Oh boy, where do I start??? I’m all about supporting black owned businesses but when you’re rude and not professional, that’s when I have an issue. I called trying to find out what would be best for me and not to waste any body’s time. Why did she answer the phone chewing then she sounded like she was half asleep. So when I was asking her questions about how to book the right service so that I won’t waste my time and her time, she had the nerve to tell me that I should just click on book and that she has clients waiting for so she can’t help me. Wow. The level of rudeness with ghetto women is unreal. You need to step up your game and get some customer service classes. P. S.: you must have me confused with somebody else. The same way your calls are recorded. Mine are as well. So there no need to have your ratchet friend send me nasty messages. Are you trying to bully me or threaten me through social media? I only called you once. All I wanted was a silk press which you are offering. I did not want to change anything. As a matter of fact I wanted to get additional services, which I was willing to pay for. And your business was not suffering why would you have a Groupon available? Without the groupon I would have never known about your establishment. Again, get some customer service skills. If someone gives you an advice, you take, it’ll benefit you in the long run. Again, I believe you got me confused with someone else. I only called you once yesterday, and you were way too busy to tell me to book on styleseat for us to have any conversation about services and all of that. We spoke for 1 minutes 43 seconds yesterday and 5:03pm and for 1 minutes and 39 seconds at 9:29 this morning. But like you said, I will definitely find somewhere that is pleasant and friendly and most of all professional. You stay blessed.

I’m a part of the wedding party. We all couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful this hair salon did our hair. If you’ve been wearing an afro youd understand. Most of us hadnatural hair and our hair styles were very nice. Their were more compliments on our hair than the wedding. I’ve been coming tobthis beauty salon in union countyevery since I decided to get a silk press this time and I was again impressed on how my curl pattern always returns. I love the color restoration treatment it brought so much life to my old color. my color looks like I have new color. i never knew this salon was so close to Piscataway. I’ve tried to locate hair salon is Piscataway, South Plainfield, north brunswick however if you’re looking for healthy hair it’s a must sister loves the microlinks yes they do just do regular sewing hair extensions is not weave shop. I love this staff their amazing quality work and worth every penny!

I had the most humiliating experience today at this salon. First, I didn’t have an appointment and I appreciated her for taking me. When I arrived at the salon I talked to manager. I told her that I have not had a relaxer in almost a year and I am currently transitioning. I asked her if I could either get a blow out or a weave. She quickly stated that she didn’t have time to do a weave, but she could do a blow out for me. I agreed. I was told that in order to get my hair done, I needed to sign 2 disclosures. She exhibited a lot of nervous behavior but I signed with no problem. The first ten minutes seemed to last an hour. Her uneasiness and nervousness had me questioning if I should stay. I sit in the chair and we talk more about what I will be getting done to my hair. I agree to a protein treatment. She gives me the bill for $ 79 and asked her to explain the cost. She showed me the website and pricing. I start to feel rushed because I wanted to talk more about hair care and not feel like I’m being rushed. I said to her that I didn’t feel comfortable getting my hair done because I’m feeling uncomfortably rushed. She explained she had a busy morning and apologized. I agree to cont. She washes my hair then puts me under the dryer for my protein treatment. This is where it starts to get interesting. I tell her that my cousin came to her salon to get her hair trimmed. She quickly says. «I can’t do your hair». I asked her why and she goes on to tell me about a bad review that My cousin did on Unilocal(see below review). She proceeds to read the entire review and scrutinizes every other sentence and starts talking about a law suit. I quickly tell her that I don’t know anything about the bad review or a law suit. I tell her that it has nothing to do about me. I tell her that if she needed me to sign any additional documents so I don’t sue her, I would. So, I believe that she is comfortable enough to continue with my hair. Her daughter entered the shop and she quickly identified me as The cousin of the girl that is suing her. I look over like wth!!! Then her husband comes back and she is whispering to him. So at this time. I’m wondering in the back of my head if she is going to continue with my hair. To my surprise, she comes and checks on my hair and suggested a conditioner to soften with the blow out. I agree. She puts the conditioner in my hair and I sit under the dryer again. She rinses my hair out then puts me back under the dryer. After about 15 minutes she calls me over to her chair. I sit in her chair and she said, I don’t feel comfortable doing a blow out in your hair. I’m thinking… Maybe I can change the style to a twist out. She proceeds to tell me that she can’t continue doing my hair. I look at her in disbelief. I’m thinking… WTF… and I say, I’ve been in your salon for over 2 hours and now you tell me this. After you put a protein and conditioning treatment. After you tell me that you believe I have nothing to do with a law suit. I was so humiliated. I asked her for a comb so I can comb my Afro into a pony tail. I stand in front of the station and she tells me I can’t stand in front of the station and that I needed to back up in front of the mirrors because if the State were to come by, they would shut the shop down. I asked her what should I tell the next person that would do my hair. Just flat iron?!? What tell me the next step that should take place. She stayed quiet. My issue is, So when did I get judged by someone else’s actions. Why was I treated like this. I began to cry in pure disbelief. She began to cry to and stepped out the salon. I grabbed my coat and left. I told her to ask the people that we know in common to vouch for my character. She stayed silent. This was the most unprofessional salon experience that I had in my life. I’m not trying to jeopardize Katina’s livelyhood but I definitely feel like this situation could have been handled better. Thanks for making me feel like shit! You should never treat a customer like this! As of 2÷21÷166pm– The manager of this salon has gone so far as to tell her friends about the review and now her friends are sending me inboxes on Unilocal calling me all types of stupid for reporting what happened yesterday. I don’t have time for the games and the unprofessionalism. I wouldn’t pay money to have my hair done here if it was the last salon on earth.

