Have you ever had a craving so bad that you felt you where going to die if you didn’t have it? That happened to me after being far away from home (Los Angeles) where Central American food rules the streets :)
Found this bakery on Unilocal and almost didn’t come here due to the bad review. Let me tell you liar liar pens on fire! When I walked in the girl was placing FRESH bread from the back in pans into the shelves and displays! She even made me wait because she need it to finish. Everything from the cakes to the guava turn overs and the traditional Guatemalan breads; hojaldras, besitos, conchas, champurradas. I had to compare the taste to other original Guatemalan bakeries back home and it was 90% assertive!
The only reason why I deducted a star was because they don’t sell tamales. They sell ham sandwiches. Overall I will come back.

The one reason I go to a bakery is to buy fresh baked goods, otherwise I can go to any grocery or convenience store. My issue with this place is that they sell day old and multiple days old products without letting the customer know. I’ve emailed the management and received no response which makes me believe they don’t care if I am dissatisfied. I know they bake in a central location and drive the products to the stores but there is no excuse for selling old product as new. If I want to gamble, I will go to Atlantic City, but for now I will search for another bakery that only sells fresh products. Avoid Guatepan!
