Fun anniversary party, congrats. I had the apricot farmhouse, really liked it. Will be back for a growler! Love that Grumpy gaucho was there too, love them!

We go here somewhat frequently, as my husband is a home brewer and this is the best home brew shop in the area. He does most of his shopping online at Adventures in Home Brewing, but for last minute stops and buying grain, this is the option we choose.
I am particularly in favor of my husband shopping here because of the in house brewery! I hang out at the bar and have a few beers while he shops. I like that they sell their beers in regular and half portions because I can’t drink a ton, but I like to try different things. They also usually have a good selection of sours and big barrel aged stuff, which are my favorite. My husband is in to IPAs and he’s usually not disappointed.

Great find… come have a freshly brewed beer, and get all your supplies as well! Staff is knowledgeable snd love what they do.

I am jeaolous that my husband works so close to this place! I love coming in with him when it is time to get fresh supplies. While he debates what type of beer to make and how much he needs I enjoy one of the many delicious beers on tap. I have tried many and have not found one I dont like. I will continue to tag along for my husband as he makes supply runs. I learn more and more about the process each time and really like coming here. They are super adventurous with the beers they brew but all turn out wonderful.

If I wasn’t too lazy to brew beer, I would come here for my supplies. As far as I can tell, they have allllll the supplies. Thankfully, they brew beer for me!
Great selection of beers that is always changing. I have not been disappointed with any beers I have tried here.
My only beef is that there is nowhere to sit and drink beer. I like sitting.

Small facility, but… it’s AWESOME! Good brewed beers, nice people, good merch. And, goo costs.

Chicago Brew Werks is not just the best brewery in the area, it is the best brewery in the Midwest. Without question, it is the hidden gem of the entire craft beer industry. Their size enables them to be extremely creative while adhering to their exceptionally high standards and as importantly, their independence. I can’t say enough great things about the owner, Brando, or his staff. As individuals and brewers, they are the gold standard.
The beer selection is always vast and ever-​changing. Old favorites routinely come back around, each time a bit different and ofttimes, with a nice variation. At times, they’ll brew the same beer and use different yeast strains, so that the drinker can appreciate the differences in what each yeast has to offer. Not only can you speak directly with the brewers, watch them brew or take a brewing class, you can also seek their advice then purchase your ingredients and equipment directly from their amply-​stocked shelves.
If you truly appreciate craft beer, then Chicago Brew Werks and Werk Force Brewing are an absolute must to visit. They are the epitomization of all that is good with the craft beer movement.

This place is amazing and one of the best business ideas I have seen in awhile. I came in for starter brew supplies and ended up belly up to Plainfield best home town bar And one of the best and most attentive bartenders Chris. My wife and I were in love with Pineapple Express (Beer Formerly Known As) and were told kits to make that same recipe were for sale. I was able to make sure I liked the beer I was about to brew and what the final product SHOULD TASTE LIKE all at lower price than any other online kit options. Super helpful with any trouble shooting brewing question. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys or think they might enjoy craft beer.

One word, Awesome! I love this place! Fantastic beer. Chill atmosphere, and the staff is really knowledgeable! The owners are really nice as well.

I have been coming here for over a year now. The beer is always excellent. The staff are super knowledgeable. Chris and Jake are great behind the bar and really know the beer they serve. Brandon is a great owner and takes care of his customers. Great times and great beer! They also have sodas occasionally for the kids.

Finally had a chance to stop in and sample many of the Werk Force Beers. This brewery did not disappoint. Great customer service, terrific beer, and plenty of home brew kits to get you started with making your own brew. My personal favs at this brewery was Sleeping Bear which was a vanilla bean Russian imperial stout. Also, their flagship beer called «The beer formerly known as…» aka pineapple express IPA. The Oats Made Me Do It was a pale that reminded me of New Glarus Moon Man. They also had a citrusy lager and hopped saison that was pretty tasty. Overall I really liked their beer! I will definitely be back here!

