Placitas, Local, N.M. Shop and Staff The location is out of the way, BUT well worth it. It is down so back roads, however once you find it you know you have hit the jackpot. A friend took me to this winery 2 years ago, and I will never forget the first time I went. The winery holds local art events as well as many other events. The art is what stood out the most for me. All the staff are very professional, and know everything about the wine they make. Experience After going the first time I couldn’t get this place our of my head. I would go up about every 6 months and get more of my favorite cranberry wine. Then I heard they were coming out with a blackberry wine. I got a bottle, and now I love it just as much as the cranberry wine. One more thing to add is the mulling spices. It is great to add to a cranberry wine. It gives the wine a kind of hot cider taste. To anyone looking to buy some excellent wine give this wine a taste.

As we pulled into the off the beaten path winery we were greeted by a man doing some wood carving. He also happened to be the head vintor. We were the only people at the winery at the time, so we were given top treatment. The majority of the wines are a fruit wine, blackberry, apricot and black cherry were the predominate blends. It was great as my thought of fruit wine is sweet wine. This place breaks the mold. We were informed that most fruits were lower in sugar content then the wine grape, just most wineries add sugar. There were blends, chardonney and apricot, which had a bit of a sherry aftertaste. By far my favorite was the Rojo Seco, a syrah/black cherry blend. Due to travel restrictions we were unable to purchase, but there is a website to buy from which will be in the future. I would recommend a weekday if you want a personal touch tour, or weekend if you want to bump into a few other tasters.