Okay so let me start off with this so I went to this establishment because I needed a trim off my split ends. When I called the lovely owner of the salon she was telling me that she can only do that if she straightens my hair; I was a little apprehensive about it because I am a natural my hair texture is 4a to 4b and 4c. So when I went into the establishment I was still a little nervous but I said to myself(Self she’s a professional she knows what she’s doing.) So she detangle my hair with a brush and yes a bristle brush and I’m thinking this is a new technic yes it does hurt but I’m thinking well my hair can get a little tangled. So I allowed her to proceed, once the whole blow out was completed with the bristle brush she finally puts heat protection in my hair(pause I brought in my own heat protectant which I should of use but she told me that it’s not guaranteed that I would have the same results so I said okay I’ll use yours) so sprayed my hair with her homemade heat protectant that was in a professional store brand bottle. The owner used a flat iron to straighten my hair, She layered my hair and let me say she is awesome with the sheers!!! I love the layers. Let me take a step back while she proceed to straighten my hair I know she burnt my scalp, by when she put the flat iron to my hair the oil that is in my hair was hot from the flat iron and ran down to my scalp. So now let’s go on to the rest of the night while at the salon she curled the ends of my hair and she even pinned my hair for me because I had an event that night plus it was snowing and she put a shower cap on my hair so it won’t get wet plus she lashes on my lashes. Later that night when I came home and I started to pin my hair back up for the next day as I’m rolling part of my hair with my fingers I felt a wet spot on my hair and the beginnings of a scab Yes a scab. A little time went by like maybe three days had sent her a text on style seat and I got no answer so I called her two days later I believe so I can tell her about the scab. So I went to her on a Wednesday night and she saw the scab and she started to say it had to come from me scratching my scalp with my nails, I had to stop her by letting her the owner know that my nails are short plus I only use the pads of my finger tips if need to scratch my scalp. Then she told me that I must of done it when I was putting the hair pin in my head I had to stop her there again by reminding her that I had felt the opened scab while I was rolling my hair with my fingers tip pads. So she finally took some of the responsibility that it probably came from her when she pinned my hair but I then remembered that she had put some type of ointment when the oil burnt my scalp. Also she told me that she didn’t put any heat protectant or ointment at the root or mid part of my hair because it’s stronger.(All I could think of was that my hair must have heat damage but I still had faith in her). I’m sure the camera that is pointing to her salon chair that I was sitting in caught that on video. She asked me if I’m okay I said I was okay she asked me that over and over I’m assuming for the camera on that Wednesday night, I didn’t take any blame because I didn’t cause the damage. Of course she didn’t show me the footage but she did want to tell me about her husband the cop witch doesn’t change anything, I know this is a long review but stay with me it’s almost done. So on that Friday I decided to record my hair reverting back to its natural state, I cried because I saw that I got heat damage.(By the way I did NOT use any type of heat to my hair on my own at all during that week after the owner did my hair.) I was highly upset to the point where I wanted to sue the owner of this salon All natural and beautiful in Plainfield NJ which is soon moving to a new location. I would NEVER go back to this salon I really want my money back all of it because I didn’t go to a «Professional hair salon» to leave there with heat damage and now a scab on my scalp. If you want to go please know it’s a bit of a risk. Because now I have to go to another salon to most likely cut all the heat damage out. I’m highly upset. I would love for the owner of the salon to respond to this review on Unilocal and contact me directly regarding this issue Thank you.

No lie when I first came in it was a lil new a lil messy but Ghetto isn’t fitting enough. I came in bc the had a weave special ok 50 bucks this should be fine. By the time I was finished the bill was almost 125. She claimed to trim And deep condition. She didn’t cut my hair. But I’m thinking even if that is the case an extra 100? After realizing I wasn’t beat 70 seemed to be ok. None the less my weave was nice so I referred someone to her and as we were there and she spent more time trying to sell us a waist trainer more then doing our hair. There were people working there I know was not certified she had the cops come bc she tried to hustle some mom who left her daughter(12)for a doobie she said she cut her hair but bc she had 4 people there for the same appointment time I couldn’t help but pay attention and no scissors were present she puts the all day in salon ridiculous not honest at all. Not worth your time! Not worth your money!

In regards to the owner’s comment, I think you are mistakening me for someone else. I only called you on that Monday because I was not able to see an hair stylist since she went to lunch. I went in to see the hair along with wanting to talk about other natural styles since I was ready to make this my primary salon since I am impressed by your work. We did not make it to the discussion of closures or a lay away plans because in my opinion the person on the phone was being demeaning and I ended it before even agreeing to the bundles. I already had the money for the hair and was ready to make the appointment and buy the hair on Monday. My reasoning for asking about the bundle deal was to see if the prices are that way only if I buy 3 bundles since I feel like 3 bundles are sometimes too full and unnatural looking. If it was that way I would have still bought 3 bundles and saved the third for another time. I wish you and your business luck and thank you for the reply.

This place is a joke. The salon is so cluttered and messy. I made an appointment and walked straight out the door. The client was holding her phone while doing her hair. Mind you, this lady was talking so loud I could hear her across the room. Outside the salon it says all these cheap prices and then I come and want a press wash and rinse and she says 125 $!?! That is so ridiculous!!! I left in anger because I wasted so much of my time getting out there