First off, let me explain. It pains me to not give this place a 5 star. They are primarily a brewery supply store, and if I was into brewing my own beer, I have no doubt they would get 5 stars. Unfortunately I have limited time and too many hobbies, so I have to make some cuts somewhere. Secondly, this place has some amazing beer. Possibly the best I’ve ever had. The style doesn’t matter, every one is tops. If I brewed my own, it would pale in comparison.
The best brewery store selection and the best beer — why the star deduction?
To me, the bar layout is a bit awkward, maybe cramped. I like the warehouse/​garage/​underground feel of microbreweries like this, but this is a bit different. I’m all for aiming high in your endeavors, but they are trying to do just a bit too much in a limited space here. I’d love to be able to walk in, sit down, and relax with a couple beers, but with no bar stools and an adjuncts rack right behind you «relax» didn’t happen.
In a perfect world they would have room for at least a half high wall between the rest of the store and the bar area as well as room for some stools. Don’t let this dissuade you from going however. The staff is very friendly, and did I mention the beer? Amazing!
Keep up the great work guys, and maybe some day you can make all our beer dreams come true with enough room for all of your great ideas!

Amazing brews, a little hidden gem that needs to be further discovered! You can also pick up all your supplies for your home brew. Usually a food truck on site too :)

Good god Im redundant! This place is fricking awesome! Finally after over a yr of wanting to go there. The wife and I made it after a day of hard yrd wrk! Bartenders very friendly & Knowledgeable! Customers very friendly as well! Loved the Imperial! Loved the orange shandy! Bought a growler to go of the shandy! Gladly go back again prices gr8! Do stop!!! I Want to brew beer again!

Was in the plainfield area and dropped by just to check this place out with the wife. Cut to me quickly throwing together a recipe, asking a ton of questions about grain substitutions and being an annoying brewing noob. The staff was incredibly patient and helpful and I was very impressed by the selection of hops, grains, and accessories/​equipment. We stuck around for at least another hour after my purchase in the tasting area, where the beer was top-​notch and also got a short but very interesting tour of their brewing operation. Everyone here was fantastic, the beer was some of the best microbrew I’ve had, and I will definitely be back.

I went to this Brewery as part of a Running Group, we ran 3 miles and then stopped for some samples. The atmosphere was cool and super friendly. I tried 3 different beers which were all good! I highly recommend a stop to taste some great craft beers!

The first time I went into this place, I was greeted with a pleasant hello. The staff here is very friendly, and more than willing to help a newbie such as myself. They have everything that you need to get started in the homebrew hobby.
I asked one of the staff for help gathering my ingredients, and he personally walked me around the store to find each one. AWESOME.
The person who checked me out at the register was very knowledgeable, and super friendly. He ended up introducing himself as Brandon, the owner. He definitely will be seeing me again for my next brew.

I don’t know from brewing, but I love beer, and this place sells wonderful small batch beers. They have a nice bar area inside the store, and there’s always a really knowledgeable employee who is happy to help you figure out what you’ll like best from the tap. I’ve yet to encounter anything I haven’t really enjoyed. We have a couple growlers going at our house at any given time full of delicious things with fun names like Replicale or Up-​Up-​Down-​Down-​Left-​Right-​Left-​Right-​B-​A-​Select-​Start. I’m a bit hop-​averse and they even make me like hoppy beers. I don’t know what kind of sorcery they use, but they’re beer brewing wizards here.

This place has an amazing selection of hops, yeast, malt and equipment… and now they’re serving their own craft brews at the bar. A must-​go!

An excellent home brew shop and brewery. The selection of grain and yeast is massive, I have yet to bring in a homebrew recipe they couldn’t fill. In addition to ingredients they have a good stock of brewing and kegging equipment. Even compared to Northern Brewer or other internet shops their prices are fair.
Every beer I have had from the brewery has been good, but try Amarzilla or Putin is a Douche they are excellent.
Bottom line is if you are a homebrewer in the area this is the place to go, good selection, good prices, great people.
