Genuine parts, amazing service, and highly competent expert technician. We have used Blaine’s multiple times and this guy is awesome, honest, and friendly. I can send my wife in and not worry about her getting ripped off or talked down to.

I originally went here because it is a block from my construction business. John and his crew now handle all of the work for all of my construction vehicles and personal cars. The crew here does thorough work and John takes a personal interest in what you want to achieve with your automotive repair by describing what all is wrong with the vehicle. He will tell you what needs to be done and what might not be so important right away.

Just picked up my baby from Blaine’s Automotive. John & crew finished her 1 ½ days early and $ 18 under the estimate. LOVE my mechanic!

I have used Blaines for servicing four of my older vehicles over the past several years. The work is always first-​rate and fast. I have found John to be as honest a mechanic as I’ve ever known and I have learn to trust his diagnosis without question.
On one occurrence, I’d taken our old Chevy Cavalier to him because it had started smoking under the hood. John gave me his assessment of the problem and the bad news about the cost. However, I decided to take it to a Chevy dealership for a second opinion. I told them what his diagnosis was up front. After running tests, they told me the problem was something entirely different (and cheaper) so I gave them the go-​ahead to fix the problem. However after the smoking returned 2 weeks later, they finally realized what I’d told them (or rather what Blaine had said) was indeed the real problem and they were compelled to fix the real problem at a much reduced rate than what they would have normally charged.
The bottom line — he knows his stuff.

I’m not sure why the two 5 star reviews are filtered, and 1 star is not, but I have to tell you I could not agree more with the 5 star reviews and don’t understand what experience the 1star person had.
I blew the tire out on my 2006 Audi A3 and was recommended to Blaine’s by Discount Tire because the car was bouncing weird and making a strange noise out of one of the tires.
I took it to John and he drove it (with me in it) for about 10 minutes to get a feel for which tire it was and just from the sound correctly identified that my shocks were bad and was causing uneven, choppy wear on the inside of my tire. While the car was on the lift, he showed me the issues and we agreed that I would leave my car with him over the weekend while he ordered replacement shocks.
He provided me with 2 options for the shocks, explained pros/​cons, took my choice, and charged me the same price he ordered them for from the internet. The only «extra» I paid was his labor. He left the car outside his shop so I could pick it up on the way to work before he opened, with the keys in the trunk like I requested. That day he called me to check on it and follow up, and mentioned that my brake pads needed to be replaced, gave me his price but also said «you can do that yourself too if you’re inclined». He never felt pushy, and I had complete confidence in him the entire time.

Oh yeah, he took Visa, just not American Express. The work was actually performed in Oct/​Nov of 2010, if it matters to you.
