pow chicken(really tasty but hardly spicy), salmon(very well done), potstickers(nice but not remarkable), prime rib(top notch), shrimp scampi(nice and light), jambalaya(fantastic flavor! but rice a little mushy), wedge blue cheese salad(very tasty), Chinese pork/seafood dumplings(a fav), along with an assortment of egg rolls, dinner rolls, desserts, and a much needed toothpick. We agreed that if there were any minor deficiencies in the food, the awesomeness of the service staff more than made up for them. Every employee we came in contact with was super friendly and had the biggest smiles. Huge props to the entire RedHawk staff for being away from their families and loved-ones to provide a positive and high quality dining experience for us on Thanksgiving Day!!!

As I walked inside at Red Hawk Casino and Resort for the first time yesterday on 10÷2÷2015, I decided to dined in at the Waterfall Buffet. Located at the lower floor inside the casino, Waterfall Buffet brings all kinds of food from steaks, Asian, Italian, seafood, and many more. I managed to get a discount purchase deal after signing up a new Red Hawk Rewards card. The atmosphere is quite alright for me although it does have a great sunlight directly by nature on the windows. The concept is much similar to some casino buffets in Northern California like Jackson Rancheria’s buffet for instance. The hosts and servers have done a fine job as I welcome there. The server Judie is such a sweet lady here for serving me great refills of unsweetened iced tea. No cons at all! Now onto my plate selection choice! I started with my first plate of basic entrees. This first plate that I chose includes 3 California roll sushies, two slices of pork loin, spaghetti in marinara sauce, seasoned shrimp, and steamed broccoli. So far, it’s a hit-n-miss. The good: the spaghetti in marinara sauce and seasoned shrimps did win my taste buds! The cons: the pork loin is good, yet it’s dry and bland for me as I ate it. It did left out the flavor of the pork loin completely which it’s sad. I hope the pork loin needs to keep the juices on, so it will taste better. The California roll is alright for me although it does tasted like I’m eating an actual sushi at the local supermarket. It’s an OK eatable sushi. Finally, the steamed broccoli cooked very well, but it’s closely hard to bite my mouth. I hope the broccoli needs to steamed more to make it soft to eat. Overall, a good average meal for my first plate. The second plate: steamed snow crabs. The crabs looked good; however, the taste is too salty for me. I hope it needs to reduce the salt content for the snow crabs this time. On the other hand, there’s no steamed lobsters here! I did seen some oysters, clams, and mussels available, but there’s no lobsters found at Waterfall Buffet. I hope they will add it in the future. The last plate: fruits. The strawberry and watermelon both tasted not that bad, so everything is good for me without any cons. In the end, Waterfall Buffet at Red Hawk Casino and Resort is a good, average casino buffet right in the Placerville neighborhood. A worthy experience. My rating: 3 solid stars.

Went for lunch on a Monday. There were only about 10 people lined up to pay the cashier, but it was a confusing mess. The«Platinum Line» and the«non loser» line fed into 2 registers and it was poorly marked where one should go. Evidently the«losers» have priority to go to an open register. This resulted in about a 10 minute wait to get through the interchange. The food selection was adequate but not overwhelming and the quality was just about the same. I found nothing to be outstanding. The table service was much better than the register women. The waitress was friendly and cleaned the table promptly and brought decent tasting coffee and refilled it. A very average experience and I probably won’t return for a very long time if ever.

Come on a Friday night and it’s seafood night. I always come for the crab! *drool* There is actually two crab stations. You can either get them on ice(I much prefer this) or in the steamed section. They provide melted butter and fresh lemon for your dipping pleasure. Being Filipino… I really appreciate the Asian section where I can find steamed white rice to eat with my crab legs! I really just come for the crab… but they also have clams(yumm!) and shrimp(steamed & breaded) and a carving station with the usual roast beef and tri tip. There is also an Italian section with pasta dishes and pizza. But because we went on seafood night… be prepared to pay quite a bit. For my husband & I and with our RedHawk card we paid $ 55 for the both of us.

This buffet is pretty awesome! My review is strictly for Friday’s buffet and Sunday’s brunch. Being an elite member has its perks, and it definitely lures my family and I in. We drive 40 minutes to this wonderful casino to enjoy our two free elite buffet, and then discounted rates for those who love to tag along. Our servers are usually Lynn and Katie. A lot of the staff here are a lot older, but they work really hard to make sure your plates are always cleared, your drinks always filled, and actually check on you if you need anything! I love their unlimited supply of raw oysters and crab. I’m a big seafood lover, so this is where I usually tackle first. I love to smother my oysters with fresh squeezed lemon, and Tabasco. Crab legs are served with melted hot butter. After I get tired of peeling, I usually hit the meat section. Prime rib with horseradish is my favorite! Then during Sunday’s brunch, they serve mimosas, and this crunchy wrapped shrimp that is phenomenal. Way better than my shrimp egg rolls that I usually make.

$ 15 for brunch on Sunday with bottomless mimosa?! What a deal! There were: 1. Breakfast food — omelette station, waffle, pancakes, benedict, scramble eggs, bacon 2. Asian food — including a small selection of sushi(nothing to get excited about because it wasn’t that great) 3. American/Italian food — I’m surprised there were no pasta 4. Carving station — the prime rib was good — cooked medium rare 5. Salad bar — they had a bunch of premix cold salads(like couscous, tuna salad, caprese) as well as greens and toppings for you to make your own salad 6. Dessert, of course — fruits, cakes, ice cream, and soft serve! Everything tasted decent, but nothing to rave about. My favorite was probably the green tea ice cream — there was a strong tea taste which I like. It’s a good place to eat if you don’t know what you want to eat but want a good deal. The price for brunch was more than dinner, which I thought was weird. Tip — sign up for their rewards card so you can get a discount for the buffet!

Only reason why I came here is because I went out to dinner with my Sacramento friends. They thought the buffet was nice and cheap. Service was worse than Hometown Buffet. At least at Hometown, I can get my own refills. A couple of times they were slow at taking away my dirty plates. One time they took away my fork because they thought I ate too much. Food is not so great — food was either stale, old, recooked, or just not so fresh. The only thing memorable was their Chinese food. I never eat Chinese food at buffets. But, my auntie and uncle did a better job in cooking the Chinese food, than they did in cooking the American and Mexican food. The po po at the carving station was mean until I spoke Cantonese to her. Po po gave me lots of cardboard tasting dried meats after I greeted her in Chinese. Dessert is a total fail — really dry and not so good. except, their mango ice cream(in the ice cream section) was actually okay. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be back… unless my Sacramento friends drag here again. I’d rather go to the Hometown Buffet.
